Tielemans63 Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 I lived in Leeds for 5 years and my mates up there say the appointment has gone down like a lead balloon. He's hated in Leeds as A) he's a Blade and B) he has never been shy to take a pop at Leeds whenever he's had an opportunity in the past. They've now got a manager they despise to go with a chairman they loathe. They'll struggle to do anything while Bates is the owner, he has no interest in investing to get them back up - he's interested in selling on at a profit. He was bloody lucky at Chelsea as they were in the shit financially until Roman bailed him out and he seems to be hoping for lightning to strike twice. Absolutely detest Bates.

Proven manager with an unmatched record of promoting teams from this divison. Even under the constrained inflexibility of working under Bates monatory policy, he gives us a sniff of a chance of prospering. They'll struggle to do anything while Bates is the owner, he has no interest in investing to get them back up - he's interested in selling on at a profit. You're dead right here though and all these Leicester fans thinking that this somehow now makes Leeds certs for promotion next season need to take a closer look at how Bates runs the club. If we don't sneak a playoff spot and go up this season, we will lose Snodgrass, without any doubt at all. We may also lose Becchio, White, Lees, Clayton and McCormack. That's how things are these days. Our talent is there to be sold and we make precious little effort to keep hold of them and scant funds available to our managers to replace them when they have left. As much as Neil is a quality manager, he's not a bloody miracle worker. Currently, i'd say Leicester have a far, far stronger chance of promotion next season than LUFC.

They appoint a manager with a proven track record of getting teams promoted and all the Leeds fans can do is find something to moan about.....
Pub breath Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 No shock there. They appoint a manager with a proven track record of getting teams promoted and all the Leeds fans can do is find something to moan about..... You do seem to struggle with facts, don't you Mack? So you have two contrasting opinions on this page. One from a Leicester fan who probably doesn't know many Leeds fans and doesn't have his ear to the ground with what the general feeling is amoungst the club. Ther other from an actual Leeds fan, who knows many other Leeds fans and has a pretty good understanding of what the fanbase is thinking. You choose to go with the opinion of the person less in the know. Wonder why you would do that? Agenda, anyone? There was a poll on LUFC's biggest forum. Simple question "Are you happy with Warnock?". 93% said yes last time I saw. Facts, Mack. You should learn to embrace them. Whilst we're on the subject, since our recent exchange about Bates the number of national press publications, well thought of journos and pundits that have come out on the side of Leeds fans and their stance against Bates, has been huge. People are waking up and starting to understand what he is doing to the club but you stand as one of the few who still think we should all be sat chocking on his wrinkly old cock. The facts are there Mack, you couldn't be more wrong about Bates and his motives.

In the last 10 years he's got two teams promoted. His record hardly stands out.
Corky Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 Proven manager with an unmatched record of promoting teams from this divison. . Gary Megson
Raj Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 Not as good as these bad boys!!! Craig Levein Martin Allen Nigel Pearson. Rob Kelly Paulo Sousa Sven-Göran Eriksson, Nigel Worthington
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 22 February 2012 Posted 22 February 2012 Warnock is a top manager, and I think that Leeds will thrive with him. Wish you were here Neil.
Captain... Posted 22 February 2012 Posted 22 February 2012 Ah, now I can hate Leeds again, and all is right with the world, I could never hate them while Larry was in charge, but now Warnock and Bates, at the same club, a truly horrible combination.
Guesty Posted 22 February 2012 Posted 22 February 2012 I don't really understand why hes gone there to be honest. They have a good reputation, but atm are a club who sell all their best players, don't replace them and then the chairman blames his managers. I read somewhere Grayson bought in 37 players 33 which of loans (might not be exactly correct). Whilst Warnock is overated his stock seems to be quite high atm in the football world, think if he'd waited he could have got a better job. I doubt he'll be there at the end of next season because Bates will need to scapegoat him for another poor year.
