orod Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Such a Shame it ended like that. We really pushed forwards towards the end and I admire Sven for that brhe banter was amazing in the first half, particularly towards marlon. Could you hear all the different chants about him on tv?
Finchy Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Thought the fans were good today. Enjoyed the first half, in the stands that is, not what was actually happening on the pitch. Couldn't believe how bad the Birmingham fans were, that was far worse than Cov.
Happy Fox Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Interesting comment food for thought http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher/2011/10/blues_busy_bouncing_back.html?#298992 6. At 22:06 16th Oct 2011, Tigster98 wrote: One of the problems in a Leicester type situation is whether players have their hunger sapped by the rewards on the table. If you're already on Premier League money and know you'll be replaced if promoted then where's the incentive? I expect them to make the play-offs but come up short as Derby and Wolves did when they were the rich kids of the division in the 1990s. In the Championship, anything less than full tilt can equal dropped points and I wonder if Sven's necessarily the right man to drill those levels of intensity into players. Blues will be fine - Hughton is a top coach, great organiser and I'd be unsurprised if they had a decent run in the Europa League. This term might be about consolidation but he's putting the foundations in place.
shen Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Well we've been here before Shen to be honest. You're not making any argument really. I know what you mean about it's being too early to know where we are gonna be in a months time let alone come the end of the season. But there is no point in this 'if we win the next few games we will be in a better position' stuff. Of course we would, but we ain't won them yet.. Football is a points business and the table doesn't lie. We are where we are and I, for one, was expecting better at this stage of the season. As I would expect were honest City fans who are willing to admit it. If you think this makes me 'negative' or not a 'real fan' then look at some of the posts I've made this week about Wembley finals I've been to ( and cried at)... Eg Blackburn I just state what I think.. Under Sven we have either looked great, or shit.. With little in between. And the inconsistency of performance is alarming. If you wish for me to agree with you then don't just rely on suggesting what we 'should' be doing 'if' we get on a winning run.. Instead tell me how we are going to improve consistently and generally. Then I'd listen to you If I was able to improve a Championship footballing side consistently and generally, then maybe I should become a manager. I'm tired of know-it-all fans who have not a single shred of competence when it comes to football, saying 'oh Sven should do this, he should do that, he's clueless, he's won plenty in his career but he's obviously shit now' etc etc. While I know that comes with the game, that doesn't make these people more right. There's a reason he's the manager, there's a reason people with football knowledge are in charge and the average 15-year old fan isn't. As I said, I've supported a very stubborn manager with a certain philosophy, so I'm used to defending a manager when it's not very popular. I believe Sven knows full well where our team's limitations are and what he needs to address. We've just been through a run of four clean sheets, which to me indicates that we've become much more solid as a unit. We've come on quite a bit since the home defeats against Reading and Bristol City. Fans were ready to accept the explanation that the team hadn't quite gelled yet at that point, yet they also seem to ignore that those games are a major reason why we're down in 13th place now. Our recent form has yielded 9 points from 18 possible, including 2 home games and 4 away games. It's not brilliant, but it's not slit-wrist poor as the reactions after today's game seems to indicate. He's not 'lost the dressing room', although there are question marks over some players' dedication. We're only 11 games into the season, the team has only started gelling, and we're still only 2 points off the playoffs and 5 off the auto spots. With games coming thick and fast we will have an advantage to most teams due to the sheer size of our squad, and we'll gradually get more and more consistent results and performances. This is what I believe will happen. I don't see any reason to stop supporting what Sven is trying to achieve at this stage of the season. I don't expect you to 'listen' to any of this though, just like I won't feel uneasy like you do because of a poor result away to a relegated side.
z-layrex Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 We are not Barcalona, we are going to lose some football games. That's life.

