Kitchandro Posted 26 March 2012 Posted 26 March 2012 If we're getting less than 26K against these twats the Thais need to seriously rethink their pricing structure.
Gold Coast Fox Posted 26 March 2012 Posted 26 March 2012 If we're getting less than 26K against these twats the Thais need to seriously rethink their pricing structure. I agree but with the huge wage bill, can we really afford to lower the prices? (suppose cheaper tickets = more people)

(suppose cheaper tickets = more people) Maybe the wage be should be lower. I bet they'd get as much money with 28K with tickets at a reasonable price, as the extra few thousand would be buying refreshments etc.
Out Foxed Posted 26 March 2012 Posted 26 March 2012 I agree but with the huge wage bill, can we really afford to lower the prices? (suppose cheaper tickets = more people) Supposedly (according to ppl who have posted on here in the past) it doesn't work like that.

The Year Of The Fox Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 Supposedly (according to ppl who have posted on here in the past) it doesn't work like that. Can't see why it wouldn't. Charge 15 quid per adult ticket, and for a weekend game you'd expect to get at least another 5k extra through the gates. (5k seats that would sit empty otherwise) they're bound to buy something from the club shop or the concourse before the game and at halftime

The Year Of The Fox Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 What about season ticket holders? I don't know! They've paid their money beforehand. They'd have to drop the price of them too. It may encourage me to renew! It's criminal really. All clubs are losing out through sheer stubborness. What's the average price of a ticket on a matchday? Would 22 quid be fair? Use the 23k attendance from Saturday as an example. 23k x £22 gives you £506k. Should you manage to fill the ground 32k paying an average of £15 each gives you about 480k. Then you could take into account the 10k extra fans there would increase shop revenue by upto 50% on a matchday. Of course its all bollocks and speculation without any figures. My point being I'd sooner the 10k empty seats be filled by everyone paying a quid for a ticket than leaving them empty. It wouldn't bother me
wellyfox Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 What about season ticket holders? What about them. They pay the money so they are the onlyones offered a ticket for Chelsea away. Charge em less then make em que with every other fvcker for a ticket. They wont fvcking like that either.

Considering that they wouldn't all be buying themselves refreshments, it seems a bit optimistic to expect an average spend of £2.60/fan. Also, 10k fans are very unlikely to increase shop revenue by 50% on what 23k fans were paying - if we assume the same % of that 10k purchase refreshments as of the 23k, then you're increasing revenue by about 43%. And that's after being optimistic about the ground filling up in the first place, which simply won't happen on a weekly basis unless they start giving the tickets away.

Do the club make much money from the sale of refreshments? A private company, D&J Catering operate the food stalls. Do they pay LCFC to have the stals and rake off all the profit, or do the club employ them, and the club take the profits? Any-one know?

I'm not trying to argue as such as your figures do make sense, but when you consider a pint costs £3 it'd soon make up the difference
accessory Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 22 800 (1200 Forest) 3 points of note: 1) Premium price - not good, especially on a night when there are FOUR games on live TV this evening 2) Second home game in four days. 3) Pitiful away turnout, especially from a side that scored seven in their last away match. We ALWAYS took more than that to their place, even during the decades we never won there. The time may be coming where we treat them as neighbours (like Coventry or Peterborough) rather than serious rivals.

Guest Col city fan Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 £3.60 a pint It is indeed! Robbing bar stewards!
Corky Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 23,452 (312) I was only 40 out (23,412 actual attendance).
Poakey Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 Well done Top, you're making us look well good. To be fair if it hadn't been moved from a Saturday we'd have had 26/27,000. They would have took more for a start.
