Captain... Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I can, Neil Warnock. We ended up with nice guys Megson and Holloway.... worked out well..... for QPR. I don't remember many fans wanting Megson, but you're right about Holloway being a popular choice, as was Sven. there is also a big difference between Warnock and Keane in that one is an annoying whiny little ****, but the other is just a cvnt. Kinda like the difference between Robbie Savage and Dennis Wise. Would anyone want Dennis Wise to manage this club? If you don't then you may not agree with those that don't want Keane, but you have to understand them.
MC Prussian Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 It's not prejudice at all, it's just that he is possibly one of the most hated people in football & a hell of a lot of City fans don't want this animal as our next manager! I thought we needed some passion at this club, after all this feeling of "complete niceness" under Sven?
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Great to see so many Leicester fans with so much common sense and with so little prejudice. I love you all. (I thought football was all about results, right? Wasn't that why Eriksson got sacked?) I have no 'prejudice' against Roy Keane and I think you are using this term glibly to get a point across.. Its easy to use labels like this What I do have is concern about Keane's alleged management style. He seems to have a massively fiery temper which can be hugely destructive if not tempered with compassion and humanism when needed. He has spent a lot of money on rubbish when at Ipswich and has not come across positively to the fans of any club he's managed. No prejudice, just not for me..i'm sure we can do better We need a bloke who sits in the centre of Sven's 'niceness', and Keane's 'mad-dog' tendencies.
John Matrix Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 one of my fave players of all time. not sold on his management style though. i really can't see players like nugent, bamba, gally, beckford getting along with him either. if players supposedly fell out with sven over traveling and being late to training imagine what will happen with Keano. I'd prefer the owners went with someone a bit less controversial. especially at this stage of the season.
ithuriel Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I'm not keen on Keane but you have peeps saying that who ever come's in should get the full backing of the fan's etc., and then when unfavoured name's are mentioned, before a ball i kicked it is demo time and get him out If Keane come's in i will not like it but i will reserve judgement and see what the result's and football are like first, like i do with all city manager's.

Even "animals" like Keane can learn as they go along in life. A bit of a fiery temper is alright in patches, when needed. He did well with Sunderland and if he came here, he'd be working with players that aren't his. So, there'd be no arguments about "having spent a fortune". Sven's already the scapegoat for that argument.
bluebeau Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I thought we needed some passion at this club, after all this feeling of "complete niceness" under Sven? It would be great to see some passion from the manager, but I doubt you would get that from Keane. He's a cold hearted piece of shit & shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Sven. As people, they are just miles apart. Sven is a gentleman who most people had some good feelings for, whereas Keane is a bloody animal who most people appear to detest. Couldn't see him getting a personal reference off of Nial Quinn, Mick McCarthy, Sir Alex Ferguson, Premiership Ref's etc etc. Why don't you just face the facts? He is not wanted at City by the majority of fans!

ithuriel Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 He has a plan? I thought he just waited in the dressing room with a crowbar ready for if the player's lost
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 He has a plan? I thought he just waited in the dressing room with a crowbar ready for if the player's lost Keane scares the fookin shite out of me...

He waited two years to deliver the tackle that Haaland himself believes caused the end of his career, he never played a full game again. The complete lack of any humanity in his gloating account of the incident is more than enough for me. In a sane world Keane should have got 5 years for GBH......
MC Prussian Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Why don't you just face the facts? He is not wanted at City by the majority of Radio Leicester Phone-In callers! That may be true, but...

Suffolk_fox Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 The Geordies were furious when Alan Pardew was appointed - shouted about the Cockney Mafia taking over their beloved NUFC - I wonder what they think of him now, given their position in the Premiership? I predict the same thing if Keane does well here....

I think it's time to take those tinted goggles off. I didn't like Keane as a footballer, either. Because he seemed like the perfect personification of a big giant c*ck. As for Keane, the manager, well... that's a different scenario. Where's the benefit of the doubt when you need it?

MC Prussian Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Absolutely right... But it would appear that Keane has no management 'plan B' He hasn't even been appointed... yet! And you already deny him of having a "Plan B". Hilarious.

Could I ask what your thoughts are on Steve Walsh?
Suffolk_fox Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Irrelevant...... Whatever Alan Pardew is, he is not a nasty little shit, Keane is....... I'm sure there are players who have put on a Leicester shirt who other supporters could label as nasty little shits....
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 ... but gained promotion with Sunderland. Cant argue with you there MC - thats a fact... without a doubt something clicked there big time... Probably the correct management style worked with the correct bunch of players at that time... Which could happen at City to be fair... Then again, if Keane can't tailor his managerial skills to the circumstances at the time, it may not work - thats my concern with him.

Not sure of your point there...... My view is simple, I do not want our club to have anything to do with him. If they do employ him, even if it's just to clean the lavatories, i'm gone! Some would undoubtably see that as a good thing.......

EDIT: MAYBE now you can somewhat sympathize with the way I felt when Eriksson got sacked.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 He hasn't even been appointed... yet! And you already deny him of having a "Plan B". Hilarious. I'm trying to have a decent conversation with you, if you revert again to your 'little jibes' I'll stop.. Keane failed miserably at Ipswich and the reports were that he 'ruled with an iron fist' excessively and could not adapt his style when needed.
Babylon Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 i'm gone! I thought you had already gone several times over? Might be easier to send the owners a list of things that won't upset you.
