Birmingham Post Match Thread

Pretty inept performance to be honest.

I had reservations about what we had put together but even I didn't expect us to be bottom half at this stage.

Away from home is a big problem, we don't even look like having a shot in target let alone scoring a goal.

Agree with what some of said about a lot of our fans having a midtable attitude, I'm only interested in top 2, I couldn't care less how far we are off the play offs. We didn't shell out all this cash to get a 1 in 4 chance in a lottery at the end of the season.

Quite worrying we are already at the stage of "if we win the next two" etc etc feels like the end of last season already.

But what about Yuki Abes new haircut? This has to be the main talking point of the game.

Agreed. It's a shame it didn't make the 'highlights'.

The long and short of it is it's an improvement.

Who said we had no cutting edge.

I thought Yuki had some hairy moments yesterday.

If Graham Barber was the ref things may have been different though.

Few things.

Firstly, I'll start with this thread. How a single one of you lot can even believe there's a manager "Ambitious" knows about, fvcking incredible.

I'm pretty sure if you read back, NOBODY was taking him seriously. lol

It's the rank inconsistency that lets us down. The two teams that will go up automatic will be the most consistent that is an obvious fact in any league. The only reason I could think of for that performance yesterday was bad managerial tactics. How can the same team that took Derby apart have played so bloody negatively?

Don't bother with the answers on a post card malarkey. We all know it stems from what they have been told to do and that is the reason for such a piss poor display . I would never normally criticize my teams manager but for the first time I think it has to be said that we are not going to be promoted with Sven at the helm.

So do the owners take a gamble and replace him now while we may still have a chance ? I think the answer is yes . What have they got to loose ? sure it would mean upset but a more positive minded manager with a good knowledge of how to get us out of this league could still turn it around. I believe we do have the players to get us up just not with this manager.

For those of us who have seen most of this seasons games we know deep in our hearts that automatic promotion is no longer going to happen , it just does not feel right . I can think of only one game ( Derby ) where I felt comfortable and confident in all three points and that says it all one match. Yes it is still early in the season but you just know from being a city fan all these years that we are simply not good enough .

As we all know the owners have paid out and will continue to pay out a lot of money. Put yourself in their shoes would you be considering looking for a new manager? I know I blood well would. I have a feeling things are afoot and someone is being lined up and it will happen sooner than later.

One WUM goes, another one jumps into the void.laugh.gif

Ambitious, now that you're banned - is that you?

Besides - we'll only know who's getting automatically promoted comes the end of the season. Right now, all this talk is purely hypothetical.

the most consistent team will go up, fact? so if we get a draw in every single game, consistently, we will go up?

When wellens came on he gave us loads more time and space and actually worked the ball well instead of the hopefull long balls into no where.

Beckford shouldnt even be rated yet needs to get a run of games before anyone can judge him seen some flak flying at him on here

Sven needs to drop his bell boy and start beckford n nuge

Peace out

When Wellens starts he "does nothing" and we want him dropped and when he doesnt start we want back in. I think dropping him may be the kick in the backside he needed. I know we were losing but he looked a lot more decisive and inscisive when he played. We know can pick a great pass and add drive but hadn't been recently. Also notice that Abe actually gets passed to when he doesn't play? Back in next game for Yuki I think.

Hopefully being hungry applies to Beckford too. Gosh, we need it. Darius didn't do much wrong but going out and getting two new strikers over the summer for that much, we gotta play them.

On Sven out... If he goes, how many of the players will leave too? I'd wager they joined Sven's Army rather than Leicester City.

Here's to a good win tomorrow.

Just a word on our support on Sunday.

Started excellently, but after they scored it became one of the most toxic away ends I've been involved in recently. The singing all but stopped and was replaced (at least where I was sitting) by repeated cries of "break the cvnt's legs" and other unhelpful and vicious shouts.

I just don't get why you'd go to the football and embarrass yourself like that. Nobody likes a bad loser and you would have thought that the sort of cretins coming out with this rubbish could at least translate their energy into a starting a chant or something.

Joined 'Svens Army'!

Don't be naive... They joined because of the wages and transfer fees they would receive. You honestly think that Danns, Mills and the like would have joined us if they were going to take a drop in salary?

lol

No I'm not a wind up merchant just putting a opinion , christ almighty is that not allowed on here then ? I could take the stance that anyone who posts on here who thinks Sven will get us promoted is a wind up merchant by that logic. Dismissing my post simply as a wum is not very clever is it. By all means give a cogent argument as to why you think I am wrong but please don't resort to glib responses that is all I ask .

I can accept that. I have a hard time when people dragging managers like Hughes out and that kind of manager is way off. I know one swedish manager that maybe has the intellect to replace Sven. Rikard Norling, not anyway near his contacts and star approach but Sven can act like a mentor.

I think every club looks to the future and wants a manager for years like Manure with Fergie but it's hard. When we already has a star manager like Sven it's very tough to get a manager capable of more than Sven. I can't see it. Look at Mourinho at Real Madrid. Is he the star manager as before??? Sven is among the top 20 in the world so it will be interesting to see what name comes out of your hat.

by the way Rikard Norling isn't on my top 50 list over managers but he is a manager with the capacity to reach top 20 with a bit of luck.

The person me and the Chief Executive are thinking of is much more better known in this country than Norling. Nice to see there's someone in this forum who's on the same wavelength as me.
