Mission Unlikely Promotion Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 IF, and I think it's a big IF we were paying Yuki 40 k per week then God only knows who on earth sanctioned this? He was a decent player at best. Nothing more This Good Luck Yuki
seenitall Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 You do know football players earn more than £7 per hour at most clubs don't you? Why would we want players who are happy to earn crap wages - it nearly always means they are.....crap
lcfcadam Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Where's that guy gone who was absolutely convinced that Abe was staying?
jgoode1985.jg Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 When i heard this i thought "fcuk sake" i actually rated Yuki, more than Oakely, wellens, danns. I thought Yuki as a defensive mid and King as an attacking mid and maybe play moussa on the wing , but Abi was a decent signing for us, shame hes gone, but hey thats football
Guest bennytwohats Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Came across like a great guy and tbh I thought he was very underrated on the pitch. Always thought he did his job well and was always baffled why he wasn't given a go in a more creative role. Not gonna lie, I'm ****ing gutted he's gone, massive soft spot for him. Wish him all the best
davieG Posted 25 January 2012 Posted 25 January 2012 Merc Nigel Pearson insists it would have been wrong to stand in the way of midfielder Yuki Abe's return to Japan. The 30-year-old midfielder has had his contract cancelled on compassionate grounds after he expressed a wish to return to Japan to spend more time with his family. Yuki Abe City manager Pearson confirmed the Japan international's wife was expecting their second child and said the termination of his contract, which had 18 months still to run, was at Abe's request. Pearson could have blocked the move as he is short on midfield cover after a spate of injuries, but said it would have been wrong to do so. He will now look to sign a replacement. "The event has been driven by him and in regard to the circumstances it would have been wrong to stand in his way," said Pearson. "We will now look to bring someone else in maybe. "He is a lovely lad and he has served the club well in the 16 months or so he has been here. "He clearly had to put his own priorities first and we wish him all the best for his future. "I was asked in a press conference after the Barnsley game about Yuki and it came out of the blue. It came out of thin air. "I don't really know the details in terms of how that has developed. On compassionate grounds as much as anything. "His wife is expecting a child, and the area of Japan he is from has had to deal with horrific events over the last 12 months. He was in a position where he felt he had to be back at home. "I think it is a shame in some ways but the most important thing is his family." Pearson's injury concerns have grown after Paul Gallagher had to be substituted in the first half of Monday's victory at Southampton because of a back injury. He joined fellow midfielders Andy King, Matt Oakley and Frank Moussa in the treatment room, while Michael Johnson is not fit enough for action. However, the signing of Manchester United midfielder Danny Drinkwater, who made his City debut at St Mary's, has given Pearson a boost. Pearson said: "Gally is one of our best technical players but, unfortunately, he has picked up an annoying injury. We will just have to see how he is for the long term. "He has had this injury before. It is his back. He wanted to carry on but unfortunately he couldn't. "We are struggling for numbers now but I thought Drinkwater did very well when he went on for Gallagher. "I think that was a measure of what he is about. He prefers to play down the middle but he did a great job for us out wide."
ozleicester Posted 25 January 2012 Posted 25 January 2012 Credit to Pearson and the club, thanks Yuki

bluesbrothers Posted 25 January 2012 Posted 25 January 2012 The fact that Ricardo is also in this picture makes it a world less appealing.
SemperEadem Posted 25 January 2012 Posted 25 January 2012 Fair play for him playing in that game at Scunny with all the trouble going on in Japan at the time. My Mum use to see him alot around DMU when he was learning English, he always had a smile on his face. You will always be welcome back in Leicester Yuki.
marko Posted 25 January 2012 Posted 25 January 2012 Can't believe such an average to poor player was on 40 k a week!!!!! Don't be, Andy Carroll is on £80,000 a week at Liverpool. Credit to the club for letting him go and allowing him to be with his family.
