FoxyPV Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 Talks rubbish, is frequently miles off the mark and is so massively biased towards England it hurts. Him and Guscott are literally the worst on the Beeb. Well, except Andy Nicholl... It hurts because you are laughing so much. This is something that endears me to him becuase as soon as anything goes wrong for England he lays into them straight away. Guscott is a tool. Mr Potato head is my favourite though
Finnegan Posted 26 February 2012 Author Posted 26 February 2012 It hurts because you are laughing so much. This is something that endears me to him becuase as soon as anything goes wrong for England he lays into them straight away. Guscott is a tool. Mr Potato head is my favourite though I do find him quite entertaining at times, yes, and I do love his "OH COME ON ENGLAND!" stress-outs but as an actual pundit he's terrible, the amount of times (even when they're both neutrals) Eddie Butler has to reign him in or just quietly, politely correct him is ridiculous. And yes, well, Wood would be your favourite - incidentally Jiffy is mine! Though I think, to be fair, Jiffy is a pretty tidy analyst, he's a smart guy and he always takes a very conservative approach to his views on Wales, is always quite calm and low-key. I tell you who's really surprised me lately and that's big Loz. Is capable of being impartial about England and I like that he's got a soft spot for the Italians. Hated the twat as a player but he's alright in the studio. Can we all agree that Dawson needs to die, though?
The Doctor Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 Right, I've only just woken up. Am I seeing this right? Are we actually winning a game?
The Doctor Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 Brilliant move there, playing very well today.
Finnegan Posted 27 February 2012 Author Posted 27 February 2012 Just out of interest, what would be anyone's Lions 15 at this halfway stage of the championship? Obviously a long way to go yet but it's food for thought. Obviously laden with inevitable bias but I think my starting side would look something like, on current form: Halfpenny (/ Kearney, tough call), Bowe, Davies, Roberts, North; Sexton (Priestland if he gets his act together), Phillips. Heaslip, Warburton, Ferris, O'Connell, O'Callaghan, Jones, Ford, Jenkins. I'll probably be accused of being provocative but I genuinely can't think of an Englishman I'd have starting. Even Ford felt like tokenism but then he hasn't misplaced a throw so far and he's got a surprising turn of pace.

Criggers Posted 27 February 2012 Posted 27 February 2012 Bit late to this thread but here it goes. It was a try by Strettle, but it's probably irrelevant because Flood would more than likely have missed from out wide and as a Tigers fan I'd rather not have him any more broken than he already is. Strettle isn't good enough for me. His decision making wasn't great and to be honest the whole back 3 ran when they shouldn't have on more than one occasion resulting in turnovers or penalties. The comments about Manu not looking up, if you saw Tigers v Saracens a week ago he brought a lot more to our game, it's up to the England coaches to free him up for more than crash balls, unless that is what he was told to do. Those crash balls are on of the most effective tools in rugby. Cross the gain line, turn the defence and get quick ball. Dixon wasn't as bad as I expected him to be, in fact I'd go as far to say he was decent.... But, who else could have played ahead of him? Youngs would start all day long under normal circumstance but his form has been awful of late. Wales were toothless and if Foden had cleared his lines or managed to not get himself turned over when he did then England would probably have gone on to win. All in all, a good game of rugby and the future looks more promising for England than Wales. As a side note I saw Haskell playing for the Highlanders in NZ. He's a good player and would be in the England team all day long for me, shame next season he'll be at Wasps who could be in the first division!
Finnegan Posted 27 February 2012 Author Posted 27 February 2012 The future looks more promising for England than Wales lol rofl. I've been very, very well behaved in this thread so far, I've been nice about the English, I've been realistic about our own strengths and weaknesses and I've not gone picking fights (or biting for those that have!) But you've got to be taking the piss. You showed promise and huge signs of improvement but let's not go overboard, you're a long way from having any world class talent and your youth have a lot to learn. Priestland, North, Davies, Cuthbert, Halfpenny, Warburton, Faletau - the list goes on and all of these guys are just kids. A few months ago at the world cup, nobody had heard of most of them. Even Hook and Roberts have years of rugby ahead of them. You're not the only young side building for 2015, we just have a good twelve months head start on you and - frankly - have had to do a lot less scraping the barrel.
General Smuts Posted 27 February 2012 Posted 27 February 2012 I've not read any of this thread because I can't bear to see Finners gloat. I won't be using any Mr Muscle ever again just to spite you.
Guest MattP Posted 27 February 2012 Posted 27 February 2012 Was I the only one that couldn't stop laughing at the fat ****er for England who started chasing the Wales player when he was running in for the try?
Finnegan Posted 5 March 2012 Author Posted 5 March 2012 Sure FoxyPV is disappointed at a missed opportunity but that was a brave result for Ireland and a good performance in places. Bowe is exceptional, clearly one of the best wingers in the world at the moment and a shoe in for a 2013 Lions place if he carries on as he is. Obviously a good result for us and next weekend may be the first time I'm ever inclined to cheer for England!
FoxyPV Posted 5 March 2012 Posted 5 March 2012 Dear Santa, I've been really good this year and all I want for Christmas is a decent set of hands as the current pair are a bit clumsy. Your hopefully, The Ireland Rugby team
Finnegan Posted 5 March 2012 Author Posted 5 March 2012 Dear Santa, I've been really good this year and all I want for Christmas is a decent set of hands as the current pair are a bit clumsy. Your hopefully, The Ireland Rugby team Frustrating isn't it? We were the worst for it back in the 90s, there's nothing more, painful than throwing good opportunities away through sloppy handling. Just composure I suppose. You glad to see Bowe going back to an Irish province?

You glad to see Bowe going back to an Irish province? Poor lineouts and handling cost us the match It made me want to cry yesterday. Good to see the boy come home. BTW Rob Kearney dominated Harinorduqoy in the air. That's what playing GAA can do for your backs
Finnegan Posted 5 March 2012 Author Posted 5 March 2012 Kearney as an absolute beast, I honestly can't pick between him and Halfpenny at the moment for the Lions. And given my obvious bias, that says a lot. Think he and Bowe are the only ones really shining in that Irish backs division at the moment. I'm almost ready to withdraw that nomination of Sexton for ten! Massive shame to see Paul O'Connell out for the rest of the tournament, although I think Reddan is as good as Murray.
FoxyPV Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 We made hard work of beating a bunch of battered pizza + mars bar eating kilt wearing fvcks. Wales nailed on for the Slam.
Haydos Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 Imagine international football teams belting out anthems like this. What is it about rugby? Our 'only 2 tries scored' is a worrying stat, especially as both of them have come from Hodgson charging down kicks Going to need to kick well today and take chances that we didn't against Wales.
Guest Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 Fantastic start for England. 2 wonderful counter attacking tries. So glad they've gone out and shown real intent to win from the start. Now let's see if they can keep it up
ScouseFox Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 Second try was superb. We actually look quite good!
Finnegan Posted 11 March 2012 Author Posted 11 March 2012 My biggest, biggest hope is that France are this poor next week.
Finnegan Posted 11 March 2012 Author Posted 11 March 2012 lol "He's interpreting, Brian." "He can get it wrong in two languages." Hahaha.
