Chant snobs.

Threads like this are cringeworthy.

Watching supposed likeminded fans bickering over something so trivial is simply pathetic.

Support the club any way you wish. You pay your money, you take your choice.

Then for fvck sake think of something original yourself ! You just sound like every other moaner ready to criticize but not an original thought in your head. Put up or shut up.

if i want to sit there quiet i will, if i want to join in and even sing this song i will..

i dont have an issue with any one singing anything its up to them, theres some songs i dont personally like, but thats MY opinion , its when silly kids like yourself think you can tell me to "shut up" or "stay away" like your some better fan...

if people want to start new threads slagging off those that dont sing then obvioulsy people will defend..

Whilst, I'd rather this wasn't our no.1 song, i'd take singing "We love you" loudly and the whole place hearing every word, than a small section of L1 and 10% of the Kop singing the same old songs. Yes, I wish we sang WYS more, like everyone else, but if only 500 or so do it, I'd much rather have 5000 singing a "stolen" song.

Hope this continues at Brighton, being a "Palace" song and all that.

No problem with people singing. No problem with people who don't wish to, we're all different. Just wish people who don't want to sing or be 'lary' would sit in the west stand or J-G blocks as the kop was originally advertised as a stand for people who want to make noise. Having said that, I totally understand that the silly money they charge for a seat in the west stand will price quite a few out and as the kop is about the cheapest area, this is why we'll always get a mixture of singers and non-singers in that end. By the way I am not part of the 'sing up yer disloyal buggers' brigade, I respect the right of people to do as they please at football. Just wish it was a bit more organised.

People can sing what they want.

I will sing along with anything that is sung. You're right; it's all about generating atmosphere to spur on the team..

However, who are you to tell me I should stay at home because I think that chant is utter gubbins.

I'm sick of explaining this. You've read and interpreted what I've said incorrectly.

having a read of some of the comments on this thread, and many others, it's clear to me that the main problem is not the layout of the stadium, or the away fans not being near the kop or in fact the songs we sing, the problem with our atmosphere is everyone trying to get one up on someone else.

We have people being told to sing or go home, others saying how cringeworthy the chants are, some won't join in because they're not original and others telling people to come up with something original. Football chants are not born on a chat forum, football chants are born through support.

Where I sit (SK4) you have a bunch of lads who think they are better than everyone else because they sing and others don't. People get a little peeved at them because they then remind the other, quieter fans that they are better than them and they should f**k off home.

This is the problem for me. If everyone got down off their high horse for a moment and realise that we all support the club, just in different ways, then maybe, just maybe there would be a coming together. Maybe more and more would join in without feeling the pressure to do so and rebelling against it. Then they would have no come back about how it's not original or it's embarrassing.

We all have something in common, we all support Leicester and we all like watching football matches. Why does someone have to be better all the time?

Those who sing, sing. Don't criticise those who don't.

And those who don't sing, don't sing. Don't criticise those who do.

And going back to the 'stand up if you love Leicester' chant it's one of my proudest moments to be a Leicester fan, one time when 21,000+ fans all came together when the day our relegation was confirmed at home to Man U. The whole stadium did it.

Excellent post and I agree that day vs Man utd was a great atmosphere and was even remarked on by the commentators that day.

Without reading the whole thread, got to say that the best thing about going to the football was the atmosphere, if I was a kid now, I don't think I woul be a big fan of footy. At least in the old days of standing, if the game was crap, you would just sing, now a lot of LCFC fans don't know any songs and just seem to clap a long if we are lucky, how the Match day experience has changed

Hopefully this will spur people on to start up other chants as well. It WOULD get cringeworthy if we just started singing this all the while now. At least at Brighton there's plenty of potential for other chants :P

I remember chelsea in pen 1 at filbert street singing CHELSEA CHELSEA for the whole second half done ya fvcking head in after 2 mins

Can i ask why ask, why do you go in the kop?

I used to go in there because its where the atmosphere was meant to be. I have always wondered why people want to go in the kop if they dont want to join in as the veiw is crap.

Not having a dig or anything, just curious.

My first season ticket was in the old east stand at filbert street and when we moved to the walkers I originally had my season in L1 but I used to go with my uncle. Then my uncle moved away to Australia and I didn't renew my season ticket there. Instead I have a mate who used to get me all my tickets in the west stand and I went with him. That got tremendously boring so I decided to get my own season ticket again after that 1 season. At the time the south stand was the cheapest/best option. I got to know the people around me and that's where I've stayed. It's a longish and boring story but I like my seat. And now I go on my own it's nice to see the same faces every other week. I do look over at my old seat sometimes and wish SK4 could be as fun

It's painfully obvious to the majority that the atmosphere at the Walkers/King Power Stadium has never been good.

However, last night. We started doing the 'We Love You' chants. And for the first time in our new home, all 4 stands were singing.

We were louder than the Boro' fans as they celebrated going 2-1 up and our SUPPORT won us a point during a game that could have ended up a disaster with officiating controversies.

So answer me this. Why on earth, are there some fans still labelling the song as 'cringeworthy' and a 'copy'. Here's some facts for your mardy arses. The vast majority of chants are copied. It's not Crystal Palace's.

WYS is perhaps the only song that is exclusive to our club so why on Earth is this such a problem? I'm sure you're more than happy to belt out the dull, monotonous, repetitive Leicester chants.

The fact of the matter is, it gave our ground atmosphere, created unity amongst our fans and I was proud to support us last night.

So if you think it's 'gay' or 'queer' or 'cringeworthy' to support our club then do everyone a favour and STAY AT HOME.

so ok if people dont sing the songs you want them to sing or they think its cringworthy gay or queer they should stay at home?? ... so in a ground that holds 32k plus and attracts midweek 20k plus you want half of them to stay at home?? what kinda of atmosphere do you think your gonna get with 10k in the ground?? and how long would our Thai friends continue to support us if we all took that attitude??

FOR THE LAST TIME! STAY AT HOME IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH FANS SUPPORTING THEIR TEAM NOT IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE SONG. GOT IT?
