The West Indies and South Africa dont exactly possess any top quality spinners We just can't play spin in these conditions, that's it, we carted Amjal all over the place back in England, anyone who wants to dismantle a side that has spent 4-5 years climbing to the top of the world rankings on one series is an idiot. These are the best batsman we have, Taylor and Buttler will get there chance in a year or two, if you start shoving average cricketers like Bopara etc into the side just to prove a point after one series it will do far more harm than good.

The top 5 should be there for a long time though, they are the best batsman this country has produced and are a standard far higher than anything else we have. Some people seem to want to go back 5 years and start trying players like Jay Denly and Owiah Shah again in test match cricket.
Guest MattP Posted 3 February 2012 Posted 3 February 2012 While I am at it DRS needs reviewing at minimum, I like it but "umpires call" really isnt fair, if they have given it then the bowler effectively has 5 stumps to work with. I'd like to see it needing at least half a ball hitting off or leg and the whole ball hitting bails or below.

I read the Guardian over by over report and they said apart from Broad it wasn't particularly special bowling, just some shambolic batting from Pakistan
