MikeyT Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 Team is: Schmeichel Peltier Bamba Mills Konchesky Gallagher Wellens Abe Dyer Beckford Nugent Subs: Weale, King, Schlupp, Howard, Danns
Callabinho Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 Not happy at all, on a bad day Abe is just as absent as King.
MONreborn Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 Why no fernandes? Pearsons team selections are worse than svens!
Fox 4 Life Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 Our midfield is awful, no threat there at all. Glad beckford is starting but where is the service going to come from?! Why don't we just start Danns in his natural position of CM!
sphericalfox Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 Subs look pretty attacking to me. However I think we may have seen the last of Fernandes. Good to see Abe back though.
MikeyT Posted 26 December 2011 Author Posted 26 December 2011 Rather Fernandes on the bench than Danns or better still, rather Fernandes starting instead of Wellens.
MikeyT Posted 26 December 2011 Author Posted 26 December 2011 For those interested. The Ipswich side. Ipswich Town: Lee-Barratt, Cresswell, Delaney, Edwards, Bowyer, Chopra, Martin, Scotland, Andrews ©, Murphy, Sonko. Subs: Wright, Emmanuel-Thomas, Ellington, Bullard, Wabara
sphericalfox Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 Rather Fernandes on the bench than Danns or better still, rather Fernandes starting instead of Wellens. He obviously feels a need to have a 'commander' in the midfield. However, I do hope that Wellens has found his act this week, and is willing to prove fans wrong. Better see 100% out there.
AdamN Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 This may be the first time I've seriously questioned NP. I can understand the lack of options on the wings, but considering how many centre mids we have at the club, I can't see how he can justify ousting Fernandes and Johnson when our apparently first choice CMs are currently performing so poorly. I haven't seen much of Johnson myself, but from what I've seen of Fernandes, he genuinely looks like one of the most talented players at the club. How can he not be given a chance to shine when everyone else in his position is playing so shit?
dpjfox Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 no defender on bench is dodgy with Mills record
Fox 4 Life Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 For those interested. The Ipswich side. Ipswich Town: Lee-Barratt, Cresswell, Delaney, Edwards, Bowyer, Chopra, Martin, Scotland, Andrews ©, Murphy, Sonko. Subs: Wright, Emmanuel-Thomas, Ellington, Bullard, Wabara Need to stop andrews, he is a scoring machine.
sphericalfox Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 no defender on bench is dodgy with Mills record Abe might be asked to go to RB with Peltier at CB if needed, should the worse happen.
MikeyT Posted 26 December 2011 Author Posted 26 December 2011 Abe might be asked to go to RB with Peltier at CB if needed, should the worse happen. It's us. It probably will.
Cropwellfox Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 My god thats worse than I'd hoped for... At least Fernandes would have put a shift in... That midfield - **** me. In NP I trust - but what the hell he doing???
ozleicester Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 Glad Abe is in, Dyer must have pics of NP? Good to see Schlupp on the bench No Tunch
MikeyT Posted 26 December 2011 Author Posted 26 December 2011 Glad Abe is in, Dyer must have pics of NP? Good to see Schlupp on the bench No Tunch Haven't we all?
Fox 4 Life Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 Glad Abe is in, Dyer must have pics of NP? Good to see Schlupp on the bench No Tunch Dyer isn't great but he is the only width we have so think he has to start really. 2 wingers are an absolutet must in January
MikeyT Posted 26 December 2011 Author Posted 26 December 2011 shouldve known YOU would Moi? What did I do!
Kitchandro Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 Fernandes and Johnson are obviously off. There's no other reason for Wellens and Abe to be in instead. Not happy about Mills being in either. Glad Beckford's in, I hope he proves a point. Can't wait for January, though I'm dreading it also.
whoareyaaa Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 No cover at the back. Howard will be favoured over Schlup. Midfield is so weak and it will show by the end of the day. need two wingers and a attacking mid with some class. 0-0 or 0-1 Optimism - 0
BlueSi13 Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 Nothing but love for Pearson but to start with Wellens, Dyer and Gallagher for this match is totally unacceptable. What sort of message does it send out to the squad, that no matter how shit you play you'll start week in week out over lets face it, technically superior footballers. I've heard for a long time that Wellens and Gallagher have total control over the dressing room but this confirms it for me.
shade Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 so many errors from Pearson there. Gallagher and Wellens STILL playing, dyer starting, weale and Howard on the bench? no fernandes? mental. it looks to me like he didn't want to make changes at all, and only has done because even he knew he couldnt risk another defeat with the old guard playing. more negative decision making.
sphericalfox Posted 26 December 2011 Posted 26 December 2011 A media conference took place after the Ipswich match which took place on Boxing Day. This was the response to Wellens inclusion in the playing squad.
