TrentFox Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 Hehe great post..... Actually, all joking aside, the thought that occurred to me was how few goalkeepers seem to make the top grade as managers. I thought about trawling throught the top 2 leagues and looking at what position, (primarily), the current top 44 managers had held in their playing days. Clearly, a keeper is only 1 out of 11 positions, so would be down on a pro-rata basis, but even so ......
davieG Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 Merc Darius Vassell and Lloyd Dyer are major injury doubts for Leicester City's trip to face Burnley tonight. The attacking duo have undergone scans on a leg injury and groin injury respectively after limping off during City's 3-2 defeat at West Ham United on Saturday. Coach Mike Stowell, who is in temporary charge for tonight's game at Turf Moor with academy manager Jon Rudkin, said it was unlikely the duo would be ready to face the Clarets. But City will be boosted by the return of captain Matt Mills after his three-game suspension, and Paul Gallagher could also start. "It's not looking too clever for Darius, he landed on a straight leg and had to come off," said Stowell. "We had to make a change and then Lloyd had to come off too with his groin, so the game was throwing all kinds of things at us. "It was very disappointing, especially Lloydy's, who had not been on long but had already given us extra pace and then got hurt in a challenge. "We've got a few sore heads and a few aching bodies, but the second-half performance was excellent at West Ham and we are ready for Burnley." Steve Howard is again likely to start on the substitute's bench. He made a significant impact after replacing Jermaine Beckford in the second half, and Stowell described the 35-year-old as City's 'Plan B'. "It showed we had options," said Stowell. "We haven't had a Plan B for a while and Stevie coming on was ours. I thought he was awesome. "He is so glad to be involved and it is great for us to feed off the big man. That's how it should be sometimes, and there is nothing wrong with going direct. "Jermaine is a bit frustrated and he is only really happy when he is scoring. His record speaks for itself and he will get goals."

burni Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 Kasper Peltier Mills Bamba kon (before the sending off and penaulty we have to remember there was 4,5 clean sheets) Johnson Fernandez Danns King Howard Nugent Subs: Weale, St ledger, gallagher, Beckford, Schlupp Think we could be on the back foot a bit tonight. Howard as target man with nugent playing off him with king coming in with some late runs. Gallagher for some decent deliveries, abe needs a rest `and wellens need to earn his place
