mowmacrefox Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Do you think there will be a demomstration outside the ground if Keane gets the job
Guest MattP Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Doubt it. Would show that our owners are totally incapable of running a successful football club though. Big statement.
Ric Flair Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 What the mince? People are reacting like Robert Mugabe is being lined up to take over. I'm telling you now, there'd be hardly a single soul moaning about this if Keane was appointed after his stint at Sunderland. He had a poor gig at Ipswich but many, many managers at this level fail somewhere early in their careers. I'm not overly keen on Keane but it's now worth giving yourself a hernia over. Dowie is a different story though, haha!
Babylon Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Doubt it. Would show that our owners are totally incapable of running a successful football club though. Big statement. Surely his success or failure would dictate that? And even then it only proves they are the same as many boards out there, in that it can take quite a few managers to find the right recipe for success.

teblin Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 No point in a protest! Whoever is appointed we should get behind and hope that they can bring us promotion. Keane has done that for Sunderland from a lot worse position than we are in now. Dont get me wrong though he wouldn't be my choice.
David Guiza Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 To be fair you wouldn't dare play badly under Mugabe.
David Guiza Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Although, you would be able to get rid of him as easily as Sven. The guy's in it for the long haul.

Bayfox Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Having had an insight into what Keane did at ipswich, scrapping youth systems, buying big and paying even bigger, my season ticket which I have held for 20 odd years now would have to go back. I feel that strongly against having him ruin my club.
Zingari Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Surely his success or failure would dictate that? And even then it only proves they are the same as many boards out there, in that it can take quite a few managers to find the right recipe for success. I think the word recipe is spot on. Getting the right recipe is not always as easy as it seems and time and time again we see managers who seem to work wonders only to move on to become total disasters or vice versa. I personally think he would be a good appointment because I think he could handle the egos , but it really is all about trial and error and even if MON returned maybe the recipe wouldn’t be right this time around . If he gets the job I’d urge us all to get behind him and give both he and the club our total support in whatever decisions they make.
lcfc_sam_p Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Why would you protest? If he gets appointed it'll be too late anyway. Don't think keane is half as bad as everyone makes out.
TMELcfc Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Trust me, Keane IS half as bad as you all think. The bloke is an absolute idiot. Living in Suffolk, i got to see alot into the life of Roy Keane while he was at Ipswich... Everyone hated him, fans, players even backroom staff! He was un approachable. Sunderland getting promoted was a fluke under him! I would drive 3 hours to protest, even if I am the only one!
Fox92 Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I still don't understand people saying 'I am not going' or 'I am returning my season ticket' if Keane is appointed. So, if Keane is appointed, you are going to turn your back on the football club? He did very well at Sunderland and not at Ipswich. Personally, he wouldn't be my number once choice as I think the likes of Billy Davies, Dave Jones and Mark Hughes would be better choices, but whoever the owners choose; I will support. And what is protesting going to do? Other than put the club in the eye again.
surrifox Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 presumably keane will bring his trusted lieutenants who worked with him before if he gets the gig - anyone know who they are likely to be?
MattyFromLE Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I say support whoever they appoint. If they're not getting the results, us getting on their back is going to have a hugely negative effect. I don't like the idea of Keane; maybe he's learnt from previous mistakes? I'm sure Top and Andrew Neville wouldnt appoint someone that they weren't 100% certain can take this club forward.
Zingari Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 presumably keane will bring his trusted lieutenants who worked with him before if he gets the gig - anyone know who they are likely to be? Torquemada and Idi Amin judging by some of the attitudes towards him
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Torquemada and Idi Amin judging by some of the attitudes towards him Tony Laughlan (think that's how it's spelt) has gone with him everywhere. Tony used to be at City
Stay Positive Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I've said it before and I will say it again, I think Keane would do a good job here, IF our fans actually give him a chance. In fact, I'm more concerned about our fans not giving him a chance than I am about Keane himself.
harpendenfox Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Gaddafi would have served his purpose as that 'nasty bas...rd in the hole' we need in midfield until things turned a bit pear shaped for the lad.

marbelladave Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I certainly would not be one of those protesting outside the KP if Keane gets the job. That would be impossible for me because if that happens I have no intention of going near the place...... Without using some seriously offensive language it is impossible for me to say what I feel about this, you can all make up your own minds but I will have nothing to do with the club if he is appointed.
