Find Yuki Abe scenario weird? Sousa said owners bought him+splashed over Bangkok airport+KP. Reported in Japan move halves wages to £20k wk

He was on 40,000 a week :o , it looked like a owners signing as part of the King Power Brand.

Halves wages to 20k a week?

Does that mean we were paying him 40k a week?

We have ourselves a mathematician ;)

Very surpised if true, not gonna take Stringers word for it though!

I have heard a story from someone within the game that he is not the only one of our players on 40k per week

Beckford?

Never felt he played to his full potential. He didn't seem to play like a Japan-regular for us and reading in to how happy the Urawa fans are to have him back, he must have been fantastic over there. Maybe his dream of English football was a world away from reality. He was never outstanding but he was never poor. Just an above average player for us I suppose.

Makes you think though. We had 8 centre midfielders to begin with: King, Wellens, Danns, Fernandes, Johnson, Abe, Oakley and Moussa. At the moment only 3 will have a look in due to fitness and injuries really. Of course, now we have Drinkwater but it's remarkable that the whole midfield has fallen apart so quickly after it looked so overwhelming. Still, I very much have faith in Pearson to bring the right one (if he gets another CM) in.

This club is a shambles with overpayed players and inconsistant wage budgets.

But yuki was a class player just didn't get played enough:(

Oh well pearson better sort it out!!!

Crazy Money for a championship club :(

That's the thing though. The owners were banking on us being a Premiership club by the end of this season.

As I posted previously of those wages he'd be paying a good proportion to his former employer/club. In Japan they don't tend to pay transfer fees directly to the club but rather via the wages of the player who in turn passes the money onto his previous club.

Still thats a **** load of cash.
