nuttytimmy Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 In honour of tonight's epic win I have a new banner on my blog.
Tielemans63 Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 Great result, it just goes to show that those of us who felt Steve Howard to still had a role to play were right. Well done lads. Oh and who gives a shiz what Burnley fans think?
LukeyZade Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 What a tool, bet you were one of the fans that was jumping for joy when it was announced that he was going to be our manager probs
liamsm Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 Still couldn't keep a clean sheet.... what an idiot, we WON wake up
James18 Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 Great win! Sounded quite soild in all areas tbf. Referee not against us for once and we win..... Onto the management issue, I say keep Stowell in for Leeds.
Night Air Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 WHO THE FUCK?, WHO THE FUCK? WHO THE FUCKING HELL IS SVEN?
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 I think they should leave the caretakers in for Leeds - but let it be known that the new gaffer is in the stands...give the players an extra incentive...
Finnegan Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 Jesus. As delighted as I am, this means I'm going to have to watch Steve Howard on Sunday doesn't it?
lcfc_sam_p Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 So were 6 points from 4th bottom and 6 points from 2nd? Typical championship.
Corky Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 Let's not go on about Sven. He tried his best, it didn't work, he's gone. We've had a good win tonight, let's enjoy that rather than dig at Sven.
Father Ted Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 We would not have won this with Sven in charge. 1 win and 1 loss > 2 draws
EnderbyFox Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 Slightly off-topic, but Brighton havn't won a game since we beat them
Ron Combo Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 Let's not go on about Sven. He tried his best, it didn't work, he's gone. We've had a good win tonight, let's enjoy that rather than dig at Sven. Well said.

Amen to that, wish people would just stop digging at him and equally those who see every bad move as a way to have a go at the decision to sack him.
Thracian Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 Congratulations to Paul Gallagher on his goal, an assist and his MoM award but he should probably share the latter with Rudkin, Stowell and Beaglehole for going to Burnley with the right team and the right sense of purpose. Because if we're to get promotion 3-1 away wins at places like Burnley are just the right recipe. The only disappointment was that Schluppy failed to finish after getting into such a good position for a fourth goal at the finish...a sure sign that weeks of inactivity have cost him his edge for which our staff should be ashamed given how little Beckford contributed. We seemed to benefit tonight from having two full-of-effort strikers and a contribution from pretty much every part of the pitch. I'm still not convinced about Danns but well done "makeweight" wing-back Konchesky for a cracking opening goal. Nugent's second sounded like the result of a cracking move with gallagher prominent and although the penalty sounded a bit soft we were due a break and ending Burnley's four-year 28 game unbeaten run in midweek was a welcome feather of success in our so-far faltering season. Our management team were short of options but were fully rewarded for a positive outlook even though Kasper's rare mistake with a poor punch - something that has seemed iffy in pre-match warm-ups in the past, gave Burnley a short spell of encouragement up to half-time. It helps, I suppose that the Academy staff are used to winning and used to having to deal with considerable disruption in available personnel. Whatever their courage in retaining Howard as a genuine target man - he seemed to win stacks of flick-ons - of using Gallagher to get the ball in the box and Nugent to feed off the bits worked perfectly. Wellens seemed well involved in our important moves and Kingy seemed to be finding something useful to do almost everywhere. Three great points and a measure of congratulation to the defence for keeping some lively forwards quiet. Hope for the future remains although I'm not so sure about the prospect of Keane as manager. Yet he's got a winning mentality as a player but I'm no longer sure he's got the wisdom to be a top clas manager. OGS remains the choice for me.
MC Prussian Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 We would not have won this with Sven in charge. 1 win and 1 loss > 2 draws We won away from home. Enjoy the evening instead of slagging off Eriksson again. He's gone and whether we would've won or not tonight under his guidance is mere speculation. Still, the table will look a bit different once the other teams around us have played 15 games as well.
GH1 Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 Great result.........but let's not get all emotional and wanting stowell. He's doing a good holding role until the manager arrives

Corky Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 Seems like Gallagher had quite an impact on his return. If he can play consistently well we've got a very useful player on our books, and importantly someone who isn't afraid to shoot.
acooling08 Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 Jesus. As delighted as I am, this means I'm going to have to watch Steve Howard on Sunday doesn't it? Yeah mate, let's get Beckford back in. Can I borrow your image??
liamsm Posted 1 November 2011 Posted 1 November 2011 Liamsm: You are a fooking moron. hahaha, i suggest you look in the mirror ( if you dare )

Well, if Stowelly steps back after Sunday, im confident he will leave us in the play offs
