gazzer Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 Don't bother looking anything up, just don't post again, for the benefit of everyone. Yeah I'll do what you say when you're quite clearly challenged.
Happy Fox Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 Yeah I'll do what you say when you're quite clearly challenged. No need to start a slagging contest, we are all disappointed that this season hasn't been going to plan but in time we will be up their challenging keep the faith NP will sort the problems out that I have no doubt UTF
Corky Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 Well at least we didn't lose I suppose... We're now five points behind the top six. I'm not sure whether your comment is serious or not but still, I bet there are people out there with that mentality. I can accept it for some games but not today's, next week's or the two home games between Christmas and New Year. We had a great chance today to keep up with the pack and failed. Too many more and the season will drift.

Guest Col city fan Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 Steady - you 2 normally agree on everything - midfield was poor, strikers got rubbish service and the goal was conceded because we didn't have our best defender in the team - bringing on Howard is no longer a useful thing to do as he is past it and most championship teams can defend against a big clumsy old fella - we looked closest to scoring when Beckford used his pace, a few more quality balls and we might see what Nugent and `Beck ford are capable of - if not let's revert to hoof ball and buy a couple of big clumsy lads for up front - gonna have to do that if we continue to play King (who has faded) and Wellens who has never really performed above League 1 level - Lloyd and Gally are third tier players - defence (with Mills) can cut it now and strikers are proven above average - midfield is woeful - Col, be quiet I didn't expect anything else.. Utter bollox Wellens hasn't performed above League one? And please get your cock out of Beckfords arse.. Do you really think he's bothered that you want to marry him and have his babies?

Kitchandro Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 Your opinion, but neither Gally nor Wellens look good enough at this level now - Bamba is good but too elaborate and the best mix is him and Mills - it has worked and we are unlucky that we didn't have it today - St Ledger was all over the place for the goal and Bamba put Mills in trouble last week. Wellens is heart and soul but really not good enough when the game speeds up - sorry you think its bullshit but Gally's poor corner taking and crap tackling and Wellens general giving the ball away are letting us down - if those two are still with us in a year or so and Mills, Beckford et al have moved on then I will be wrong, but I bet I'm not............ Hardly. Lets not forget who scored today when in general we couldn't hit a barn door, in fact we mostly didn't try shooting. His crossing and corners today were mostly spot on, there was a lack of both luck and striking prowess to finish them off. His general play was decent if unspectacular. He's not on the pitch to tackle and I don't see how his lack of tackling cost us anyway. Mills is poor on the ball and some of his clearances have been laughable. He's also cost us with 2 stupid challenges that saw him red carded. I don't mind players being criticised when they're playing badly (I've been a strong supporter of Wellens amid a lot of stick but I cannot defend his awful display today or some of the others this season) but I don't like this scapegoating of players just because you don't like them. Bamba isn't perfect but he rarely costs us goals or whole matches like Mills has.
Corky Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 I like the fact they are arguing about whether Coventry are worse than them. It could be worse for us.
Babylon Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 look up 'tragic'before you post again Just looked it up, it had your date of birth there?
PWA1934 Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 I think you lot are being a little bit harsh on your team, mind you considering we've only spent 500k compared to your millions it doesnt look great. But you were on top for the first half and could of been 2-0 up, and I half expected it with our defence. But thats football, and when we go a goal down or 2 we start playing then so us Posh fans knew we would get back into it really. But I think its only a matter of time, before Pearson gets you on a good run really, we were in a bad run of form, so we were bound to stop it eventually and this was the game. Looking forward to playing you at London Road later on this year, hopefully you'll still have the terraces, best of luck.
Kitchandro Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 I like the fact they are arguing about whether Coventry are worse than them. It could be worse for us. I think the teams around them all have genuine hope of staying up as well. Apart from Coventry and Doncaster, you couldn't really say they will surely finish above....
Bausor Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 so we are 5 point off the playoff but only 10 points off automatics - strange old league ahh well auto is still poss half the season to catch up on 10 points and the said top 2 too take 3 points off west ham and southhapton are now faultering its anyone league imo

Happy Fox Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 Winning two in a row would be a start. Haven't we said that before dejavue.
Corky Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 We have. February 18th was the last time we followed up a victory with another victory. That's why we're ninth and not in the top six where we need to be.
Thracian Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 How this team needs a sniffer, a six-yard area striker who instinctively knows whats coming in and when. This type of striker would have gotten on the end of the balls coming in today. When Lloyd cuts back in, I reckon its cos he knows he's got to. I was going to make exactly the same point. Someone with the movement and elusiveness of the old Tony Cottee Someone who is always there to get the final touch. A Gerd Muller or Jimmy Greaves type. Our players talk a lot about hating to lose but they don't really live that hate, not even on the pitch. There's no real ruthlessness in our side. No-one with real desire to get on the end of anything and everything. It shows most obviously in the air, We've players with the height and strength to score goals - but no-one with the cold-blooded single-mindedness to do so. Beckford ignoring another team-mate was a typical example today and one he'd repeated in his previous game. I couldn't believe there was no reaction. Cos I'd have given him a mouthful he'd never have forgotten.
harpendenfox Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 Bizarrely, most of the team was on the 6.30 to St Pancras. There we were enjoying a nice cup of tea on the station platform when the boy says there's Kaspar. Don't be so silly I said, until I saw Wellens, then about 10 of them sauntered in. Tunch, was with them, looking east European, Waggy looked glum. Mills was in charge, dishing out the train tickets like the head teacher. In walks a rather effeminate looking chap, who we thought looked somewhat out of place. it was SSL, in white pumps, a spangly belt, a low slung jeans showing a worrying amount of pants. Seems like a nice boy young Sean. I presume they were off to some gig in London. The only ones missing were Sol, Bamba, the Konch and Schluppage. Probably past his bed time. They were way too chirpy for my liking. I was still in my post match slump. Still, I guess they're allowed to live a little. Dyer joined the queue behind my son. Tactfully, the boy gave him a man of the match award, to which Dyer responded with a smile. Boy now believes Dyer is a good man. Kingy was wearing a shocking grey tracksuit hoody thing. Think the lad needs a girlfriend to sort him out. Danns looked rather stylish I thought. Peltier looks abot 14. Big Steve was yawning rather a lot after his big shift today. Nugent smiles a lot. Beckford wasn't there either now I think about it. Tunch looks sorrowful in that East European way. Think he needs a hug. Mills seemed rather charming, but his cheeky scarf looked a little camp. SSL needs to pull his trousers up. Never a good look to show too much of your pants.

Simply look up, pass the ball to Danns and it's two one City

Father Ted Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 Im still laughing at the Peterborough fans celebrating as if they won the world cup! wankers
seenitall Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 I can't help it.. You spout such shite it brings out the worst in me... Great, a little smiley face - don't like Sven, don't like Beckford, love Wellens and Nige - time to face it, 2009 is over and this club needs to move on - try watching the games and read the posts properly - I never said Wellens has never cut it, just that he is out of his depth now - snap out of it man and realise that with the old guard of the Gally's and Wellens, Howard, and even King and Dyer, we are just not good enough. Support Hull if you love Fryatt but we have five or six class players and none of that lot fit the bill.

He may well be past it and out of his depth now, but before this season I'd disagree entirely.
