Guest Col city fan Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 Just got in from work and caught the goals on sky. Shows what being adventurous away from home can do. Magic result However.. What the fook was kasper doing with that punch for their goal? He punched it straight onto Ross Wallaces bloody head!
He's not bald Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 Well done,we'veh also let in more thanmost of our away games this season so that means you are right. Sven haters, a sad and deluded breed. We couldn't possibly have won this if he'd been manager still so Top made the right decision. Hurrah, and sleep tight knowing thst a new manager, who incidentally we haven't got 8 daya after the sacking, will takw us up to the promised land, unless its keane, or Clark, or Pearson, or lennon, or any of the other no names coming to save us. Blimey! how much Special Brew have you had?
marbelladave Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 Lazy Sod OS Report BBC Report Really wanted to hear from a City supporter who was at the game and can actually say what contributed to the result. Come on, you've read my 'analysis' often enough, anyone care to return the favour?......

What the fook was kasper doing with that punch for their goal? He punched it straight onto Ross Wallaces bloody head! Slightly off balance when he went for it? Not sure but he's been so good that he's allowed a little "error" every once in a while. Still not seen Konchesky's goal, can't wait by the sound of it !!
Donut Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Wonderful result, a very very good 3 points. Thought their keeper if anything could have done a little better on the Konchesky goal. It was hit powerfully but more or less straight at him. Unless it was swerving all over the place i though he could have turned it around the post. The build up for the second goal was terrific, and Gally's cross can only be described as pinpoint onto Nuge's head. And the penalty was a penalty. Ball had gone, Wellens blocked off.....its a foul outside the penalty area, so its a foul inside. Really pleased that this result has helped lift some of the negativity/bitterness around the club. From the offset it was clear that we were going to be more creative tonight and look to take the game to the opposition and the attitude and application of the players was not in question tonight. A potential onlooking manager tonight couldnt help but be impressed by the application of the players. If we can sustain performances like 2nd half at West Ham, and the game tonight, promotion is still very much on the agenda. The key now is building momentum and making sure we carry this forward. Lets not make this a flash in the pan result, lets take this momentum forwards.
The Doctor Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 love it when out driking with a burnley fan, banter galore when gallagher made it 3-1.
mrgarrison16 Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Dunno if this has already been posted but does anyone know what happened with a load of our fans getting kicked out. Bout 20 minutes a long line of Leicester fans, mostly youngish too, were being led out from near the top of the stand
Kitchandro Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Having seen the hihglights on Sky... Konchesky's goal wasn't that good. It was well struck but the goalkeeper should have done better. Kasper's got no excuses for his error. But it's his first one and we won so I won't worry too much. 2nd goal was superb, great cross. The penalty could have gone either way IMO. You could see it as Wellens running into the defender, or you could say the defender blocked him off. The ball was not in the defender's control that's for sure. But the morons at Sky typically get Wellens mixed up with King. It's not even the first time they've done it.
acooling08 Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Has anyone got the goals, or do I have to wait a few days for it to be on the BBC?

Kitchandro Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 First positive thing I've seen you say, although the rest of your post is on form. So shouldn't the goalkeeper have saved it then? Shouldn't Kasper have done better? Shouldn't Sky be getting player's names right?
MJ27 Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Just got back from the game, and absolutely delighted with that. Not an easy place to go under the floodlights, but we did really well 2nd half. After the Burnley goal, we were completely on the back foot, and did really well to hold on until half time, and we came out brilliantly after the break. In terms of players, I thought Nugent, Gallagher and Wellens were strong. Andy King was completely anonymous, and my five non Leicester friends I took along joked all the way through about how awful at defending Konchesky was. Still, really positive, and such a needed 3 points.
Bangkok Mick Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 WOW.... f**king YES just woke up to go to work.... was going to be a tough day....... not now Off to Tenerife next week with my mate who has ordered a villa shirt to wear on the way out. Ok so I went straight to KP to get my city shirt. 1-1 fair enough? B*llocks. Also bought big city flag for the balcony but will keep that a secret until we get there.... 2-1 I believe. Amazing how football affects you ain`t it?
Wink Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 And all this with our '20 goal a season striker' on the bench... Hopefully he will see he needs to put the effort in, he has the qualities no doubt! This performance shows we have quality but its the application that counts!! Much more positive, and only 2 points off play offs... Now to get the managers position wrapped up before the Leeds game! THIS COULD BE THE GAME THAT KICK STARTS OUR SEASON!!!
foxfanazer Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Brilliant result, well pleased! Great job by Stilwell and co so far but I think it would be a mistake to give them the job in the long term. For me we need to get back to basics and play the players that deserve to be in the squad even if they aren't "big names" ie. beckford. Tactics and line up were spot on last night :-) I know we didn't always play the most attractive football under him but I'd be delighted if we got Pearson back! At least u know the players on the pitch will be giving 100% for him whereas some of them were giving 60% for Sven. Eee ay eee ay eee ay o up the football here we go!

I hope you enjoyed Cardiff and Middlesborough away then because we didnt concede any goals...

Sods Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 David Nugent 3 goals in his last 6 and 5 in 11 starts this season is a good start for the club. All we need now is his partner who ever it may be to start chipping in. Im glad Howard is starting to play but I still feel Beckford will come good and if both of them are on form, we will win more times then not. Hope Nugent stays fit as he always looks like he might get a goal. Its amazing how we have scored 5 in two games away from home, we never looked like doing that under Sven especially away from home - I honestly don't believe we would of won last night under sven, but probably wouldn't off conceded 2 in 2 minutes against West Ham, we could of had 2 points of these two games under Sven. 3 points and 5 goals is will only bring confidence. Bastard international break might **** us up again then. Whoever is the manager must see that our best defence is attack.

I think 3 points against Leeds, then the new 'manager' can have the break to work with the team. It'll also be a chance to freshen up after the drama of all of this Sven melarchy!
marbelladave Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Morning, Just read through a few of the morning papers, match reports are mostly useless, those that actually bothered to say anything about the game rather than our 'situation'. If you read the match thread, you will know I was very pessimistic before the start but the result really cheered me up, amazing...... It has been my view all season that we have been consistently poor as a team, poor team selection, setup, tactics, etc so that those occassions that we have played well have been down to a couple of players 'stepping up' rather than any improvement in in our team play. Not going last night, I am in no position to comment on the details of our performance but one thing (the only thing in fact) that was clear from the commentary is that we still are not defending as a unit. I feel that all our defenders are pretty decent individually but as a unit they simply do not play together. The backup and covering of each other is often woeful so that if a player makes any kind of mistake there is no help to be had from his colleagues and the result is often a chance for the opposition.

The article in the Guardian was quite good today. I only heard the last 20 minutes of the match but they made it sound like Bamba was a bit of a bombscare at the back last night. Nugent is a hero.
The Doctor Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 To be fair Al you did say that he said Burnley weren't very good. And? We're not exactly world beaters ourselves.

I heard the whole match and it sounded that Bamba other the a couple of scares had a good game!! Overall, just glad to get the win and hopefully install some confidence!! Danns seemed to be the weakest of our lot!!
