Gold Coast Fox Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Iv started watching 10 o'clock live on channel 4 and i find Charlie Brooker, Jimmy Carr and David Mitchell all rather funny but Lauren Laverne just isn't... is it just me or are women comedians just not as good?

Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 If the question is do women make good comedians, then the answer is yes, Mrs Copper made a good comedian, So did Mrs Cleese Mrs Gervais popped out a good 'un if some what controversial. The other question is a resounding no! Even lesbians aren't that funny, Sandy Tostvig has her moments, but Rhona Cameron was rubbish.

In general women don't make very good comedians, can't really think of a really good stand up. Lauren Laverne isn't a comic though, she's a former singer and DJ who knows a bit of politics. Whilst the other three are naturally funny, she isn't, so when they sit round the table talking, they fire off one liners and she can't. And everything else she does is read off an autocue, and just isn't delivered as well as the others. She's a presenter trying to be a comic and it doesn't work.

Saxondale Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Almost never funny. And even the women comics that are funny are not that funny. Sarah Millican is probably the only woman comedian I laugh at. She has done very well.
