Vlad the Fox Posted 19 November 2011 Posted 19 November 2011 For Everything A Reason Fantastic Expectations Amazing Revelations
easilee Posted 19 November 2011 Posted 19 November 2011 All the Leicester City players have been left in no doubt that new manager Nigel Pearson means business, says midfielder Neil Danns. Pearson had his entire squad available for training yesterday for the first time, and he made it clear in a speech what he expects from his players. Danns was impressed with what he has seen and heard. "Straight away you can see as soon as he has arrived he has an aura surrounding him," said Danns. "You can see he means business. "The tempo in training this week has been increased by at least 10 per cent, that just shows you the effect he is having on the boys straight away. "He has a stature but he also comes across well to the boys. He is honest and he knows his stuff because he has been there and done it. All of that added together gives him the aura. "As soon as his name was mentioned, everyone at the club, not just the players, spoke so highly of him and that is testament to him. "We haven't had long enough yet to work with him, but I am sure I will be saying the same thing in a few weeks." Danns has been in and out of the City side since his arrival from Crystal Palace, who he left in the summer. The arrival of Pearson means a fresh start for everyone but Danns knows the entire squad will need to be utilised. "It is definitely a fresh start for us, but it is going to be the same as before, no matter what," he said. "When you have a big squad, you are never going to be a set 11. We have a massive squad and there is a reason for that, so some are going to be in the team and some are not. "But we are privileged to be at a club like this. It is part and parcel of the game. "We are taking on board the gaffer's ideas and, hopefully, put them into practice on Sunday. "It is a change of man, a change of ideas. We will get on board with those ideas and, hopefully, it will take us to where we want to be." Palace have surprised many with their superb start to the season but Danns said he knew Dougie Freedman's team would be competitive this season. "I haven't been surprised by the start they have made because I know the wealth of talent they have there with the young lads," he said. "Dougie will go on to be a top manager. They have a good chance. They were one of the favourites to go down but, when I left, I knew they would be okay, under the guidance of Dougie Freedman and with the young players. "Dougie is fresh from playing and he knows exactly how the game is played now. "He knows what he is talking about, is honest and a very strong character. That's not a bad mix." After reading that I have come to the conclusion that Sven was a bit of a hippy. Relatively.

yorksfox Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Hey! Steady on Terrier 123, Huddersfield season ticket holder here - though also a lifelong Leicester fan. I'm relieved Lee Clark is still at Town because he has unfinished business there. It took Nigel Pearson 9 months to get Leicester out of L1 , whereas LC is still trying to accomplish that at the 4th attempt (with Dean Hoyle's considerable financial backing). Nevertheless he is gradually developing into a good young manager and the unbeaten run has been a great achievement. If he keeps up the good work then Town may one day be nearly as big as Leicester!
liamsm Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 pleased you guys have finally got a manager, lets hope he quickly gets over being 3rd o r 4th choice.....Even our manager said no because he wanted a big club best of luck to you lets hope NP doesnt feel too bad about being so far down the pecking order we talk to lots of managers it didnt mean we had any intention of signing them, just finding out what their ambitions where, and we didn't try very hard to get your man so perhaps we decided his ambition/quality was not good enough for such a high level of football at which he has and might never have any success. We probably wont be here to play you next season, but your man might just fall flat on his face Sven did
Jordan Posted 21 November 2011 Posted 21 November 2011 People might be impressed to hear how training's been stepped up but people have referred to our inadequate fitness levels and to me that only reflects the shortcomings which were previously tolerated and should never be compromised within an aspiring club. As for Pearson's "aura" I understand what Danns says - Pearson does have a presence that at least ensures there will be discipline, honesty, an insistence on hard work and the setting of certain standards around the place around the place. But as the man in charge - and at a considerable investment - you'd expect him to have presence. What I'm bothered about is his decision-making and ability to respond well when things go wrong and need changing. Cos they will, however well he prepares. And auras can dilute pretty quickly under pressure...as Kevin Keegan might remember. I was talking to one of my son's about Southampton today and asked him how many scorers they had in their side at any one time. Including a centre-back, midfielders and strikers he said six. We often have only three on the pitch at any one time and that explains why we score at a much slower rate (while actually conceding more goals). This above all things has to change. We have to have more potential goalscorers in the team and no less than six to mount a challenge. Our fans are way off the mark when they talk about Wellens, Abe, Fernandes etc ... people who hardly ever score, any more than do our entire back four. Attending to detail should be a given but nothing will be enough unless we change this aspect of the balance in our side. Three or occasionally four potential goalscorers is never going to be enough. Aura or not. Nigel can call up all of the Academy's forwards and play 2-2-6, I suppose. Either that or play with the deck he's been dealt, which includes a lot of central midfielders. He had seen this new squad for FOUR DAYS before he picked today's lineup. And I think Leicester did pretty damn well even though only two players were on the scoresheet.

Love it when fans of other clubs post shite on here that is either fabricated, lacks substance or lacks relevance. Go back to the Huddersfield forum. Or is it that you only popped up in our forum because your club has nothing to talk about other than the fact you broke the unbeaten league record and STILL ain't gonna get out of League One. Effing Tool.
bluearmyfox23 Posted 25 November 2011 Posted 25 November 2011 Let them talk about how shit there gonna do once rhodes leaves in january !!!

Yes, he did especially well, and the first thing he did was to increase the number of potential scorers to five!
