GBLCFC Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 It was, but it went on for bloody ever. Yeah I know! They must have sung it for at least 10 minutes! But it gradually got louder and I thought it was impressive. The rest of the stadium also joined in later with the clapping. Hopefully it will be sung again against Forest!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Thought you'd have summut to about the Marshall chant? Why? There aren't any gay words to this
purpleronnie Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 gay words eh? I agree with lcfcstu, we really dont need homophobic chants to improve the atmosphere.
Bettsj2 Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Ever since 'We Love you' came on the scene, the atmosphere both home and away have really turned up several notches. It's actually starting to sound like a football ground.
Guybino Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 quickly becoming the best sounding fans and home atmosphere in the championship
Halfsy Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 quickly becoming the best sounding fans and home atmosphere in the championship Behave. Palace's Holmsdale Fanatics are by far and away the best in this division, L1 just copy all of their chants.
Craig Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Behave. Palace's Holmsdale Fanatics are by far and away the best in this division, L1 just copy all of their chants. And they don't copy chants?

Bettsj2 Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 And they don't copy chants? Its completely besides the point who sung the chant first. Its all about the atmosphere. Hopefully, once it gets to the point where all the fans are not afraid to sing, all of our classic chants will start to come back.

Bettsj2 Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 That's exactly my point. It's improving, at last. I'm actually considering driving back from Cornwall on Tuesday for the game now.
stourbridgefox Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 would anyone like to hear a view from the West Stand? Tough, here's one anyway. Usually when 3500 partisan away fans roll up it is only going to go one way. The atmosphere will be totally dominated by the away fans and it will be pretty embarrassing. Well...that didn't happen today. The Hull fans made a pretty lively start and I expected it to continue. But... the moment 'I love you' started they were shut up and stumped. Likewise with 'Ben Marshall' or whatever its real name is in the second half. We didn't used to get out sung at Filbert Street. I know because I used to go in the Kop. There, we had a greater volume of singers and a low roof to amplify our sing and chanting. At the King Power Stadium L1 starts at a disadvantage because they are outnumbered by the away fans. It has took a long time but maybe the stadium is finally finding an identity. Transplanting the traditional songs from Filbert Street has never been enough and if it is a continental style that gets the place bouncing, then so be it. I'm not saying don't sing the old favourites but do people who complain about these new songs prefer 30 seconds of old song or a whole half of a new song? No competition really is there. And...well done to all who made it happen!
Voll Blau Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 We copied their chants yes. But we have made the chant much better, plus we use scarves Christ wept, you really are clueless.
Kitchandro Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Cannot understand the obsession with Palace fans. They have a smaller singing section than us. Yeh they're pretty good in their own way and they have these different, continental style songs but so what? They're overrated.

Just shows that Ultras groups, when done properly with clued up lads who have anti modern football views, can work in this country. There was pretty much no kind of fan culture going on at their club before them, now they have ex-players coming to booze and sing with them... It's about being more than just a singing section, sadly not something most people understand here.
JonnyBoy Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 Atmosphere was class today, loved it. I hope its the same on Tuesday. it will be better on Tuesday!

Leicester_lad_92 Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 The atmosphere seems to be picking up of late:) keep it up lads back the boys UTF!!<3

I'm against modern football too but if I sit on my arse all game that doesn't make one shred of difference. Besides, the fans in that video are just walking down the road singing songs. What so 'cultural' about that? We were doing that at Chelsea and Forest. We're talking about the noise that the fans make in the ground here. Palace can have views on what they like but I think Hull were better today than they were in November. Besides, we shouldn't glorify the Ultra culture too much. Around Europe a lot of Ultra groups are full of hooligans and people who are basically the equivalent of EDL supporters here with their radical views.

Reckon you could do with a bit more education kiddo. That's all I'll say on the matter. Bottom line is I'm genuinely delighted the home atmosphere's on the rise, but it's a shame we can't channel it into something more original/meaningful.

But personally I couldn't give two shits about 'culture' if they don't sound very loud, after all that's what the actual supporting part is about. What do you mean by 'meaningful'? Is it not enough that the whole point we go down to the footy is to the support and watch our team? That is the meaning of what we do. Do we need to campaign for something completely irrlevant to be proper football fans now?
Babylon Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 now they have ex-players coming to booze and sing with them... Yeah like that wasn't the most organised video of the year. The silence before and the bum licking after was so obvious.
Corky Posted 24 March 2012 Posted 24 March 2012 After the sending off the crowd was excellent, played it's part in seeing us through.
