cono Posted 6 July 2005 Posted 6 July 2005 City's bid rejected ! 06.07.2005 - The Cunning Fox According to Swedish newspaper Expressen, the signing of Patrick Gerrbrand is on hold. Hammarby wants more money than the bid City have given, believed to be around £ 300 000. The move can still be on if City comes back with an improved offer. Yesterday Hammarby's assistant coach Thom Aalund said that the bid from Leicester City was a joke and that Gerrbrand was valued to around £ 1 millon.
STUHILL Posted 6 July 2005 Posted 6 July 2005 Bugger! We will never go that high - maybe push to 500k but one million YIKES. Well gutted, he was going to be good catch!
STUHILL Posted 6 July 2005 Posted 6 July 2005 Although just read article and maybe if we just up the offer a bit, we can land him - i think they are just squeezing all the money they can out of us - if we sell sticks for 200k, then we may have enough! Fingers crossed!

LoneWolf Posted 6 July 2005 Posted 6 July 2005 The more defenders the better, if their wasnt a challenge at the back the players woukld think 'oh i am gonna get in next week' but with players like this who can play all over the back line, no one knows where they stand.. hey will all be trying to get into the squad... The reputation is also important.. all these players are looking to make a break trhough into the leauge and they aint going to be doing that by throwing dodgey goals away.. I am sure that building the team this way is a good start... After this i would say that was all for the defence as we dont want players getting to fustrated that they aint getting in atall.. If Lee Morris is fi next season he would be good for us (can he play down the left) becuase when i watched him last season (the season before who knows) i saw alot of talent and spark from him.. With conolly we have the pace, I am not to sure about De Vries but we can rely on Dublin to give 100%, so a fast striker with alot of energy and skillful would be my option for the slot upfront. (I AM WELL EXCITED FOR NEXT SEASON!!)

Fingers crossed! 133329 Certainly the Heath sale seems protracted. If it takes this long to make his mind up how the hell does Taylor ever cross the road?. Seems to me he's playing silly buggers. Has someone else in mind but keeping Heathy dangling while Leicester could be selling him someplace else. I wouldn't sell anyone to Taylor. I tell him to sod off and only talk to other interested parties. With the Swedish lad there must be a way of negotiating the right outcome.

It's very rare to hear of clubs paying transfer fees all up front unless they are nominal fee's like we pay. I think once we've got a few quid for Heath and binned Canero, we should be able to put a package together to get this lad in. I heard his contract was to expire this year, so any sort of decent fee for him they should snap our hands off. Here's hoping anyway.

I rather think Heathy might be the one taking his time to make his mind up, after all he's a Leicester lad and loves the club so I cant see him wanting to leave if it can be helped...

Gené and Tonic Posted 8 July 2005 Posted 8 July 2005 We definately won't be able to afford him if we get Lovell.
TornadoShaunUK Posted 8 July 2005 Posted 8 July 2005 We definately won't be able to afford him if we get Lovell. 134828 I personally would rather have Lovell - i feel we need a new striker in the ranks more than we need a new defender..

Gené and Tonic Posted 8 July 2005 Posted 8 July 2005 Yeah, but I doubt we could afford both. Unless we sell someone like Williams.
alf Posted 8 July 2005 Posted 8 July 2005 Gerrbrand has issued an ultimatum to his club that he will join City with or without their agreement on a fee. Apparently they are at loggerheads over an agreed price after they increased the asking price at the last minute. Trust......He will be wearing a City shirt this season!
