surrifox Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Tony Laughlan (think that's how it's spelt) has gone with him everywhere. Tony used to be at City Ah- cheers for that
Guest MattP Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Surely his success or failure would dictate that? And even then it only proves they are the same as many boards out there, in that it can take quite a few managers to find the right recipe for success. Not really, of all the candidates we could attract picking Keane would show some serious ineptitude on behalf of the people at the top of this club. His record doesn't stand up to a few others, he has had 2 clubs and left both hated and in disgrace and it would alienate a lot of our supporters. Maybe they should stick to shovelling cheap tack out of airports.
Burmesefox Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 presumably keane will bring his trusted lieutenants who worked with him before if he gets the gig - anyone know who they are likely to be? Tony Laughlin is his number 2. I went to school with him and we were quite pally, as we used to catch 2 buses across leicester to home. He played for City Youth side and then went to Forest. Keano says that he is the only man in football that he trusts. About sums up Keano to be honest. He was loathed by all at Sunderland and Ipswich when he left. Keano = trouble. Ask Niall Quinn about him - they didnt speak for over a year and communicated via Quinn's sec. "Marge, could you ask Roy to pass the salt?" "Marge, could you tell Niall to **** off!"
absolutelegend Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Out of the entire list of candidates, he was my last choice. Obviously I won't burn my ST or boo him or anything, I'd just be incredibly disappointed. Personally, I don't like the idea of a thug representing our football club. I also don't believe that in any business, whether football or anywhere else, that employees respond best the Keane brand of management style. Hope to be proved wrong if he is appointed.
Zingari Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I don’t know whether reading some of these posts it is representative of the general feelings of our fans towards Keane , but I must say I’m quite surprised by the level of malcontent shown. i'm starting to be swayed against him being appointed now , but if he is, i'd still give him a chance

Babylon Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Not really, of all the candidates we could attract picking Keane would show some serious ineptitude on behalf of the people at the top of this club. Right. So basically you are saying even if he comes in and does well, you will see him and the appointment as a failure. Nail your colours to the mast early eh.
Dr The Singh Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Right. So basically you are saying even if he comes in and does well, you will see him and the appointment as a failure. Nail your colours to the mast early eh. I can't believe were even discussing this............................. I'm gonna protest\demonstrate againsts those protesters\demonstrators!!
Bellend Sebastian Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 It's the only way and would be, like, totally worth it. Edit: That was a picture of a monk that had set himself on fire. You can probably imagine that without too much difficulty
marbelladave Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Right. So basically you are saying even if he comes in and does well, you will see him and the appointment as a failure. Nail your colours to the mast early eh. Personally I see Keane as a failure as a man. He is a nasty vindictive little cnut and I do not want anything to do with him. If that means I don't get to see my team play then I would live with that rather than 'support' him. Just the way I feel.....
Guest MattP Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Right. So basically you are saying even if he comes in and does well, you will see him and the appointment as a failure. Nail your colours to the mast early eh. I'm saying he won't do well therefore I think it's a bad appointment. In terms of respect as a manager I think I hold him higher than only Souness and Robson. If he does well great, you can all enjoy it, least it's gonna save me a few quid.
MC Prussian Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Keane is pretty much the total opposite of Sven-Göran Eriksson. I thought that was a good thing. I'm surprised he's facing so much resistance.

Babylon Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 If that means I don't get to see my team play then I would live with that rather than 'support' him. You seem to sod off at the drop of a hat anyway, I think you'd probably stop going is they changed the colour of the stewards coats.
Stay Positive Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 You seem to sod off at the drop of a hat anyway, I think you'd probably stop going is they changed the colour of the stewards coats. Please tell me they're not doing that. That would tip me over the edge.
Babylon Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Please tell me they're not doing that. That would tip me over the edge. Yup... changing to pink next year.
Guest MattP Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Yup... changing to pink next year. Only for the Brighton game.
MC Prussian Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I'm going to speak to my local MP about it. I'll go to church and talk to a priest about it. Never been there before.
bluebeau Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I can't recall such strong/anti feelings from fans before, regarding the possible appointment of a new manager, as the possible appointment of Keane. He is a hate figure, I detest the man & I hope & pray he doesn't get the job. As for protesting if he is appointed, it would be too late & completely worthless. The time to protest is now! If you feel strongly about this animal not being our next manager, why not e-mail the football club now & tell them? I am going to e-mail [email protected] as has been suggested by a FT poster, I hope I have got the e-mail address correct? I don't want this moron anywhere near my club!!!
MC Prussian Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Great to see so many Leicester fans with so much common sense and with so little prejudice. I love you all. (I thought football was all about results, right? Wasn't that why Eriksson got sacked?)
Babylon Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I can't recall such strong/anti feelings from fans before, regarding the possible appointment of a new manager, as the possible appointment of Keane. I can, Neil Warnock. We ended up with nice guys Megson and Holloway.... worked out well..... for QPR.

(I thought football was all about results, right? Wasn't that why Eriksson got sacked?) If only the owners knew it was a popularity contest before they sacked Sven.
Kingy_85 Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Down with student fee rises! Wheres the money gone ?

(I thought football was all about results, right? Wasn't that why Eriksson got sacked?) It's not prejudice at all, it's just that he is possibly one of the most hated people in football & a hell of a lot of City fans don't want this animal as our next manager!