I listened I believe Sven will get automatic without any hesitation. 1. We have a large squad of players. 2. Sven has resonable amount of experience from every kind of players and strategy. One thing I find quite amusing, true or false, is that MON's system at Leicester is a copy of Sven's system at Benfica...... 3. West Ham is the only other team sustainable over the season and as I know it we will be two getting automatic.
shen Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 So what you're saying is, Sven will succeed because that's why we appointed him, and he always knows more than every fan? Cue 'You're twisting my words' (I'm not). Yes, he knows more about football than the average LCFC fan. Although I'm sure you could give him a few tips and pointers. I didn't say that we're guaranteed success with Sven at the helm, but I believe we've got a better chance of getting promotion if we keep him, than if we get rid. A) because we've now got decent quality and quantity of players; B) Sven is a quality manager and; C) we have a proper setup and a couple of sensible Thais who believe in what they and Sven are doing.

I wouldn' t get rid, certainly not at this point, and probably not until the end of the season if we don't go up. My reasons for this are we are not in danger of going down and still have a decent chance of going up (albeit the play-offs is looking more likely), plus I'm struggling to think who we could realistically replace him with at the moment. But do I think we will finish in the top 2? No, I don't. The thing is that there is a middle ground between wanting Sven sacked and thinking we are going the right way towards getting promoted, this is where quite a large chunk of our fans are at the moment. There are a number of certain criticisms of Sven that keep coming up and not just from the same people, but numerous fans. I don't think it's fair to just fob these off with 'you haven't won what Sven has' and 'You're not a amanger, you're just a fan'.
Dan Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Few things. Firstly, I'll start with this thread. How a single one of you lot can even believe there's a manager "Ambitious" knows about, fvcking incredible. A blatant WUM and a good 5/6 pages worth of biting, very surprised here. Wasting your time guessing. Ambitious, in-fact no, mods, ban this clueless twat, nothing but a WUM. Now today. Completely unacceptable, once again. We won't go up, why? Simple. We're too negative, unambitious, unadventurous, and quite simply lacklustre away from home. Derby was an absolute treat, but it's only worth it if we can back it up. I can't be arsed with this utter crap. "We got draws at Cardiff/Middlesbrough" - nice one, not bad results. League winners get better than "not bad" results. Like it or lump it, QPR/Norwich, the sides who came in the top two last year, would've got more than two points, and I'm pretty sure of that. Today - another display of Leicester playing for the 0-0 away from home, I'd say Forest is the only one all season we haven't played for a draw, Coventry could've gone either way, Barnsley was just appalling and that felt like playing for a fvcking loss (and sneaking a draw), Cardiff/Middlesbrough we clearly went for bore 0-0's. Today, we played for the 0-0, it went tits up and we had absolutely no answer to it. I've not seen repeats of the decisions but it sounds like the ref generally got them right. I've said it time and time again. We're simply not promotion material. We don't intend to win often enough, we put together the occasional good run and the occasional thumping, but we put in so many absolutely lacklustre displays like today. People can blame the ref all they want, but I literally cannot remember Myhill having a save to make all game, literally, not one. My faith in Sven's gone down again, people praise us when we win and slate when we lose - I can't fault it. Ultimately, the media, the club themselves have bigged us up this year, that's absolute fact, the fans have been filled with expectation. People can't keep saying "oh you'll all be praising him if we win against Watford/Millwall", yes, fair enough, two games we SHOULD win, what if we don't? Or what if we win those two, and then lose to West Ham/Burnley? 2-0-2? MIDTABLE FORM. Yes we've not had the easiest games but people simply don't understand if we really want to go up this year, we cannot be THIS content with draws, and THIS content with lacklustre performances as often as this. I'll be behind us until the very end, but do I think we'll go up? Quite frankly, I think we're staring 10th in the face again. On goal difference over 11th/12th due to the occasional thumping which builds everyones hopes up. Yes it's 11 games, or is it? Nope. It's 46 - a year Sven's been in charge, and a year on we still sit here throwing in too many lacklustre displays, and too much contentness with mediocrity. COME ON LEICESTER, PROVE ME FVCKING WRONG.
