Tielemans63 Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 One shot on target in 90 mins.1st half I thought we were good and that we'd kick on in the second. We really panicked after the pen which we didn't need to. Why Beausejour wasn't sent off for a cynical challenge on Pelts when he was already on a booking I don't know. We just lost our heads completely then. I still think we need a winger or two - we need to be able to switch from a narrow game to a wider approach when it isn't working.
Joe. Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 I am ****ing fuming! £30 and what a load of bullshit! People can blame the referee all they like! Our performance was not good enough! What is all this ****ing bullshit with the long ball! Pass and move, pass and move pass and move . Vassell, Nugent, Beckford and Konchesky are all a ****ing waste of space! Why Eriksson paid £4million for Beckford I'll never know. We're 13th in the league and that is not good enough, simple as, no more excuses for Eriksson, this isn't good enough, he seems to be going for draws away from home and that in my opinion is a ****ing insult, message to Susan Whelan: any more continuous crap performances like this in the near future and pull the ****ing trigger! 1. He didn't. 2. And most importantly, you sir, are a bloody moron. We are ELEVEN games into the season.
Ambitious Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 No, anything less than a win is unacceptable, end ****ing of.
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 I don't get to see many live games nowadays as I live i Yorkshire and can't get to the ground. Watched todays game on TV and I can't seriosly believe that SJE is held in such high regard on this board. He has been a money grabbing mercenary ever since he left the England job ( and some would argue during that time as well!). How can any supposed top manager have a budget in the Championship of the size he has and yet still produce a team with- - such a slow tempo of play - no midfield player who can carry the ball - no effective wide players whatever ( I thought we were supposed to have two players for every postion?) - no natural leader ( a la Steve Walsh/Matt Elliott) I think it's for two reasons: A. He's a nice bloke. No fuss, no aggro, pleasantly goes about his job... Therefore popular B. How much do Top and the gang really know about football? As I posted on another thread I believe if Sven were Dowie, Allen or Megson he would have been out by now However, cos he's a nice fella does it make him the man to take us up? I would guess that any neutral watching that game today, who didn't follow City every week would consider us to be a very average side. Give it till Christmas....by then I reckon we will be 6th/7th
Ambitious Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 We would be stupid to sack Sven. No, there's much better managers out there, I'm beginning to think he's past it.
Schlupp Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 No, there's much better managers out there, I'm beginning to think he's past it. They're has been 11 games through the season we've basicly brought a whole new team,Do you seriously think they would've gelled so quickly and we would've been top of the league?

HEGGSY Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 No, anything less than a win is unacceptable, end ****ing of. I understand that, however you saying those players are a waste of space is ridiculous because I garauntee that after last week you were praising all those players, you know full well we can't win every game and I know the money we have spent warrants high expectation, but honestly you need to get some perspective. At least were not Forest
Schlupp Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Oh dear.. We're back to 'gelling'... You expect a bunch of players who hardly know each other to work as a team well?
phildw Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 "There has long been a suspicion that Sven has a screw loose - or is a loose screw - but there is a real danger that his expensively assembled Leicester team could soon collapse after some very ordinary results and performances so far this season. Given all the money spent, the team has an amazingly ordinary look about it. A forward line of Vassells and Nugent isn't going to strike fear into the opposition, even though they have amassed 23 England caps and 7 international goals between them. Both only have a 50% strike rate when aiming at a barn door from 5 yards, whilst Beckford is a moody bastard who is unlikely to respond positively to the Swede's failure to start him. Former Hammer Konchesky was never great at his best and is another whose two caps say more about the paucity of English born talent than his ability. How out of place did he look in a Liverpool shirt last season? Paintsil is another familiar to Hammers fans and we never saw much to suggest that he was anything other than ordinary. King is decent but nothing more and the same goes for Danns and Fernandes. How has so much been spent to assemble such an ordinary looking team? Much more mid table mediocrity and Sven will surely be sent flat packing just like another former England manager who was shown the door early up the road in Nottingham. Is it any wonder the England team have won nothing since 66 with clowns like this in charge?" Think that about sums it up!!!!

Eriksson should have signed them all on pre contractual agreements in May and June, contracts commencing from 1st July, they'd have had all pre-season together, enough time to start to gel, but I suppose Eriksson knows best
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 You expect a bunch of players who hardly know each other to work as a team well? What like they did only two weeks ago you mean? Yes of course I do.. Stop making excuses We need consistency.. Without it there will be no promotion

That's not good enough Schlupp
Bugg Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Sacking a manager at this point of the season would be shocking. Who would any of you suggest to take over as manager then? Cause no doubt if they came in they'd want a considerable budget to sign their own players. Annoying how in the space of two weeks our fans go from elation to wanting to throw themselves off a building because of a loss against a strong side.
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 Just a bad game tbf,I honestly doubt we'll get automatic anyway if I'm honest. How's this for positive... It's clear so far that we will win a few, lose a few.. I reckon we will scratch around and will probably sneak a play off place, most probably in 5th or 6th position... I think this will be because we have spent money on some decent players at this level and that they will just about have it in them to do it. IMO success in this respect won't be about SGE's management skills, it will be about the players just about performing well enough. But somehow we will get there.. I think Positive enough for ya?

Bugg, theres many managers that would be doing a better job than Sven, I can't understand why he's so well admired, the guy hasn't won anything for 11 years for **** sake! and after that every job he's had, he's ****ed up. I admit he's a nice guy, but I'd sooner have a nasty bastard who'll win us the league and continually improve and develop our football status, rather than a nice guy who can't even get us in the Play Offs.

Callabinho Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 **** me lengthways and call me shirly, the performance wasn't brilliant today but it wasn't bad enough to warrant a wrist slitting session, we played well in patches but all chances of us kicking on in the second half were dashed due to a penalty and Matt Mills thinking he was a long jumper. All this Sven out bollocks is getting on my wick! We have a team of humans not robots, we will win some loose, some go on good runs and some bad runs, we just need be there to spur the lads on!
Schlupp Posted 16 October 2011 Posted 16 October 2011 If you say Martin O'Neil you realise a high profile manager like O'Neil can do better than us now?

And you'd probably want a manager who has won barely anything in his career. Can you name these "many" managers?
