Molson Canadian Posted 9 July 2005 Posted 9 July 2005 Gerrbrand has issued an ultimatum to his club that he will join City with or without their agreement on a fee. Apparently they are at loggerheads over an agreed price after they increased the asking price at the last minute.Trust......He will be wearing a City shirt this season! 134848 What is your source? 134935 i hope is playing for us next season he sounds like a great player
dhermon Posted 9 July 2005 Posted 9 July 2005 its fact he wants out and wants to come to city!!!!! dont take my word go to www.newsnow.co.uk Lovell is next to join City By Bill Anderson Leicester City expect to complete the signing of striker Steve Lovell from Dundee on Monday after the player went through medical checks yesterday. The player had to return to Scotland straight after talks with City boss Craig Levein but, all being well, he will sign a contract on the eve of the club's trip to Norway. Also, young Swedish defender Peter Gerrbrand has issued an ultimatum to his club Hammarsby that he will join City with or without their agreement on a fee. The player and the club are at loggerheads over an agreed price tag with Hammarsby apparently moving the goalposts at the last moment, but Gerr-brand is determined to become the next addition to Levein's growing new squad. The Lovell deal is further down the line as City have beaten competition from Aberdeen for the Buckinghamshire-born striker's signature and agreed an undisclosed fee with his club. Aberdeen had offered £175,000 and Dundee chief executive Peter Marr said: "We have agreed terms and it is a decent fee considering the market, better than Aberdeen offered." Modest though it might seem, the fee may have saved Dundee from administration and they are relieved to have cashed in on their only saleable commodity and one of their higher earners - in the last year of his contract. Lovell started his career with Bournemouth and Portsmouth, followed by loan spells at Exeter, Sheffield United and QPR, before a three-year spell in Scottish football. City, meanwhile, see their first pre-season action tomorrow when they face Kettering Town at Rockingham Road (3.0). The Poppies expect to include the much-travelled striker Roy Essandoh, the man who scored the fateful FA Cup sixth-round winner for Wycombe at Filbert Street back in March 2002. The City squad has not been named but is expected to be based on the younger prospects. City have finally confirmed their pre-season friendly against Inter Milan will be played on Monday, July 25. Tickets are now on sale.
Cal Posted 9 July 2005 Posted 9 July 2005 I heard Hammarby realise they have Leicester interested and are holding us out for more cash,
filbertway Posted 9 July 2005 Posted 9 July 2005 Was just about to post he had issued an ultimatum, looks like were getting gerrbrand then
Tomassi Posted 9 July 2005 Posted 9 July 2005 lets hope so, he sounds QUALITY and this could mean if we get him our back 4 might look like this.. Johansson - Gerrbrand - McCarthy - Maybury But im not counting my chickens yet
Hitesh Posted 9 July 2005 Posted 9 July 2005 What is the current situation as it stands? Has he acutally been to the club to discuss terms etc or has even got to that stage yet? Sort of lost track of this rumour/news item.
Wellman Posted 9 July 2005 Posted 9 July 2005 lets hope so, he sounds QUALITY and this could mean if we get him our back 4 might look like this..Johansson - Gerrbrand - McCarthy - Maybury But im not counting my chickens yet 135372 Gerrbrand - Johansson - Padster - Maybury
Gené and Tonic Posted 10 July 2005 Posted 10 July 2005 Gerrbrand can play at rb, cb, and lb, but if he came, does anyone know his prefered position? For example Johansson would rather play at centre back than at left back. It would be better if he prefered left back, but you can't win them all!
Babylon Posted 10 July 2005 Posted 10 July 2005 Both are CB's as far as I know. CL has stated Johansson will play CB maybe the other guy can play left back. Or maybe he is just backup and we will get another LB.
supedaj Posted 11 July 2005 Posted 11 July 2005 Heres something interesting; http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/4671105.stm
Simon Posted 11 July 2005 Posted 11 July 2005 Got my fingers crossed as he certainly seems like a promising signing...
LoneWolf Posted 11 July 2005 Posted 11 July 2005 not really read into this player as much as lovell, but by the sounds of it he seems to be good... but i cant see some of the new players getting in, or getting in slots where they would prefer... we dont want them peed off already!! :Plol
alex Posted 13 July 2005 Posted 13 July 2005 HiPatrik Gerrbrand has been playing with Hammarby since 1995 and has gone from the juniorteam to the a-team. He's been playing with the swedish U21-team as a central back and been one of the best players in the games hes played wiht the national team. He is strong and always plays on a high level. He never steps down and have a great hit with hes head. He have a good sence for the play and are always one step ahead from the opponent. He is a future man for the swedish national team and after a few years he can be a teamcaptain for leicester. Hes always sheering hes teammates and never do a bad game. If you can get him for under 1 milj EURO you have made a really good transfer. He's gonna be a very good player in the future Best Wishes from Sweden www.hammarbyfotboll.se 132681 Many thanks for you taking the time to find us and leave your opinion. Many thanks and good luck for the coming season, whoever your team is!!! (Unless of course it's scum like Derby and F***st and Cov...)
supedaj Posted 13 July 2005 Posted 13 July 2005 Indeed - thanks for the insight. Sounds like we neeed someone like him in central defence!
Thracian Posted 13 July 2005 Posted 13 July 2005 Indeed - thanks for the insight. Sounds like we neeed someone like him in central defence! 137223 Future captain, Praise doesn't come much higher than that. What a reference formed over a decade or so. Always think you get good value off the Scandinavians and if the info says anything less than £1m was cheap then the squad value should go up a notch straight away. Don't suppose CL knows any Scandinavian strikers!!!i
Molson Canadian Posted 13 July 2005 Posted 13 July 2005 http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~684397,00.html it's on the OS now

Sounds like we neeed someone like him in central defence! 137223 Future captain, Praise doesn't come much higher than that. 137236 errrh, isn't that what MA said about Heath! He does sound good through!
supedaj Posted 14 July 2005 Posted 14 July 2005 MA said that about Heath yes - and then included him in his lucky dip for his 'weekly changing back four'. Micky also said Keown had hunger Micky also said Paul Brooker was a very skillful player and he could come on and change things as a substitute ;o) there were a lot of things MA said - I dont think even he knew what he was saying half of the time. Fans see their team play week in and week out and generally provide credit where credit is due, especially when a good player leaves - so the review on gerrbrand looks v promising ...
step Posted 14 July 2005 Posted 14 July 2005 According to MB the deal is nearly sorted. so he should be signing today
gurkbasurken Posted 14 July 2005 Posted 14 July 2005 According to MB the deal is nearly sorted. so he should be signing today 138170 Yeah, but does anyone know how the medical went, and if he has signed yet then, shouldn't he be on his way to the camp in Norway? And does anyone by any chance happen to sneaked out exactly how much the deal was? The rumours here in Sweden says about 300.000 pounds, and more to come if/when Leicester wins the Championship + a transfer fee if he goes to another club in the future. /g

I assume you mean £300,000 plus an extra fee if we win promotion to the Premiership, plus a percentage of the future transfer fee if he is sold on at some point (a sell on clause).