Dan Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 And what a load of shite travel is in the Midlands. Straight out from the ground today, went straight home. Got back at 7:30pm. Absolute joke.
marbelladave Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Evening all...... i watched the game from the main stand, strangely called the kop...... Equally strangely I'm going to talk about the second half, first, if you see what I mean. We were asleep, no other explanation, Birmingham came at us and we were dozy, ten minutes later we were 1-0 down and down to ten men. The rest of the game we did pretty well, dominated chunks of the second half, pressed hard but created few chances, the second goal was well taken but largely undeserved. The ref was a bit of a homer, second half anyway, but it was hard to object to the major calls, from where i was the penalty looked nailed on, I have not seen it om TV, Mills's tackle was stupid red card and the foul on King was marginal at best. The fiest half was where it really mattered. in fact we had no one to blame but ourselves, we owned the first 45 minutesbut were too frightened to make it count, someome had drawn a line, about 20 yards inside the Birmingham half and none of our midfield players were allowed to run past it, that was it! Game lost! The lack of support to our front men, the slowness of our buildup play, the rubbish quality of our final ball all combined to let a Birmingham team, comprehensively out played in the first period, believe that they cound come out after the break and beat us. So they did, and it was all our own fault.....
Callabinho Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 The rediculouse thing about all these pages of drool is that come next Saturday, If we have 6 points under our belts all the haters will be back to licking Svens Swedish arse cheeks. I'm gutted like any other Leicester fan, but instead of calling for Svens head and chatting shit about him being sacked Ill forget about this and fully support my team in the next game, the only sacking reagarding Sven and Susan will be his ball sack slapping on her behind, sly dog maloy!
Dan Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 No, in-fact, what's more ridiculous is the fact people would use those two wins as an argument against West Ham/Burnley if we lose. Too many of our fans have a midtable mentality. It's the harsh truth. Thracian - like him or not, as negative as he can seem, has a winners attitude. Obviously this is just the fans, and what can the fans do? Ultimately we could all be expecting 24th it'd make absolutely no difference to what happens on the pitch. My point is, people are too content. If we lose at West Ham - "oh, we beat Watford & Millwall, it's alright", no, it fvcking isn't, what if we've picked up 6 points from those 9 and we still sit in midtable? If we really want to go up, defeats have got to be far rarer than this. 3 in 11 - that's about 12/13 for the season. That's not good, it's not top 2 form which we HAVE to go for with the money we've spent. West Ham are literally the only side in the league I can be content at all with coming below. I'll be fvcking miffed if we come below Southampton or Middlesbrough - two sides who were below us last year, have spent considerably less, and have managers on a LOT less money. I hope I'm wrong and we end up showing some positivity about us, but ultimately I just don't see it. I applaud people in a way if they really can be content with it but we're playing catch up already, and as we proved last year, we're not consistent enough to do it effectively. Meh I probably sound a real misery, truth be told, I have had a few, I am in an arse, but I'm just sick of being told I support a side who "should" win this league, and ultimately we seem absolutely lightyears from it.

Leicester_Loyal Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 I feel like we need a winger or two now. Too many CMs. Need to start picking up some points away from home, and by that I mean a win every now and again, not just draws.
LCFC_4212 Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 I still believe that red card for Mills was incredibly harsh, I don't buy the adage that a two footed tackle is a red card, he got the ball end off anyway it has happened now, lets hope we can win the next two games. I agree mate. We always get shite refs!
C.J Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 But what about Yuki Abes new haircut? This has to be the main talking point of the game.
stuartn27 Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 i was at the game yesterday... why do we lack any passion....go foward way to slow.. we all know what they do from the stands...same old.. only good point was when wellens came on we started 2 pass the ball around... apart from that another loss..... defo no peno... but think mills had 2 go..bit of a leg breaker with his follow thro bet west ham are worried.... play offs if lucky
Dan Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Slept on it. Looking forward to Watford but as I've said even if we win both on Wednesday/Saturday (which would be typical LCFC to fail that) then we need to back it up with some good points at West Ham/Burnley. Who knows.
Dan Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 After seeing the decisions again. Mills' red - definite. You simply cannot go in like that, it's not fair, if their bloke goes in for it he gets injured, unfair advantage. Their penalty and our penalty, I think it's very harsh to give one and not the other. From some angles it doesn't look one for them, from others it does. Ours, debatable, he's tried to buy it no doubt about it although I think King's generally an honest player, still though I think giving them one and us none, very harsh - also harsh how we can have a red card and Beausejour can stay on. So yes, not AWFUL decisions, just quite biased, for me.
