SystonFox Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Great offer good thinking. And especially choosing 3 games against localish sides which have some meaning and history, not games vs Burnley, Bristol City and Doncastor
Bert Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Great offer, should fill the seats. ST's recieve? Oh yeah jack shit.
Libertine Dream Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Great offer, should fill the seats. ST's recieve? Oh yeah jack shit. The club get slated for having empty seats(looked an embarassment on FLS tonight) and get slated for offers to try to fill seats. Isnt an ST as much about guarenteed your seat without the hassle of buying tickets as much as anything? I for one would rather have people in the ground to create an atmosphere than have 20000 every week as I feel I enjoy it so therefore get more worth out my ST when there is a feel good factor and decent atmo. Edit:guarenteed your seat

Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. Don't get me wrong, it's great for people that can't get a season ticket for whatever reason. But we commit to the club for the whole season and don't seem to get anything out of it. You'd be guaranteed a seat at the KP if you went down at 2:45 on a Saturday. Saying all this, I guess it's the money they take that matters, not the fans. There's been a better atmosphere at home the past two games too.
MPH Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 This is a great offer... good on the board for doing something special for the fans... it should make them great atmospheres. However, Bert is right... For many seasons the football club has urged people to buy season tickets - we have always been told that our transfer budget largely depends on it. I do of course know under our current owners that might be a bit differant, but the people who are able to purchase season tickets ( and some make sacrifices to do so) really should have something as a reward for doing so. Even if its something like a free program for each game... a voucher for 30% off a shirt... whatever it is, SOMTHING should be done for them.
lcfcadam Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 But we commit to the club for the whole season and don't seem to get anything out of it. Other than being granted a seat to view 23 home games for what is relatively a bargain price?? These one-off offers only give non-ST holders a one-off benefit you know! If you buy a season ticket you're still saving masses over the course of the season...

Edit:guarenteed your seat Speaking for myself here who has a ST in L Block- I didn't buy it to guarentee myself a seat every game. I could sit in about 10k seats most home matches. Personally the oly reason I have a ST in L block is so I can stand. Regardless of guarenteed seats which is a weak argument, the STH (not including me, ive only been one for 2 seasons) are the mainstay of the club
Shrenchel Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Great offer, should fill the seats. ST's recieve? Oh yeah jack shit. The same 3 games for slightly cheaper than this offer and an excuse to have a good whinge anyway.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 The same 3 games for slightly cheaper than this offer and an excuse to have a good whinge anyway. No he has a point. They also need to get the priority thing sorted on the website

The same 3 games for slightly cheaper than this offer and an excuse to have a good whinge anyway. this really has gone round in circles on several threads over the last couple of seasons... but i'll play the game.... The whole point of trying to get someone to commit to a season ticket IS the discount... but it stops becoming a discount if other people then get cheap tickets.
wellyfox Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 How goods this £50 to watch this shite they could of picked some decent teams. Shame the tree's n covscum are not our last two home games. How good would it have been to religate both of them
dave the caveman Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 How much is it per game if you're a sth nowadays (havent been one for six years now)?
Brown Fox Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 How much is it per game if you're a sth nowadays (havent been one for six years now)? For an under 18/student ST holder it works out to just above a fiver a game. Which I think is incredible.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 390 for an adult early bird renewal in l.
Number 6 Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 For an under 18/student ST holder it works out to just above a fiver a game. Which I think is incredible. They don't do students though do they? I'm a student (kind of) but over 22.
gerrytaggart Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Great offer, should fill the seats. ST's recieve? Oh yeah jack shit. The cheapest adult offer for this is stated at £50, while the cheapest full-season adult season ticket would get these 3 games at less than £50 so what is your point? Just be happy that some people on modest incomes who maybe otherwise would not be able to attend these 3 games will be able to go and give their support. Fair play to the owners and marketing team for yet another great idea.
Karljohn Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Wont be renewing my ST for next season, not just because of this but because there have been cheap tickets for the Pompey and I think Barnsley game already, and im sure they will do something for Donny at home too, so 6 matches where tickets have been heavily discounted. I understand its bums on seats but I paid up like many before the season even started so LCFC have been sitting with my £430 earning interest, and all Ive had back is a free bottle of shit lager for going to cov away and £5 off the forest cup ticket. I will just sit it out and wait for the deals next year and pick up the deals that the owners and marketing team want to give.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Season ticket holders should get a free scarf

I just get annoyed that the people that put their money in before a new season has started seem to get very little back from the club, whereas those that don't get lots of great offers.

Agree Season ticket holders don't seem to get much back on the match ticket side of things we do get 10% off in the Megastore and you get priority points for away games so i guess it has it's pros just not enough of them at the minute. IMO I'd like to maybe see a discount in vending i mean atleast 20% off food and drinks at matches then maybe the X amount of season ticket holders will be spending more at the club because we get a discounted rate
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 I am a ST holder and I think its a good idea, the club are usuing promotions to get fans in which is a good thing. I dont know for sure, but i'd still reckon that having a ST is much cheaper than going to most games paying full price even with all the promotions. It gives you priority on awat tickets which is a big help for me and gives you discount in the shop, still think we have a better deal, though I see where the arguement comes from.
Jace Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Season ticket holders should get something back to reward their loyalty like a free meal with Michael Johnson at least then the club will be getting something back from his wages
Shrenchel Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 The whole point of trying to get someone to commit to a season ticket IS the discount... but it stops becoming a discount if other people then get cheap tickets. Even if you took up every offer going, over the course of season a ST still works out fvck loads cheaper. Unless you're sexually attracted to empty blue seats, I can't see why anyone would have a problem with this.
