davieG Posted 1 December 2011 Author Posted 1 December 2011 They're last two games they've lost after being in front so I'm expecting them to play a tighter game.
Oh tommy wright Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Give me strength. I'm going don't even want to think about a draw. 4-0 Nugent hat rick. Does anyone know how many of us going?

MrFox781 Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Hull 1 - Leicester 3 got a tenner on it. Nugent, Beckford and Danns.
city1993 Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 The game has got 0-0 written all over it, on paper. However, Hull will be up for it with NP factor etc etc... Barmby has got quite a spirit going at the KC, but hopefully Nigel can outwit him tactically. Kasper Peltier Bamba Mills Konchesky Gally Wellens King Dyer Nugent Beckford Howard, Danns, and Schlupp as impact substitutions in the second half if we're failing to break them down. Prediction - 0-1 (fingers crossed).

Oh tommy wright Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 I'd Settle for a 0-0 Yes I would settle for 0-0 as well. In fact I'd be happy if we finish mid table this season. Give me strength.
marbelladave Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 They're last two games they've lost after being in front so I'm expecting them to play a tighter game. They're.............. Been at the sherry davie............... Maybe we need to play a tighter game, away against a playoff contender, 4-5-1 anyone......
Captain... Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Football is forever throwing up special situations like these and, while Pearson won there last time and ought to be able to restrict Hull to a goal or less my feeling is that a draw's as good as we'll get. Two factors cancel out - the desire of Hull players to make their point and the desire of Leicester's players not to let the manager down. They'll also want to keep impressing Pearson before the January window opens. If we continue to go with pace and width I'd find it hard to imagine us not scoring so 1-1's what I'm expecting. And, once more I'm fancing Mills with a header. It won't be the back-to-back wins people have been hoping for but it would be a fourth game without defeat and another notch on an potentially impressive unbeaten sequence. Many will expect Fryatt to score against us but, if Bamba marks him, I'll be surprised. I just don't see him as fast enough, strong enough or good enough. Unless it's a penalty. . If those 2 factors cancel each other out then the fact that Pearson has the inside knowledge on Hull and all of their players gives us the advantage. It will be interesting to see if he changes the formation, the only reason to change the team/formation is to counterract a perceived strength or exploit a weakness in a team. He knows all of Hull's strengths and weaknesses, Koren being one of their strengths. It will be interesting to see if he sets out 451 to nullify his threat and win the midfield battle or if he sticks to 442 with the same players. If he doesn't mix things up then I think we can be pretty sure of seeing the same starting 11 for the forseeable future, not a bad thing and shows confidence in the players we have but those not in the team are going to face a battle to get in.
Aylestone Fox Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 I dont think we should fear anyone in the division, respect them yes but we are more than capable of beating any of them...
davieG Posted 1 December 2011 Author Posted 1 December 2011 They're.............. Been at the sherry davie............... Stick to 442 we need to go for it if we want to keep up with the leading pack.
Libertine Dream Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Oooooooops! I actually change my original wording oh well. Stick to 442 we need to go for it if we want to keep up with the leading pack. 4-4-2 is all well and good but had Pompey been half decent we'd have lost as there was often tok much space in midfield which in the second half left us very vulnerable to a counter attack. By all means play 442 but we need to be more compact. Away from home Id quite like to see the formation used in the last 15 mins at Pompey as we looked a lot more compact but yet atill good going forward, that would be: Kasper Pelts Mills Bamba Konchesky Wellens King Nugent Danns Dyer Beckford. But im also happy with 4-4-2 against the poorer attacking sides.
Fox in the North Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Properly excited for this, I haven't had a chance to go and watch any game since I've been studying up in Hull 1-2 Leicester Beckford and Nugent

I think that's the team that will start , that's what I feel nugents best position is , with danns busy in midfield ( like a savage of old!!) Not the game for Gallagher sat... Means becks has too work and have a touch , looks so much better when he has a touch first , then passes or turns and runs at them. Can't wait , am going hopefully to get a result . Be nice too get that two in a row!!! Come on you city slickers...
norwegianfox Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 The game is televised on Viasat Football, which I have access to. Looking forward to an inspired display from the boys tomorrow. I predict a 2-0 win with Beckford grabbing both.

But im also happy with 4-4-2 against the poorer attacking sides. Sort of what I was hinting at earlier. Beckford leading the line on his own is unlikely to be effective, that formation requires a front man who can play with his back to goal and hold up the play, not really Beckford's game at all. Starting with Howard, who is really the only player we have who can play that role, is not really that effective either, so much as I want us to move to an attacking 4-5-1 I don't think we have the players to do it at this time. So the predictable set up is pretty much 'same again', 4-4-2 with City trying to get in front then making the change to 4-5-1. Maybe NFP has a surprise up his sleeve for us, and hopefully, Hull as well......
shilton_fox Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 i'd stick with the same team as performing well at the minute! Hoping for a good atmosphere because of Pearson's return and they 3 points to make it even sweeter!

We are a better team than Hull... Pearson knows their strengths and weaknesses. I'd like us to go there and put out an attacking side to break quickly on the counter attack. Let's hit em with some pace and desire and turn em over. 2-0 Leicester
crazylegs1984 Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 i honestly feel a drubbing coming on an if hull come out all guns blazing we will proper turn em over ..... i personally think it will be over by half time final score 4-1 leicester nugent with 2 beckford and schlupp and matty fryup will score for them with a fluke

seenitall Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 Banana skin this one - we should beat em but there will be plenty of boos and a real sense of 'justice to be' done for Hull so I have a horrible feeling about it - 2-0 Hull

Changed my mind from 4-0. I reckon 12-0 city's greatest day in history and Matt Mills finds a blue shirt with a pass.
Brooksy Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 Got a tremendous feeling about this one. 8-0 Leicester
Fox92 Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 Just visited the Hull forum, it seems like they really want to be us Nigel Pearson. Got to say I am excited (as always, going to an away game), but also anxious because there is no doubt Hull will come out and fight because of the fixture and everything involved. I rekon we will win this 0-1. We will get totally battered, Hull will miss chances, and we will score and nick 3 points. I just want those 3 points!! Got a tremendous feeling about this one. 8-0 Leicester
