cc_star Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 Merc is publishing a story tomorrow that we're preparing an official approach for Hull's Centre Back James Chester http://twitter.com/T...614322185506816 #LCFC are understood to be preparing a bid for James Chester from Hull City - Full story in tomorrow's #Leicester Mercury... http://www.twitter.com/TheNewStatsman IMO another CB who wouldn't be happy on the sidelines 2 from Mills, Bamba, SSL and either Morgan or Chester doesn't add up in my opinion... or perhaps they're all going and Morgan & Chester are targeted as our primary pairing, who knows
Luke.Willoughby Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 I can see either Bamba or SSL leaving and Chester or Morgan coming in to partner Mills...
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 Personally can see Bamba going - just have that feeling in my waters that's all !!
NewburyFox Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 I hate to say it, but have we not learned from the Stewart rejections? They will refuse every time unless we offer absolutely ridiculous money.

Stevosevic Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 Quality player, would like to see him with Mills. They won't accept. Bored of hearing about bids rather than bid accepted.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 **** sake. No we have 4 quality centre backs, we don't need anymore
Bettsj2 Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 I hate to say it, but have we not learned from the Stewart rejections? They will refuse every time unless we offer absolutely ridiculous money. THIS They will not sell anyone to us unless the player asks to leave.
cc_star Posted 26 January 2012 Author Posted 26 January 2012 **** sake. No we have 4 quality centre backs, we don't need anymore We had 4 forward and we needed more We had 417 central midfielders and needed more
FoxTrott Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 Start playing a 5-3-2 maybe? Like we did against Palace, although I suppose that was more a 3-5-2.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 I had this info and stated it when NP returned that we'd be in for Chester. He'd be a very good acquisition in the short, medium and long term, and IMO far more reliable over time than Bamba who's erratic, Tunch who's fitness is doubtful and SSL who, although seems to be in form, has a questionable relationship with NP & possibly an attitude problem.
oadby_fox723 Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 The Chester transfer will be unlikely as Hull won't want to do business with us, and Nigel Pearson won't be offering silly money.
Libertine Dream Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 Bamba will either go or become a midfielder until the summer when he will go
StrovolosTiger Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 Have to say if this is true then either Pearson is not very intelligent (which isn't true) or he is just on a wind up trying to unsettle players of a side he must overhaul to get into the play-offs. This will go the same way at the Stewart episode. Our players are content where they are and unless it is mind-blowing amounts of money, which it won't be, we will treat it with "disdain". Out of interest, how much do you think Pearson will offer? If it's less than £3m he is just playing games.

Just out of interest what has Chester done to warrant a £3m price tag
bluebeau Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 Nigel knows what he is doing ffs. If he is trying to bring in a central defender, then there has to be a good reason why he feels the need to get one. imo Mills & SSL have struck up a good understanding & I would be happy to retain this pairing, subject to injuries or bans. I think the player that may be surplus to requirements is Bamba. I don't think that he is Nigels type of player, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave City. Maybe the reason that Bamba didn't want to take part in The African Nations Cup, was because he knew that he might lose his place in the team due to his absence & Nigel finding a good replacement? Can't see Hull selling to City as there is too much ill feeling aimed towards NP.
Stevosevic Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 They signed him for 300K this time last year.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 When buying centre-backs, we've made a rod for our own back in the transfer market by paying over the odds for Mills.
dannythefox Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 I wish we would give up and stop looking at defenders!

So on that logic (which I love) He's put in two bids for Wes Morgan To put the tree's DOWN lol So who we after from covscum? If that works he could be the new God. (watch out MON he's coming to get you)
Stevosevic Posted 26 January 2012 Posted 26 January 2012 I wish we had Pearson last season and we were signing young quality players like Stewart and Chester for nominal fees.
cc_star Posted 26 January 2012 Author Posted 26 January 2012 I wish we would give up and stop looking at defenders! There's obviously a reason NP knew widemen were needed but something must be happening for him to be after 2 more first team centre backs, it's not like they're going to be happy waiting in the wings, just like SSL wasn't & I'm pretty sure Bamba & Mills won't either
