Haydos Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Pretty sure that was down. Nervy times for the kick....
Haydos Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Pretty sure that was down. Nervy times for the kick.... On second thoughts...maybe not
ScouseFox Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Ohhh! I thought it was, but it's impossible to tell either way, looks more likely not than try. Unlucky.
FoxyPV Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Fvcking useless England. A draw would have suit us perfectly. Bollocks.
Finnegan Posted 25 February 2012 Author Posted 25 February 2012 We were crap, England deserved to win, they were much better. Might be disappointing for you but have a lot to be proud of, its a four year plan for you and that was much better. All of that said, that was never a try at the end - clearly held up, sorry!

Neither team deserved it I don't think. Agree it wasn't a try. Was the touch judge Welsh though?!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Was a case of England actually trying to play (Tuilagi made a big difference, every time he got the ball he gained five to ten yards) for a change and Wales seemingly lost for ideas under the weight of expectation. Wales v France will be VERY interesting.
Finnegan Posted 25 February 2012 Author Posted 25 February 2012 I'm an eternal pessimist but I genuinely think it'll be a much bigger performance against France. What we really need now, though, is a big points haul against Italy just in case.
Finnegan Posted 25 February 2012 Author Posted 25 February 2012 Here's hoping. If we're lucky, the jocks'll whitewash n'all.

While he was very effective today he seems to only have one thing in his mind (which is to be expected) but he rarely looks up after making an initial break, he only wants to go further. I think he'd be a lot more effective if he looked for a pass or offload on occasion.

At the moment he's young and physical and just wants to hit people, it's part of the Pacific Islanders' way of life. He'll never be SBW but you have to imagine he'll learn to off-load and distribute a little better than he does now. He's definitely a prospect he's just very, very raw.
Tielemans63 Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 It was a mistake to take Lee Dickson off IMHO. Ben Youngs hesitancy cost England dearly. Also (bit harsh I know) but I thought Mike Brown could have held the ball a split second longer and drawn a defender before passing to Strettle. It would have given DS a 1 on 1 instead of the 2 that were able to hold him up.
Finnegan Posted 25 February 2012 Author Posted 25 February 2012 Thought Lee Dickson cost you the game to be honest. All this rimming he's getting for a good performance is pathetic. He's woeful. The speed of his distribution was a joke, he should have been penalized for his time wasting. Why the **** are you time wasting, at home, against a side that clearly aren't at the races, in the first fifteen minutes? What a joke. If he'd gotten quick ball to your backs instead of twatting around you'd have beaten us. I'm sure of that. Youngs may not be a great replacement but he picked up the tempo and I doubt Strettle would have had that opportunity with DIckson still on the field.

It probably says a lot about BY's recent performances that I thought LD was much quicker to get to the rucks and his distribution much more accurate. BY has been so bad recently it's untrue. I honestly thought LD did well!
Leicester_Loyal Posted 26 February 2012 Posted 26 February 2012 England I thought deserved it, but neither team played well.
Finnegan Posted 26 February 2012 Author Posted 26 February 2012 David Strettle's genuinely annoyed me today. There's a trend amongst rugby players to lose with dignity, far more so than in football (well, with the exception of the French!) Leave the excuse making to the fans, get your head down and just carry on. Strettle's come out blaming the officials for not awarding his try, his try that he clearly didn't ground, that didn't look like it had downward motion on any of three or four camera angles and that even Brian Moore agreed was no try. What a tool. England lost because they butchered the few chances they had and weren't ruthless enough when on top, simple as that. It's a lesson, it's a harsh lesson, but it's a young group of players and they'll come away from this and learn - they've a bright, bright future (it pains me to admit.) But try it was not. Then he's claiming George North deliberately knocked on - despite George North having knocked the ball backwards and all the time he's completely ignoring the fact that the biggest of all the alleged "controversies" in the last five or ten minutes was the fact England could very well have had a man sent off for dangerous play at the line out! Which, again, Brian Moore even ****ing agreed with!

Finnegan Posted 26 February 2012 Author Posted 26 February 2012 Talks straight, criticises both teams equally, and explains the finer points well. Talks rubbish, is frequently miles off the mark and is so massively biased towards England it hurts. Him and Guscott are literally the worst on the Beeb. Well, except Andy Nicholl...
