Captain... Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I think it's time to take those tinted goggles off. I didn't like Keane as a footballer, either. Because he seemed like the perfect personification of a big giant c*ck. As for Keane, the manager, well... that's a different scenario. Where's the benefit of the doubt when you need it? So you would be happy with Dennis Wise as a manager then? He was a cvnt as aplayer but probably changed now he's a manager.
MC Prussian Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I'm trying to have a decent conversation with you, if you revert again to your 'little jibes' I'll stop.. Keane failed miserably at Ipswich and the reports were that he 'ruled with an iron fist' excessively and could not adapt his style when needed. That was with Ipswich... it worked with Sunderland. So did he have a "Plan B" there as well, or was "Plan A" good enough? Same with Sven... Did well abroad, then failed miserably at Leicester.
nickelbyfox Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 The Geordies were furious when Alan Pardew was appointed - shouted about the Cockney Mafia taking over their beloved NUFC - I wonder what they think of him now, given their position in the Premiership? I predict the same thing if Keane does well here.... And thats the turth! If he came here and we went unbeaten for the rest of the season and won the league, not sure I would be worrying as much as some atm
MC Prussian Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 So you would be happy with Dennis Wise as a manager then? He was a cvnt as aplayer but probably changed now he's a manager. Irrelevant. Dennis Wise has not been approached, Keane has.
marbelladave Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Could I ask what your thoughts are on Steve Walsh? I'm sure there are players who have put on a Leicester shirt who other supporters could label as nasty little shits.... Met Walshie a few times in Spain, Mrs M knew his 'girlfriend' at that time, good company on occassions and a real twat others. Not on the same planet with regards to cold blooded nastyness though. I had no time for Wise during his spell with us either, was not going to games at that time so didn't need to worry much about it. Players like Lennon and Dickov could be right bastards on the pitch but I always thought it was just 'part of the game' to them......
Master Fox Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I’ll come down there with a water cannon full of shit and blow you fvckers down.
BIEREDeLuxe Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I’ll come down there with a water cannon full of faeces and blow you fvckers down. It would be funnier if you used shit.
marbelladave Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Do you think the owners would care? EDIT: MAYBE now you can somewhat sympathize with the way I felt when Eriksson got sacked. The owners might not care, but I would, that's enough for me....... Regarding Sven, I never called for him to be sacked, I was genuinely sad to see him go. My only problem with Sven was that he did not seem able to properly prepare and motivate a team to be consistently competitive in the championship. I have, for several months, called for us to employ a first team coach with Sven in overall control as Director of Football. I think we missed a trick there although it is quite possible that Sven would have resisted any such move......

The elbow on Sutton when he claimed he thought it was Wise is a classic example of his thugish behaviour that we all loved him for! Know Roy personally do you? And incidently the Haaland thing was brought about by him mocking Keane when he was seriously injured!
mowmacrefox Posted 2 November 2011 Author Posted 2 November 2011 It would be great to see some passion from the manager, but I doubt you would get that from Keane. He's a cold hearted piece of shit & shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Sven. As people, they are just miles apart. Sven is a gentleman who most people had some good feelings for, whereas Keane is a bloody animal who most people appear to detest. Couldn't see him getting a personal reference off of Nial Quinn, Mick McCarthy, Sir Alex Ferguson, Premiership Ref's etc etc. Why don't you just face the facts? He is not wanted at City by the majority of fans!
ian the fox Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Any form of Demonstration would be bad news ! Top & the thai moneybags consortium could realise how " Small time we might be " They may pull out & buy Coventry & Derby for a £1 & lead them to glory instead ............ Any new manager if unsuccessful wouldn't reign long as TOP said in his post Sven interview,............. "Pay off " Ian Dowie wouldnt last till boxing day , dont worry about that ! Roy Keane , wouldnt stand for any player power that ruined Svens tenure ..... Lets keep an open mind this time
seenitall Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Who would the demonstration be against - the board? I wouldn't count on that, most fans love them unreservedly and support them blindly - the fact we have been going backwards since they first got their hands on the club is overlooked because they have spent some money, but I am in the minority believing this (for now) I think there will be demonstrations eventually but fear we have a lot further to fall before they come to the fore - 2 managers fired by this lot so far (possibly drove Pearson away too, although that is only my opinion and is therefore wrong) and at least one more to come before the end of the season, or if we scrape the play offs, perhaps early next season. Wait until some of the Sven signings want out in January, like Mills, Bamba, Nugent and Schmeical, especially if he is at a club that can afford them and their wages by then - then you may see some mild complaining on here and perhaps a muttering at the games
topharry123 Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Having had an insight into what Keane did at ipswich, scrapping youth systems, buying big and paying even bigger, my season ticket which I have held for 20 odd years now would have to go back. I feel that strongly against having him ruin my club. A common phrase in football is "no player/coach is bigger than the club". If you give up your season ticket based on him becoming manager, you are making him bigger than the club to you. As pissed off as I would be, I'm not not going to let who is manager ruin my love for the club. He's either going to do badly and get fired, or do great and not earn my respect as a person, but make me content that we got someone in who has done a decent job which would make me a happy supporter.
ian the fox Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Two very poor manager sacked already .............. Sven & Sousa wouldnt have got any where near the Premier League , make no bones about that ........ The last 10 years following Leicester have been so shit its unbelievable ............. Most of us have had enough .............bring on King Power...........
James. Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 And incidently the Haaland thing was brought about by him mocking Keane when he was seriously injured! Yeah and how did Keane get injured - as a result of fouling Haaland! Apparently Haaland said "stop faking it". So you think it's fair and sane that Keane hears that, waits 4 fucking years and then puts in a tackle that he himself later admits was intended to cripple? Sure there are worse and the comparisons to child rapists and Mugabe are incredibly rertarded (I assumed they were jokes at first, apparently not) but this is not a man I want anywhere near the football club. I'd live with it sure, there are lots more important things in life than who manages LCFC, but I wouldn't like it at all. He's a twat.

