Rincewind Posted 9 December 2011 Posted 9 December 2011 Does anyone know of any pubs opening xmas day for dinners? Failing that has anyone got a spare chair for a lonely old man who wont be any trouble just sitting in the corner fast asleep with a party hat on.

Yeh you can come to mine, we only get that in the late afternoon when my Grandad's knackered from firing innapropriate sexual innuendos at us through dinner. You can replace him.

Rincewind Posted 10 December 2011 Author Posted 10 December 2011 Ok. My main reason for posting was to inquire whether anyone knew of any pubs/restaurants etc that was doing xmas dinner. The rest was a bit of fun. Well semi-serious fun. I'm happy to spend xmas on my own. When I did security I worked on xmas day and took a few bits in even sneaking a bottle or two of beer in. I'll have some beer some food and FT to keep me company what more can one ask for?

I gather The Holiday Inn are serving Christmas Day lunch. Then there's the Mill on the Soar at Broughton Astley, the Bell Fountain at Wigston, the Castle Hotel in Kirby Muxloe and the Red Cow at Leicester Forest East. Doubtless there will be other options.
Rincewind Posted 11 December 2011 Author Posted 11 December 2011 Thanks. TBH though doubt if I can afford to eat out anyway. Holiday Inn easiest to get to but prob most expensive. I did Google it but most likely putting in the wrong words. I honestly don't mind being on my own. I can do what I want. Not much of a xmas person anyway. No Xmas songs, eat and drink what I want and my choice of TV.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 I wish I lived in Leicester, for you would be more than welcome, Ken. Two oldish chaps together, along with dinner and a few beers. Great.

Rincewind Posted 22 December 2011 Author Posted 22 December 2011 Sorted. my brother texted me today asking if I wanted to have xmas dinner at his place. It will only be a few hours because someone picking and dropping me off and drinking/driving laws. If its left late the driver wont be able to drink or I will be there longer than intended.

Rincewind Posted 22 December 2011 Author Posted 22 December 2011 Yes that would be nice. too. But knowing my luck I'd just end up with the parsons nose.

Webbo Posted 22 December 2011 Posted 22 December 2011 Overated day anyway Xmas in the sunshine doesn't seem natural. I don't think I'd like it.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 22 December 2011 Posted 22 December 2011 Xmas in the sunshine doesn't seem natural. I don't think I'd like it. It's not bad just normally go for a swim in the pool and drink beer. Then eat a lot of food at Dads Side then mums side. Drink more then pass out then repeat the next day watching the boxing day test cricket eating all the left overs. I've spent one in Leicester and it was too cold for my liking. Froze my balls off whilst enjoying my first real hangover.....turns out cold and flu tablets and an all day bender when your 17 isn't good for the old body.

The only time I've done Christmas in the south I had to climb Mount Kosciuszko to find some cold and snow. Then we had a BBQ. It was wrong. You need to MAN UP
