somebum Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 How about admitting HE isn't good enough? You can blame the players for so long, but sooner or later you will get the P45
Guest shearfox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Millwall are one of the worst sides in the league, it's just so far from not good enough it's unreal.
Corky Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Why aren't we good enough? This is your squad Sven, you've had superb resources and support at your disposal, we should be doing far better. I still support you but any more like today and my patience will wear very thin, and I don't want that to happen.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Why doesnt he come out and take the blame? Its his squad, and no one else can be blamed for the lack of width, and the fact we have too many CM's in the squad. Why not say that he got his selection wrong, and his bench and his substitutions? Getting sick of it really, just admit it Sven.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 'were' not good enough. The apostrophe makes alot of difference!
He's not bald Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15416348.stm FFS "maybe I should have changed 3 or 4 players"...maybe you should know what you need to do? he really is winding me up now...he is a bloody idiot!!!
Callabinho Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 For gods sake Sven picked a winning team, what the **** is he supposed to do? Once the players cross that white line it's down to them, it's what they get paid thousands to do, Sven can't hold their hands on the pitch.
Nocturnal Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 'were' not good enough. The apostrophe makes alot of difference! Exactly. People are stupid.
shen Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 How about admitting HE isn't good enough? You can blame the players for so long, but sooner or later you will get the P45 I clearly understand the "we're" as "myself and the players"
Mack Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 He sounds out of ideas to me. He made a rod for his own back when he failed to sign any wide players in the summer.

I think if he'd have changed it, people would be calling for his head because he changed a winning team.

And stop to not back our team you bastard I have put you up un my blackboard.... :scarf:
Rodders Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Firstly, don't twist the man's words. He said we were not good enough in the first half of this one game, not that the squad are not good enough per se. Secondly, he doesn't fail to take responsibility: "we were not good enough", "we should blame ourselves". And he admits that he probably should have freshened things up after Wednesday. The basic argument is as follows: we weren't good enough today. This is because the players were tired. This is because it was the same starting 11 as on Wednesday evening and they were playing their second game in less than 3 days. The solution: squad rotation. Bring in Vassell, Gallagher, Fernandes, Danns for Beckford, King, Abe, Wellens, and the result may well have been very different. There is no fundamental problem in the quality of the first team or the depth of the squad. I'm as disappointed and angry about today's result as anyone, but we lost today's game based on, amittedly, a naive team selection, and as long as Sven doesn't try this kind of tactic again, I won't overreact. A little perspective, please, people. P.S. Peterborough Fox - the large number of centre mids and lack of wide midfielders/wingers is simply a refletion of Sven's 4-4-2 diamond formation - the same 4-4-2 diamond he used with England. With two quick, attacking full-backs, this can be very effective. The problem we have with this system is Paul Konchesky, who is just too slow and about as much use as a short-sighted, three-legged racehorse. It's the full-back who's the problem, not the midfield. But my dislike of Paul Konchesky is a topic for another time...
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Is it time for Sven to go? or should we give him until christmas?
Schlupp Posted 22 October 2011 Author Posted 22 October 2011 Is it time for Sven to go? or should we give him until christmas? Thing is thou,Another manager isn't really going to help anything seeing as he can't make any major changes.
Rodders Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Is it time for Sven to go? or should we give him until christmas? And getting rid of Sven would achieve what exactly? Give some reasons, man. He got it wrong today, but before this, we had, what, 5 clean sheets and 5 wins in 6 games? And the 6th game, Birmingham, was a one-off, which changed based on an injury to the ref, a rash challenge by King and an even rasher challenge by Mills. Not too much to complain about there. And Derby was possible the best performance I've seen by a Leicester team in 12 years of watching City.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Thing is thou,Another manager isn't really going to help anything seeing as he can't make any major changes. something has to change though surely, losing 3-0 at home against a woeful side just isnt good enough, is it?
Nocturnal Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Even if we did sack him, the compensation would be massive. Another manager would come in and spend even more money bringing in his own players. From the Thai's point of view it would probably be better to just let his contract run out.

Soo I think every englishmen is better as a manager in Leicester then Sven or on MAN. U or else come on, we don´t like all managers in England and of course not Sven he is Swedish :scarf: I am soo too :scarf: :scarf: Looking forward April next year when we are in prem and those people who is moaning now burn in hell! Here we goes :scarf:
Guest shearfox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 The mistake was Sven didn't utilise the squad depth we have, he went for the same side that had played less than three days ago...
Rodders Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 The mistake was Sven didn't utilise the squad depth we have, he went for the same side that had played less than three days ago... Exactly. Would you sack him based just on this one mistake? I certainly wouldn't.
Cropwellfox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 It's the coaching set-up around the first team which i think is now starting to prove it's not good enough. Fazackerley and Stowell as the two main men is simply rediculous given all the money we've spent on players. We all know how effective Stowell was the last time he was involved in coaching more than our goalkeepers, and as for Fazackerley - he leaves Huddersfield and they start a 38 game unbeaten league run.... Anybody who thinks that this current set-up is doing anything other than a bad job given all of the resources they have had is just wrong. The fact that Eriksson doesn't seem to be doing anything different at all is even more worrying. We're going nowhere other than plodding along at about 1.3 points a game with the current managerial set-up....
