Dan Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 Honeymoon period eh? NP's honeymoon period doesn't seem to be going so well does it? Thick? LMAO, oh yeah he's that thick that his tactics have just won three on the bounce, when was the last time Lester did that, how many manager's ago? January 1st - Feb 18th, Sven-Goran Eriksson, if it wasn't for a last minute goal away at Preston, we'd have won 8 on the bounce. Good day to you.
seenitall Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 Hear hear - the naysayers have their wish (just like when they wanted Weale back in goal)
ithuriel Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 The reason Pearson left your shit excuse of a club is because he felt with the finances at his disposal here he could get the players he wants and the ambition of our club is greater than yours sorry to put it so bluntly. Fully agree with this and Barmby currently is just working with Pearsons squad, much like Peter Taylor with us worked with O'niells squad and thing's went smoothly for a few months. Pearson has had a handful of game's since he came back and is going to have to spend money in Jan because the squad assembled by Sven simply is not good enough, now we are seeing just how good some of these player's are.
Fox1651 Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 We cant really judge properly until Jan/Feb time but i expect much improvement in those next 2 to 3 months

Not really true. We've seen this squad of players absolutely demolish teams under Sven. The players have been inconsistent, capable of a great performance but too often don't turn up. That was the case under Sven, that was the case under Pearson. All this resorting to blaming the managers is getting old. When a team absolutely annihalates someone on saturday, and then the same team is completely shit the following week - the manager isn't to blame imo. Of course that's far too reasonable for the Sven out brigade to see, I just find it funny how some people will crucify Sven for one thing but defend Pearson to the hilt for another. Ah well, can't say I care - feel like we're getting our comeuppance for being too trigger happy with our managers. Once Sven left this season was never gonna be anything more than rebuilding, regardless of who came in. New manager deserves time, Sven didn't really get it imo. I hope for the club's sake we give Pearson a little longer than he had. In short, stability and patience.

I supported Sven for a long period of time but he brought his own downfall, he built this squad with cash a number of other team's in this division would have liked to have and moulded them over a full summer and yet they we're very inconsistent with some absolutely rank performances. Sven had thirteen month's in total and knew exactly what the job entailed and was given a two year contract on the basis of getting us up. Pearson has been given a longer contract and i got the impression from some of the interviews Top has given Nigel will be given the time to show what he can do.

Makes no sense, give time to the guy already at the helm, dont sack him and bring someone new in to give thme more time. Also the squad ws completely rebuilt over summer, of course it needed more time. Regardless, the rest of my post still stands
Fox1651 Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 No disrespect to Peterborough but if we cant beat them (and again many on here were predicting a Beckford hat-trick ) then we have no chance of making even the play-offs this season
MattyFromLE Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 No disrespect to Peterborough but if we cant beat them (and again many on here were predicting a Beckford hat-trick ) then we have no chance of making even the play-offs this season Shut up. This league is unpredictable. For example Bristol and Doncaster beating Southampton. Yesterday wasnt a total disaster, who says we have the right to win every match just because we're Leicester City? We have to earn it. Which we didn't.
Bugg Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 Wellens was crap against Hull so what does Pearson do? MAKES HIM CAPTAIN. He's a bag of crap and I've had enough of him, I'm probably going to get ridiculed for this but when I saw Moussa in central midfield for Southend he was the exact kind of midfielder we need, driving at the defense and making things happen, He'd be better than Wellens anyway but never seems to get a look in the squad, even though he's double up as a better winger than what Danns does. I'm just fed up of the constant crap being spouted that he's the only player that can "make things happen" he makes an influential pass about once every 10 games and gets thoroughly rimmed for weeks on end for his "outstanding vision". He isn't the answer, he's indecisive, he blames other players for his mistakes and more importantly isn't actually that good at passing. It's no surprise he's spent most of his career in the Lower Leagues and quite frankly is only going to get worse than what he is now.

Many were predicting a Beckford Hat Trick... Shows how wildly optimistic some people are and how at risk of massively inflating some players people can be.
marbelladave Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 Oh dear, disappointing or what......... Just skimmed through the thread and it appears that some are beginning to wake up to the realities that I have been telling you for months, years in some cases. The lack of organisation in central defence, the total ineffective pairing of King and Wellens in the center of the park, the appalling 'fit' of Nugent and Beckford as a front two, the deployment of Gallagher in wide positions when he is clearly at his best in central areas are just the most obvious...... It is fairly clear that NFP has no intention of addressing any of these issues prior to the January window, this suggests to me that we are in for big changes and the disruption that will cause will stretch NFP's skills to the limit. Bring in the right players, get them to gel quickly, (as Sven managed last season,) and keep them going to the end is a huge challenge, get it wrong and any chance of a playoff place will be gone. Good luck Nigel.......
look_back_in_amber Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 He's lost 1 in 5. How many have you WON out of those five games? He's taken us over in a worse position than Barmby's taken over you. Barmby has got us into the play off positions and then consolidated that position with further wins, when is that likely to happen with NP in charge? Like I said, it's a honeymoon period, when you hit a snag that will be that. We are more likely to improve after January. Is that forlorn hope based around a manager who has never before been in position to have big money to spend? A bit like Peter Taylor perhaps, and I'm sure I don't need to remind you what happened there, or do you actually really have a crystal ball, 'cos if so could I have Saturday Lotto numbers? It's quite enlightening to see so many switching their hopefulness/expectations to Jan/Feb, how long before they switch again to next season?
ithuriel Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 That makes little sense for a wind up since many teams will be constantly living in hope and expectation of better things.
look_back_in_amber Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 Not a wind up at all mate, it's purely based on my observations of what is happening and being said on this board. Some of you seemed to think that buying Pearson's loyalty once more was a golden ticket for promotion, it appears that some are quickly realising that all that glitters is not necessarily gold, except Nige's pay packet of course
ithuriel Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 After just 5 games and one defeat from a team that was inconsistent anyway it is a wind up
Kitchandro Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 It's quite enlightening to see so many switching their hopefulness/expectations to Jan/Feb, how long before they switch again to next season? Whatever, give it time, we've all been in form over a short period you know. Not many of us spend that time on another teams forum though, what a sad life you have!

You're riding on Pearson's wave and we're trying to pick up from Sven's pile of crap, you dumbass.

This guy may be within your budget http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ade_Akinbiyi
marko Posted 11 December 2011 Posted 11 December 2011 Hi, i'm a massive c**k. If you're still ahead of us in May then fair enough, but it's a bit early to start gloating!!!

Have you been banned from your own forum or bored everyone on there so much that they don't reply? I don't mind hearing views from other fans when they are in good spirit but you're just an arsehole...