Given our experience of the past decade (and indeed, the years before MON) that wouldn't necessarily be a disqualification for the post under discussion..
seenitall Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 How deluded do you have to be to think that Sven will ever again be seen in English football? They may want out anyway if Keane comes in- I am deluded however
m00nie Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Wait until some of the Sven signings want out in January, like Mills, Bamba, Nugent and Schmeical, especially if he is at a club that can afford them and their wages by then - then you may see some mild complaining on here and perhaps a muttering at the games do you really believe they only came here because of sven.. Schmeical is the number 1 goalie, playing well (apart from odd mistake like last night).. nugent, hitting form, scoring goals, first striker on the team sheet. mills, captain, imagine good wages. bamba, fans love him, playing well, regular starter.. why would any of those want to leave?? by January we should be in a good promotion push place also..

Now who's deluded - do you actually think any of these would have come if he hadn't been here?
m00nie Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Now who's deluded - do you actually think any of these would have come if he hadn't been here? your still the deluded one... how much did we pay for mills, do you think tom dick or harry couldnt have paid that and got him.. none of them was playing regular for man united or anything.. were a decent club, can pay decent wages, with a decent following, with new rich owners, who have ambiotions,
accessory Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Now who's deluded - do you actually think any of these would have come if he hadn't been here? Depends if we'd had a proper manager who actually understood the league, instead of one who was merely rampant with a cheque book.
seenitall Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Depends if we'd had a proper manager who actually understood the league, instead of one who was merely rampant with a cheque book. Like Roy Keane? Or Billy No mates?
marbelladave Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Walshie was probably the filthiest player we have ever had! The elbow on Sutton when he claimed he thought it was Wise is a classic example of his thugish behaviour that we all loved him for! Know Roy personally do you? And incidently the Haaland thing was brought about by him mocking Keane when he was seriously injured! I will freely admit that I rarely saw Walsh play and his behaviour off the field was known to be pretty crap from time to time, but I still maintain that Keane is on a different level. I have met a fair few players (and ex players) over the years due to my involvement in various anti-racist movements from the Anti-Nazi League to the more recent Kick It Out campaign and no, I have never met Mr Keane. Most of the players are on their best behaviour and pretty anodyne to be honest but I did manage to introduce Steve MacClaran to a few (musical) people at one event which resulted in a nice chat over a sparkly water. As i said in another thread I thought he was a really decent bloke. Keane did his knee in a 'nothing' tackle and Haaland, thinking he was faking it gave him some abuse, not nice but happens in virtually every game. Keane's cold blooded visciousness some two years after the event says it all for me.
lestajigs Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Wtf going on here, has he been appointed as our new manager then????
