Number 6 Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 6 points from the next 2 games please. St Ledger now has his chance to shine. Beckford needs to pull his finger out.
ousefox Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 the good news..thought Peltier had a quality game again, seems like one of our better signings without doubt.
Happy Fox Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 6 points from the next 2 games please. St Ledger now has his chance to shine. Beckford needs to pull his finger out. Absolutely imperative imo, otherwise I can see the Thais pulling the trigger
Matt Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Only got ourselves to blame today, but no doubt people will be blaming the referee, again. Not that I see how they can, The Peno, mistakes happen i'm not gonna go mad at King, he was defending made the mistake but it was a peno, Mills, Idiotic, definate red no-one should have any questions. We had our chances in the first half, we were all over them, but again never took the chances, second half, well we deserved to lose, shame because I believed it was winnable, I expected atleast a draw today.
Happy Fox Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 I still believe that red card for Mills was incredibly harsh, I don't buy the adage that a two footed tackle is a red card, he got the ball end off anyway it has happened now, lets hope we can win the next two games.
Corky Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Should've been called off when the original referee was injured.
accessory Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 2 away wins in 8 months and no away goals in the last 3 games. Hardly the stuff of promotion contenders. Sven needs to rethink tactics and very quickly. We played for another 0-0 and then after conceding the penalty didn't have a plan B. If we play like that at Upton Park we'll get a hiding.
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 I still believe that red card for Mills was incredibly harsh, I The red card was a red card.. Simple as I'm afraid Players can't do two footed tackles.....
The Year Of The Fox Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Thoroughly deserved to lose that. Woeful doesn't describe it adequately enough. Not sure why the commentators were saying we controlled the first half, cos we didn't. Blatant red card, a possible dubious penalty tho I can see how the ref gave it bearing in mind he gets to see it once. Ours was a blatant pen too though. King would've been through on goal but for the obstruction. Too many long balls for my liking
skinnydipper Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Just a bad day at the office. Too many heavy first touches that put us in trouble, poor delivery/choice of pass in the final third and our failure to create anything of note was disappointing. Didn't really deserve anything from the game which is saying something given how poor Birmingham were. Kaspar was again superb, Beckford looked disinterested. Still, overall points haul from a tough run of games has been decent. Just hope we don't balls it up against some of the so-called lesser teams.
Father Ted Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 So people are going to defend the ref for not giving Beasojour a 2nd yellow when he should have had one? Could have been sent off first half as well. And what about the penalty we should have had when King was blocked?
Callabinho Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 We were not disgraceful by any means, We looked decent at times and when we flowed our movement was pretty sharp. I'm confident had we not conceded a stupid penalty early in the second half we would had probably nicked it! People waffling on about it being the wrong formation well I guess you cant please any body, don't forget that this formation destroyed Derby last week. We all just need to take a breath bite our lips and look forward to the next game. People are reacting as if we have been battered 5-0 had we not have lost mills or conceded a penalty who's to say we wouldn't have nicked it. I'm sorry but today was not Svens doings, it was the sloppy penalty and the lets face it a poor tackle from Mills. We are a better football team than Birmingham and come the end of the season the table i'm sure will reflect that. Move on people and get behind the lads.
Bugg Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 It's a good job we went a goal down, it really galvanized the team after going one down and made the game a lot more entertaining because of it For the record, Birmingham were equally as shit as we were, Mills stupidity at one down lost us the game.
Guest shearfox Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 How we lost this game I don't know, Birmingham were poor today and we let them take the points.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 6 points from the next 2 games please. St Ledger now has his chance to shine. Beckford needs to pull his finger out. and wash his hands afterwards . . . . .
Fox92 Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 I still believe that red card for Mills was incredibly harsh, I don't buy the adage that a two footed tackle is a red card, he got the ball end off anyway it has happened now, lets hope we can win the next two games. *lets hope we can win the next 35 games And, I thought Mills' tackle deserved a red card. He totally jumped in with two feet.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 So people are going to defend the ref for not giving Beasojour a 2nd yellow when he should have had one? Could have been sent off first half as well. And what about the penalty we should have had when King was blocked? The ref was shocking today, 3 or 4 very poor decisions ruined the game
southdevonfox Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 The red card was a red card.. Simple as I'm afraid Players can't do two footed tackles..... brum were crap, and leicester poor display made them look good .
Matt Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 How we lost this game I don't know, Birmingham were poor today and we let them take the points. Erm, we were poorer?
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 I'm trying to find something positive to say but struggling. The first half was solid but Brum came out the blocks second half and caught us with our pants down. I thought Danns was non existent, Nugent had nothing to feed off and Beckford looks like a clown at present. Wellens improved matters when he was introduced but the lack of width in that team today was clear to see. The refs decisions IMO were correct so no blame to be laid at his feet. And again it was soooooo fookin borin Despite good wins at home, (positive positive...) our lack of adventure away from home indicates Svens reticence to go and try to win games certainly when playing away. 13th in the division.. People content with this? Really? Honestly? And Nick... Rather than your continued efforts at trolling around, do try to give some sort of opinion on the game. It might be worth a read? I fully expect us to go on and beat Watford in the week but this inconsistency of performances must be addressed if we are to have any chance of promotion. I'm happy to say it and don't give a fook on the comeback.. The inconsistency is very much like last season.. Only this season we have spent shit loads and aren't relying on loanees...
Socks Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 crap especially after we dominated the possesion for the 1st half (most of the game) wrong formation, wrong tactics - AGAIN absolutely no pace/threat/attack just lots of passing if sven thinks thats how he will get us promoted playing like that then hes the wrong man for us which I am now starting to think... but gives St Ledger a chance to shine and I do think he is quality Beckford is just shit, waste of money
wellyfox Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Final ball and dead ball crossing is dire. No real pressure put on em first half for all the possesion. No complaints Must do better and work on crossing. Five crazy mins fvcked us at the start of the second they came out we did'nt end of.
Corky Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Beckford suffered from the same as the other strikers- little service. The shot at the end was dreadful but he was frustrated. Slight positive was another good display from Peltier. The diamond will work at home but away we need to re-think.
