Kitchandro Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 i was there. we were awful. just awful We weren't though
Guest Col city fan Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 Agree with this tbf, The strikers (especially Nugent even though I love him) were poor in the first half, there were some very dangerous crosses from Dyer and Gallagher. I don't know why people are saying the corners were poor, there was only one poor one in about 8. TBF, I think in the first half we were just a bit unlucky. On another day we could have been 3-0 up. Gallys corners were superb today... right on the button. We made nothing of any of them
Babylon Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 why can't you do it yourself I would but I'm on my phone.
Babylon Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 i was there. we were awful. just awful Over reaction much? You sound like the Bloke in front who kept telling everyone how many goals stringer said we should be leading by. He reckoned 10 by half time... I wish average balls equalled goals.
gazzer Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 I would but I'm on my phone. fair enough. I'll consider myself facepalmed due to your massive intellect.

nuttytimmy Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 Hardly the worst performance but we should definitely have won the game. In the first half we were the superior side and could, indeed, have gone in 3-up at the break. The last twenty minutes was a complete contrast and Peterborough could arguably have snatched it. Anyway, my conclusions are in the usual place.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 We haven't got a CM that can dribble past his man, Bamba does it more than Wellens or King do. And ffs, we get into decent positions and keep passing, pass, pass, pass, lose the ball. Someone ****ing shoot!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 Shit. Should have been crusing at HT to a shocking Posh team who just couldnt defend. We took it easy when we scored and let them back into it with a poorly defended goal, and from then on at the back we looked suicidal. Shit result, and made Posh look good at the end.
Thracian Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 For 25 minutes we played with a bit off style and urgency, creating plenty of half-chances from which we might well have scored. Thereafter our tempo dropped alarmingly a fact not helped by the lack of urgency in the way we took corners, free-kicks and our responce to throw-ins when, far too often, there was no movement at all. If I had to give one reason for our lack of impact this season it is because we don't put the opposition under enough sustained pressure to force mistakes. Under Pearson we don't press up but only start to defend from 10 yards behind the halfway line. At first today we had the energy to break quite threateningly from deep - but not for long. Peterborough looked fitter, stronger and more determined than us as the game wore on - and in the end their superior fitness allowed them to pass the ball just as well as we ever did, and better in many phases. Apart from Konchesky and Dyer on the left for some of the time we didn't look a team. And, as frustration with our lack of goals set in, there were far too many people ignoring the simple ball and trying to dribble in daft places. Bamba, Wellens, Beckford and Nugent were the worst culprits and it only caused trouble. But another big sin today was our attitude once we scored. Pearson's talked about us needing to be more expansive and he's selected teams to justify that. But as soon as we got ahead our urgency and sense of purpose disappeared. We went straight into containment mode and allowed Peterborough to sense the chance of recovery. Well, I'll spell this out loud and clear. We'll never win anything with that attitude. The only sensible way to respond to a goal is to maintain the pressure and try and score another. One day our esteemed manager will perhaps understand that but he shows no signs of doing so yet. Peterborough were given far too much time and space to attack and far too little to think about at the other end once we'd scored and their goal was no more than they deserved. We've all talked about the sort of incomers we need but above all we need far more urgency. We can't have two pedestrian central midfielders and one pedestrian winger. Nor can we have people dribbling in no-man's land because that too has the effect of slowing our play down. I'm not a big believer in laying off to defend but, even if we do, we have to attack with tempo when we regain possession and that tempo cannot be sustained if we become strollers when we take corners and free-kicks.
Oh tommy wright Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 sitting in the kop, Tommy Wright (one of my fave old players as it happens)...first half there was tons of stuff coming in... first 20 mins wave after wave of attack...leading to about what? 6/7 corners. I can't recollect our strikers getting anywhere near anything. With the exception of Beckford hitting the post and missing a sitter of a header. Ok may be you are right about the crosses. But we are losing games because of the piss poor midfield. Yes you can say such an such didn't have a good game today. But it's a lot more than individual players strikers will always have off days and yes Beckford has more of them than Nugent. Until there is a drastic change in the players or performance in the middle of the park we will be consistently inconsistent..
gazzer Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 king and wellens were both awful and should be dropped. Hope the wankfest about Pearson is now over and everyone knows he is an average championship manager who gets the best out of average players like Jack Hobbs.

Guest DavidJCW Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 Well at least we didn't lose I suppose...
gazzer Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 this club will go nowhere with Pearson and it's pricks like you who gave the owners the idea to recruit the dour twat. They thought it'd be a popular assignment but...
Jace Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 this manager is worse than the last one and the Club has wasted a lot of money getting him Somebody actually gave this +1!???

seenitall Posted 10 December 2011 Posted 10 December 2011 I think you are some what overplaying the quality of the balls in to the box. Steady - you 2 normally agree on everything - midfield was poor, strikers got rubbish service and the goal was conceded because we didn't have our best defender in the team - bringing on Howard is no longer a useful thing to do as he is past it and most championship teams can defend against a big clumsy old fella - we looked closest to scoring when Beckford used his pace, a few more quality balls and we might see what Nugent and `Beck ford are capable of - if not let's revert to hoof ball and buy a couple of big clumsy lads for up front - gonna have to do that if we continue to play King (who has faded) and Wellens who has never really performed above League 1 level - Lloyd and Gally are third tier players - defence (with Mills) can cut it now and strikers are proven above average - midfield is woeful - Col, be quiet

Gally and Wellens have performed above League One level quite a bit since they've been here, in fact they are 2 of the few players to actually finish in the top 6 with this team. I've just about had enough with these overstatements about players. I'm not defending Wellens' performance today or the majority of them this season but what you've written is bullshit. Mills is certainly not the best defender we have by any stretch of the imagination. Bamba is. Mills is the most expensive and the biggest let down.

Your opinion, but neither Gally nor Wellens look good enough at this level now - Bamba is good but too elaborate and the best mix is him and Mills - it has worked and we are unlucky that we didn't have it today - St Ledger was all over the place for the goal and Bamba put Mills in trouble last week. Wellens is heart and soul but really not good enough when the game speeds up - sorry you think its bullshit but Gally's poor corner taking and crap tackling and Wellens general giving the ball away are letting us down - if those two are still with us in a year or so and Mills, Beckford et al have moved on then I will be wrong, but I bet I'm not............
