sbfox Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Yeah, defend the indefensible as usual. We need a team, not a bunch of prima donnas With any luck Pearson will get rid, if anyone wants him of course. He may be a good finisher but his ALL ROUND GAME, as I said weeks ago, is not good enough. And he sounds like a spoilt kid today. So running the full length of the pitch to defend, while Morgan is sitting up front (doing eff all) is spoilt? It doesn't show a willingness and desire for the team? Col city, as usual, choosing to see what he wants... Still think you might be a WUM if I'm honest.
Charl91 Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 STOP SAYING EGOS! Mills is the only player who seems to have a big ego but we don't even know the story behind that. And with regards to Beckford. Nobody knows him either. What does 'having a strop' have to do with his ego? They're nothing to do with each other. These cliches are boring and tired and are part and parcel of football anyway. This. It's very cliche, and "egos" isn't the same as "playing badly". People seem to think the problem is players with 'ego's', but the problem is we're not playing well enough.
HoustonFox Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Cannot stand people complaining about 'spending X amount of money' - YOU CHOSE TO! Yes, the performance was poor, but just because a match is a certain price doesn't mean you are guaranteed to see the spectacle you want! Notice how he had nothing beyond "we spent a lot of money"? Why phone just to say that?

Think what you fookin like pal Don't bother me one bit. If you want to defend Beckford today that's up to you. Can't say I'm surprised we lost today. And Pearson needs to begin his own squad, not Svens. Anyway, beer in town calls... Adios amigos

Woah I completely agree. I think I should have put "egos", as that's what everyone else is saying. Mills has an ego. From what was said on RL, Beckford clearly thought he knew better than Pearson today, or simply refused to do what he was told. That is quite egoistic. But yeah, either these billy big bollocks who think they know better need to leave, or we need a manager who can handle them.
Bobcat Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 We are proof this season that money can't buy success. Keep Pearson, he knows this and will build a team not a bunch of individuals in it for the money.

If you are a striker and told to get up the pitch when you are a goal down near the end of the match you just have to do it. You shouldn't even need to be instructed to do so... Refusing to do so isn't playing for the team.

Anyway, beer in town calls Can't say I'm surprised we lost today. And Pearson needs to begin his own squad, not Svens. Easy tiger... I'm just not willing to jump on the bandwagon and start slagging off the players, just because Alan bloody Young has some kind of issue with them. How many other of our players got back to defend in the last 5 minutes? Did we see Nugent, or even the fresher Schlupp sprinting back? Did wonder boy Marshall see fit to get back either? No. I'm not saying Becks had an amazing match and he probably should have scored, but you're blindness is simply astonishing. Its almost like you're choosing to do it. If you are a striker and told to get up the pitch when you are a goal down near the end of the match you just have to do it. You shouldn't even need to be instructed to do so... Ilkeston_Fox Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Well that was shite. Crap performance, missed some absolute sitters. Red wasn't the best. They made no noise until the last 10mins and to top off all of that, our lot had a barney with each other - I saw a lad with a bloody nose and that's before we left the terrace. Dickheads.

You have your opinion but don't accuse me of wumming. That's just an insult. We don't agree... End of.. I've stated Becks can be a cool finisher but I'd like a different striker next season. My opinion, some agree some don't But don't call me a Wum Over and out..

It wasn't meant to be angry at you, you were just the latest to mention it There might be one or two, we might have judged Mills and Beckford correctly but NP is the only person who knows and can do something about it. We need to trust him on that, he's the one with them day in- day out and it would be counter productive for him personally to make the wrong decision on certain players. It just grates when people mention 'all' the egos in the squad when there's maybe a couple. There are other, bigger issues at hand when it comes to our performances.
HoustonFox Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 I wonder if he's (NP) made it clear who he wants out already but is still playing some of them. Or. just the shape isn't right / not fitting and he's tinkering but it's not working. Sounds like NP is frustrated it works one week and not the next. We've got some players missing but at the same time, I don't understand playing Nugent out of position.

Well whatever the situation is, judging by NP's interview there's gonna be changes in the summer. He's going to "deal with Beckford" in-house, and there are some things he can't change until the summer, apparently. Hmm...

Not quite sure why you defend him so vigourously. He hasn't played well for us overall. He is clearly petulant, his play IS egoistic whether he is personally or not. I have no problem with your defence of his character though why you would know anymore than whoever it is attacking him I'm not sure, but he's NOT good for LCFC, the quicker that mistake is reversed the better. Overall I was fairly happy with Sven's signings but Beckford was more of a "got to sign a striker and I've missed out on the 5 or 6 I want - who is available? signing". Sadly he was being sold because he isn't good enough.
lcfcadam Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 At the moment 'Leicester City' is represented solely by the loyal fans. The players are dreadful, the manager is delusional, the owners are totally detached - it's just all so embarrassing. Glad I came today cos I found a really great pub, but that's about it.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 A load of ****ing garbage. The team desevred the 'What a waste of money' chants at the fuill time whistle, as well as the boos they got. Was the worst performance i have seen by a long time, by the players and as a team or a unit. Need a big big change around for next season, half of that team arent good enough or arent bothered so get rid. How we lost today i dont know as they were shit and we dominated but with no final product. That pissed off i don think i will go to another game this season, rather save money.
Houdini Logic Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Well that was shite. Crap performance, missed some absolute sitters. Red wasn't the best. That's the guy who turned round and said 'don't boo your team' and some wannabe del boy decided to smack him instead of putting forward a good argument to the contrary. Absolute joke

Sadly he was being sold because he isn't good enough. I don't know. I feel he deserves a chance and as he's not one of the try-hards like Waghorn he's instantly on the back foot with a lot of our supporters. Personally I'd give him another season as I feel writing players off after one season is downright naive (unless they're clearly very crap, which he isn't). I don't know why players like Peltier, Bamba, Dyer, St Leger, Morgan don't get them same amount of stick when they've been similarly poor. I just can't work it out. I've not claimed to know more, I've said we should stop thinking we know players. Like I said, I trust Pearson to do what's right. He comes across as a no-nonsense type of guy and i'll go with his decisions when it comes to individuals and their 'egos'. You say he's not good for the team like it's a fact. If we can get someone better in then fair enough but until then I think he's a decent enough option, even if he isn't as likable as Nugent.

I'm happy to disagree on his ability and leave it at that - I just give my interpretation of what I see after 40 years of watching Leicester teams. I've nothing against unlikable players in fact I've long been drawn to them. I don't find him unlikeable I find him not good enough or at least not the type of player we need (I don't think he's good enough but I'm happy to have it phrased in the second manner).

CasperBlue Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 "Can't score shit against a shit F*4st team and now lose 1-0 at crappy Peterborough" "we can't even beat peterborough with the worst keeper in the league" Cardiff Middlesbrough Birmingham Blackpool Reading All teams above the Foxes who have failed to win at Peterborough, so no big deal to lose there. Perhaps expectation exeeds reality?
