Lineker's Left Foot Posted 14 January 2012 Author Posted 14 January 2012 ****ing hell you got my hopes up then Sorry mate... I think he will sort it though fella !! Surely even he can see this now??
Revilo Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 dont know about everyone else but i am confident beckford will score when we get a better midfield. The service just isn't good enough!!
Fox 4 Life Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 dont know about everyone else but i am confident beckford will score when we get a better midfield. The service just isn't good enough!! He needs to actually play first, awful starting lineup today. Nuge was having to come and get the ball from midfield himself, god only knows what has happened to Andy King!
whoareyaaa Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 dont know about everyone else but i am confident beckford will score when we get a better midfield. The service just isn't good enough!! Exactly plus he gets hardly any game time. the service is utter shite at the moment though.
deep blue Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Wellens, King, Dyer and Gallagher did OK as our midfield 2 years ago. OK, time's moved on - Wellens' legs seem to be heavier, the league has maybe improved - but equally they have more experience and should have improved themselves. So they ought to be able to form a much more effective midfield than they are doing at present; good enough to be much closer to the play-off mix, and to be seeing off some of the poorer teams. So I don't feel that the answer is total replacement, which is what many posters want. Obviously we need a bit more strength in centre mid and one more winger, but that ought to be enough. It seems to me that the main trick is to be getting them more energised and confident again, and playing together as a unit. Apart from that, the reality is that we couldn't even contemplate getting rid en bloc unless we could replace them all, and more, in the January window - something that I can't imagine would be even a remote possibility.
MGLCFC Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 We are too lightweight and too slow across the middle of the park. We are either out muscled or outpaced. I also think we don't think quick enough and hence slow the gme down too quickly. I think I'd persevere with Andy King, but the rest aren't good enough.
noonston Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 tbh i dont think we should get a whole new team in jan. think we need to be honest with ourselves. i dont think we're going up this season. We wont get the same quality players this jan than will will next summer. If think big names will be more inclined to come at the end of the season, instead of leaving for a team below them. One of two signings now and one or two in the summer. thats all we need oh, and keep Kasper
iamafox Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Our midfield is hopeless, woeful, lacklustre, non-existent, but above all, the midfield is just sh*te.
Kitchandro Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 If only this were true... I'd love Pearson to appear on SSN or EMT sometime in the next 2 weeks talking about his latest additions - 2 wingers, 2 central midfielders and a centre back, who all came out of the blue seeing as there are no positive rumours about such things right now. But lets face it, that's not gonna happen, is it? Oh please tell me I'm wrong.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 I think two wingers and a CM is the bare minimum. I'm sure Pearson has targets lined up, but something needs sorting before Southampton. David Cotterill might turn out to be one of the wingers we are hoping for.
