syston_fox Posted 2 July 2005 Posted 2 July 2005 Check out a copy of today's Sporting Blue. He was buying property in Leicester and that was why he has been spotted around the city. Levein just laughed at any suggestion of him signing for City!
syston_fox Posted 2 July 2005 Author Posted 2 July 2005 can anyone confirm that he was spotted in the walkers or simply seen around that area?
Collymore Posted 2 July 2005 Posted 2 July 2005 can anyone confirm that he was spotted in the walkers or simply seen around that area? 130942 One of my mates told me that he saw Steve McMannaman coming out from the Walkers Stadium car park in his Ferrari. It was Connolly19 who had stated it so enough said

It's not like Leicester is a touristy holiday place is it? Im living in Leicester because I originate from here. 130952 Leicester is just about the most underrated place in the UK - even by its own citizens - and if it's familiarity breeding contempt then its time for a change of attitude (and the same with our football club). One of the UK top 10 biggest cities anyway, Leicester has also been among the richest in Europe and there's good reason to believe it will be prosperous again. Have you looked at the prospective map of the UK for 2035?. Leicestershire is a coastal region. Stand on Beacon Hill looking eastwards and given superhuman eyesight you could see into Russia cos there's virtually nothing but flat land in between. And, the tide's coming in quick as people in Lincolnshire, Norfolk and the hoteliers in Scarborough will readily testify. So property purchased in Leicester (especially given the ever increasing population and scarcity of building land) is sure to be a good investment if people are displaced from coastal towns as well. London is also under threat to the point where I believe it will remain as the tourist captial of the UK but either Birmingham or the combined metropolis of Birmingham/Coventry will become the industrial/commercial capital. Leicester or Leicester/Nottingham will be vying for second City status with Liverpool/Manchester(if they're not swamped) or Leeds/Sheffield. With that prospect it is high time we started changing preconceptions and making our city and our football fashionable at last which means lots of high profile publicity and visionary "can-do" leaders. There is already considerable tourism in and around Leicester and Leicestershire (the heraldic, social and industrial history is considerable) and it's time we made the most of it as well as attending to leisure and recreational needs with more imagination. Vision, commitment and belief should be the new drive-words for Leicester and should be accompanied by a groundswell of new-found pride in what we have done and what we are about to do. Don't forget. They'll be selling beach umbrellas in Uppingham before 2050, mark my words.
TrickyTrev Posted 3 July 2005 Posted 3 July 2005 Why would he want to buy property in Leicester? 130945 It does seem a little strange. Apparently, him and Robbie Fowler own a whole street in Liverpool. 130951 The two boys are very shrewd property developers and own a lot more of Liverpool than just one street. Robbie Fowler was the richest footballer in the Times Money List, they are far from the dumb scoucers people want them to be.

I think he was lucky that the guy that looks after his finances is as good as he is.

Ric Flair Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 Fowler owns over a hundred houses and rents them out. Very shrewd way to hold your money in, I imagine most of them were bought in cash so the rent will go in to the bank and then when he retires from football he'll have a tidy income still coming in with the option of selling a hundred houses at atleast £100,000 each. Lucky bastard.

Fair play and good luck to him, I say. As for property in Leicester, a hell of a lot of money can be made from student lets.
bluefox Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 Well thank fcuk for that. I saw him play for Man City a few times, overrated, overage spice boy.
