BrummieFOX Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 Certainly agree with the thread starter. Though I am fully preparing myself for this to be sung literally every 5 mins at Brighton. Could get tedious. But anyway, the current situation at the KP is either pretty much silence, or this, 'we love you' chant, which it seems the large majority are up for singing. I know which I'd choose.
Vlad the Fox Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 I kept hearing a group of people shouting something on the way out of L1 last night, at the time I thought it was "sssseeeeeaaaaatttttssss", but now the more I think about it after reading some people's comments on here maybe it was "sshheeeeppp"? Hope I'm wrong. It was seats. They were taking the rip out of a steward who was shouting at people not to stand on the seats as they were making their way to the exit.
Blueforever Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 I love singin and chanting do it all the time away from home but you know....no need to get so up tight about the FANS who don't at home....don't get me wrong I love it when the ground is rockin but all this f***cking crap about atmosphere and havin a go at people who don't won to sing all the f***cking time right get on me t*ts just chill out dudes

That is a possibility, I remember the first time I heard "stand up if you love Leicester," it was away at Villa in 96 /97 I think and everyone did and it was awesome, then it was just down hill from there until it actually was cringeworthy. Which is shame because if done once a game and everyone joins in it would be awesome, but we tend to overdo these things to death.
Bettsj2 Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 Is there a song in particular you're on about (sorry haven't read the whole thread!!)? I watched via live stream and all I could hear were the thai commentators going bananas at everything. P.S - If you get a chance to watch a game via thai tv, do it. The whole thing is fantastic!!

Bettsj2 Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 Robson & Jerome - Unchained Melody. I think. Then no wonder everyone is so excited. Lonely rivers flow, to the sea, to the sea...................

At least at Brighton there's plenty of potential for other chants
1964FOX Posted 3 February 2012 Posted 3 February 2012 Hopefully this will spur people on to start up other chants as well. It WOULD get cringeworthy if we just started singing this all the while now. At least at Brighton there's plenty of potential for other chants Brighton ain't going to be to pleased with us singing palace's chant so will make itall worth while. However, for all those worried about us copying it, the Fosse Boys sang it at our friendly game against Sunderland so we can claim we did it first just like the Poznan, another Fosse Boy first. Being serious though I don't care who sings what and when, other than racist or homophobic chants, if it creates a bit of atmosphere and fun then who cares what it is. Jump around and twirl your scarf it's a laugh and at 48 I don't give a shit who thinks I look cringeworthy. I also don't mind people who dont sing, their choice.
FantasticMrFuchs Posted 3 February 2012 Posted 3 February 2012 It's painfully obvious to the majority that the atmosphere at the Walkers/King Power Stadium has never been good. However, last night. We started doing the 'We Love You' chants. And for the first time in our new home, all 4 stands were singing. We were louder than the Boro' fans as they celebrated going 2-1 up and our SUPPORT won us a point during a game that could have ended up a disaster with officiating controversies. So answer me this. Why on earth, are there some fans still labelling the song as 'cringeworthy' and a 'copy'. Here's some facts for your mardy arses. The vast majority of chants are copied. It's not Crystal Palace's. WYS is perhaps the only song that is exclusive to our club so why on Earth is this such a problem? I'm sure you're more than happy to belt out the dull, monotonous, repetitive Leicester chants. The fact of the matter is, it gave our ground atmosphere, created unity amongst our fans and I was proud to support us last night. So if you think it's 'gay' or 'queer' or 'cringeworthy' to support our club then do everyone a favour and STAY AT HOME. Who died and made you King of the Foxes
easilee Posted 3 February 2012 Posted 3 February 2012 Not bothered about the thought of nicking chants. It shows respect/recognition (albeit by proxy) to whoever came up with such a bad ass chant. As far as i'm concerned, if you do decide to 'borrow' an idea, the aim should be to try and out-do the originators. Add a twist If poss. Let the good chants roll free of any guilt Lestafarians. (yes I'm mildly toasted )

Walker Posted 3 February 2012 Posted 3 February 2012 I don't go to see Leicester to 'watch' the team, I go to SUPPORT the team. Keep it up guys!

Babylon Posted 3 February 2012 Posted 3 February 2012 How am I supposed to know whether they're on this forum. Get your head out of your arse. You support the club how you like and we'll do the same. If you criticise the way our fans support our club. Then you're a tool. Fact. So where are these people then, who has had a go at you for doing it?
beemeroo Posted 3 February 2012 Posted 3 February 2012 People can sing what they want. I will sing along with anything that is sung. You're right; it's all about generating atmosphere to spur on the team.. However, who are you to tell me I should stay at home because I think that chant is utter gubbins.
flowwolf Posted 3 February 2012 Posted 3 February 2012 people may think its cringeworthy but you dont hear them telling those that sing it to stay at home.. so what makes you better?? people always quick to say "stay at home" .." fk off and support so n so" etc.. like your some better supporter.. bet alot of them that are singing the song and loving it today are half that were against the FB that origianly wanted the euro style, but didnt hear the FB saying if you dont like what we do "stay at home" im actually torn with the song myself., i love the amotshphere and want it to be fun and loud again but on other side think do i want us sounding like every other club and 12 months behind them.... Then for fvck sake think of something original yourself ! You just sound like every other moaner ready to criticize but not an original thought in your head. Put up or shut up.

I remember a premier league game against Birmingham where our fans sang that song. The Birmingham fans remained seated and sang "Stand up if you're going down". It left our lot looking a bit stupid. Probably been done before, but how I laughed. And we did go down too
Jimbo Posted 3 February 2012 Posted 3 February 2012 having a read of some of the comments on this thread, and many others, it's clear to me that the main problem is not the layout of the stadium, or the away fans not being near the kop or in fact the songs we sing, the problem with our atmosphere is everyone trying to get one up on someone else. We have people being told to sing or go home, others saying how cringeworthy the chants are, some won't join in because they're not original and others telling people to come up with something original. Football chants are not born on a chat forum, football chants are born through support. Where I sit (SK4) you have a bunch of lads who think they are better than everyone else because they sing and others don't. People get a little peeved at them because they then remind the other, quieter fans that they are better than them and they should f**k off home. This is the problem for me. If everyone got down off their high horse for a moment and realise that we all support the club, just in different ways, then maybe, just maybe there would be a coming together. Maybe more and more would join in without feeling the pressure to do so and rebelling against it. Then they would have no come back about how it's not original or it's embarrassing. We all have something in common, we all support Leicester and we all like watching football matches. Why does someone have to be better all the time? Those who sing, sing. Don't criticise those who don't. And those who don't sing, don't sing. Don't criticise those who do. And going back to the 'stand up if you love Leicester' chant it's one of my proudest moments to be a Leicester fan, one time when 21,000+ fans all came together when the day our relegation was confirmed at home to Man U. The whole stadium did it.

GLC Posted 3 February 2012 Posted 3 February 2012 This might sound silly, but what are the words to the song that was sung when Boro scored?

I have always wondered why people want to go in the kop if they dont want to join in as the veiw is crap. Not having a dig or anything, just curious.
