Kitchandro Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 If you think that training - in any aspect of life - can wholy prepare you for the real thing, then you're as deluded as anyone who runs training courses*. *who are deluded muppets. Are you one of those muppets who thinks there's no point practising penalties then? He can build up upper body strength in his own time, you can't do that during games. You can learn to tackle better in your own time, and in training, too. Some of his attempts to tackle (where he'd sort of throw his body at someone in the hope his legs would extend and make contact with the ball, but instead he'd just fall over) were laughable. Besides, he played plenty of game and showed no improvement, it's as simple as that. He shouldn't be played continually in the hope that he gets better, you're either good enough to play or you're not at this level, and he wasn't.
Guest Col city fan Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Me thinks you were having a pop at Sven for Abe's wages... Think what you fookin like... I was making a general statement about Sven and wages I hope you understand now...
gazfox9 Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 I've always liked yuki, and thought has has done well for us when i've seen him. If true hes on 40k a week tho, not too disgruntled hes on his way.
dave the caveman Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 History will probably now judge Yuki as a good example of our odd signings during what has been a stunningly bizarre period for the club. NP is now back and is doing what you would expect by ruthlessly dismantling all the weirdness and hopefully replacing them with a team capable of winning games. But I do worry that we're getting rid of good quality players for no reason. It reminds me of when Steve McLaren made a big show of dropping Beckham only to end up desperately short of a player like Beckham. And we all know how that turned out. Only time will tell whether this is good, confident management or ridiculous misplaced arrogance.
Happy Fox Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Yuki on £40K, crazy why were the owners stupid enough to buy him, he wasn't a Sousa signing he was their signing a stupid error of judgement hopefully not to be repeated again.
Tielemans63 Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Hopefully Nige has another young tyro ready to step in.
Micky Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Abe was not on 40,000 a week. No way near. People need to stop believing everything they read.
Schlupp Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 If we got some money for him then fair enough but cancelling his contract?Bad move imo.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Overrated IMO. Was sick of the Abe sort of posts you'd see on here. Because he was Japanese, and as I've said before a novelty to the fans.
richswin6 Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Since Nigel has come back he's jacked Fernandes Johnson and now baby abe . Why is wellens and damns preferred the 3 above our all internationals ( Johnson u21) it's boring

Her used to have longer legs ..... he's covered so much ground they've worn down a bit!

Why is wellens and damns preferred the 3 above our all internationals ( Johnson u21) it's boring rumours were fernandes WANTED to go, Johnson still with us but hardly got fit, staked his claim, yuki 40k per week, hit and miss when plays.
gosfox Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 It sounds like the annual revolution at the King Power is now well underway
Cat Burger Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 I will have an Asahi in honour of him tonight! I think he will be missed if we don't buy in another DM.
yorkie1999 Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 £40k a week? Interesting. And mental. Unless he generated 40k of Japanese interest
breadandcheese Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Is the 40K a week wage real? Clearly, he's not worth that, but I always thought Abe had a good touch of ability and good stamina. I wish him well and look forward to the Nigel Pearson's revolution.
Leicester Rule! Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Overrated IMO. Was sick of the Abe sort of posts you'd see on here. Because he was Japanese, and as I've said before a novelty to the fans. I would have agreed with you from the first few months of him being here. And agree with what you said about the novelty to the fans. Though I think he had done a solid job more recently, and dissapointed he is going.
PAULCFC Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 C'ya yuki and good luck.........saw one of your goals, but was out having a fag for the other.
OzFox Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Abe looked useful to me, especially when played in his favoured position. He read the game well, was tidy on the ball and surprisingly good in the air. I'm disappointed to see him go but it's not surprising if he's homesick and in and out of the team all the time. Not sure he ever mastered the language either. Wouldn't be surprised if he was on a high wage. I seem to remember Dyer, King, Wellens and Gallagher all going in for "improved" contracts shortly after the new owners came in (and lo and behold they've all lost form)
ajthefox Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Was decent enough but no great loss. All the best.
Jon the Hat Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 This suggests to me that Pearson is getting some real backing from the owners, but rather than just collect players with it, he is using some to clear out those he doesn't want. How many summers have we wished players would go away? I love this.
MikeyT Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 C'ya yuki and good luck.........saw one of your goals, but was out having a fag for the other.
MrSpaM Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Why are people even questioning how much money he was on? Abe is a cult hero in Japan, people like that dont come cheap. If we would have signed Beckham when Sven was here would people really be surprised to find out he was on more money than the rest of the squad? Good luck Yuki, nobody can say you didnt try hard
Happy Fox Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2585119,00.html Leicester City have today (Monday) reached a mutual agreement with Yuki Abe for the immediate cancellation of his contract. After 17 months at King Power Stadium, Yuki has expressed a desire to return to Japan to be closer to his family. Yuki said: "My time in England has been a great experience for me and I am very grateful for the support I have received from my team-mates, the staff at the Club and the Leicester City fans. "But the biggest challenge has been the time I have spent away from my young family in Japan and they must be my priority. "Leicester City is a great Club with great supporters and I hope the team, under the manager's guidance, are able to achieve the success that the fans deserve." Yuki became the first Japanese player to wear City blue when he joined the Foxes from Urawa Red Diamonds in August 2010. In total, the 30-year-old midfielder made 59 appearances for Leicester, scoring in a 4-2 win over Ipswich Town on the final day of last season and the only goal in a 1-0 win over Brighton back in September. Everyone at the Football Club would like to thank Yuki for his contribution during his time with Leicester City and wish him and his family well in the future.
