Southern Fox Posted 19 April 2012 Posted 19 April 2012 1. Schmeichel KEEP - Quality keeper, best we've had for ages - needs to command 6 yard box more on crosses 2. Peltier KEEP - Consistent season and best RB for a while - needs to work on positioning defensively when balls played in 3. Konchesky KEEP - After hearing horror stories prior to signing, has been decent. Has looked tired in run in 4. Pantsil SELL - In my opinion, a complete waste of wages 5. Mills SELL - face doesnt clearly fit - improved after shaky start and then was out never to return 6. Bamba SELL - if we can cash in lets do it. Most entertaining player to watch and certaintly talented but at times positioning and mistakes are costly 7. Gallagher SELL - great ability but not up for the fight. Lightweight and when he is not scoring freekicks or pens, I ask myself what he does 8. Oakley SELL - good servant at club, but wont be in the mix next year just like this 9. Howard SELL - as above, but as his sub appearances have shown in run, not good enough anymore 10. King KEEP - Need more than goals from King. Needs to find form from seasons 09/10, 10/11 but will be needed in squad next year 11. Dyer KEEP - As it stands, the squad lacks width and wingers to the point so Lloyd remains. Good squad player at this level 12. St. Ledger KEEP - May move on after frustrating season but I rate him and would like him around next year. Committed and no nonsence 13. Vassell KEEP - Probably worth hanging on for another season. As above a good squad player at this level 14. Waghorn KEEP - Good pre-season and confidence that NP gives him, could be like a new signing 16. Drinkwater KEEP - Want him starting middle of the park next year. Bright and creative. Seen enough to think worthy of a squad place 18. Moussa KEEP - Odd signing as seems to be not a bad player yet cant get in. Would like to see given a chance 19. Wellens SELL - Past his sell by date. Move on if we can and lets get a new general in. Good servant but time is catching up with him 21. Weale SELL - Time to cash in - young keepers in the wings and not needed 20. Beckford SELL - Showed glimpses but in this league you need fight and resolve of which he gives you neither sadly. Wanted to love him. Couldnt 22. Marshall KEEP - Looks dangerous and could be a steal. Pre season with us and he could be the one to watch next year - 10 goals+ 23. Danns KEEP - Once settled was our best midfielder before red card. Hope he stays. Box to box and we need that 25. Logan KEEP - Happy to warm bench and we need one 26. Morgan KEEP - Looked class when he first joined but seen many faults since. Wont be sold as NP signing - hoping for better 27. Schlupp KEEP - Hasnt been same since injury. Needs to be played through middle not out wide. More opps next season 30. Kennedy SELL - Good back up at LB but think he wants more than that and PK wont be dropped so cash in 31. Smith KEEP - Appears to be a GK with promise 32. Parkes KEEP - Highly rated youngster 33. Tunchev SELL - Release/ Sell - injury killed what could have been a great career here 34. Moore KEEP - Great debut but wants games - unsure how NP will keep him happy unless loaned again. 35. Nugent KEEP - Oddly pushed out wide in the run in? But still remains our biggest goal threat. With a better partner up top will get 20+ next season 36. Taft KEEP - Highly rated youngster 37. Hopper KEEP - Will get more opps next season
kingfox Posted 19 April 2012 Posted 19 April 2012 Agree with most of them apart from Waghorn and Kennedy. Would sell Waghorn, he won't play again next season if we buy one or two more strikers. I like Kennedy, really underrated and deserves to stay, so I wouldn't sell him. Everyone else I agree on, but I can see Vassell leaving I hope he doesn't though.
HEGGSY Posted 19 April 2012 Posted 19 April 2012 So you want to get rid of Mills because he doesn't have a fit face?
Mark_w Posted 19 April 2012 Posted 19 April 2012 I don't think doing this particularly helps but, 1. Schmeichel - Keep 2. Peltier - Keep 3. Konchesky - Keep 4. Pantsil - Sell 5. Mills - Sell 6. Bamba - Sell (Think he's a little overrated TBH, I'd keep him as back-up but I think this season is the last that we could properly capitalize on his start and make a bit of money back) 7. Gallagher - Sell (I'd have said keep as back-up before the game, but he deserves to be at a club whose fans won't boo him because he isn't the best player) 8. Oakley - Sell 9. Howard - Sell 10. King - Keep 11. Dyer - Keep 12. St. Ledger - Keep 13. Vassell - Keep 14. Waghorn - Keep 16. Drinkwater - Keep 18. Moussa - Sell 19. Wellens - Keep 21. Weale - Keep 20. Beckford - Sell (Think he's a good player but based on the money he is on I reckon we could do better for less money, like Waghorn for instance) 22. Marshall - Keep 23. Danns - Keep 25. Logan - Sell 26. Morgan - Keep 27. Schlupp - Keep 30. Kennedy - Keep 31. Smith - Keep 32. Parkes - Loan Out 33. Tunchev - Sell 34. Moore - Loan Out 35. Nugent - Keep 36. Taft - Loan Out 37. Hopper - Loan Out
coolhandfox Posted 19 April 2012 Posted 19 April 2012 Your list has a lot leaving, I believe stability is the key with 3 or 4 key additions, with a few too leave i.e. Pantsil, Tunchev, Moussa, Logan. I would keep Mills and Vassell but think NP will be moving them on. I believe Oakley has already left by mutual consent.
Guest foxestalkisfullofidiots Posted 19 April 2012 Posted 19 April 2012 Pretty much agree but I wood be tempted to cash in on Andy King if we get a decent offer, keep Kenardy if he is happy to be back up and I think Wellens has got another season in him, the only problem I think we will have is getting someone to take Mills and Beckford off us, really can't see anyone in the Championship taking on there wages.
Big Dave Posted 19 April 2012 Posted 19 April 2012 Is anyone else bored of these "who would you sell, who would you keep" threads? There seems to be new ones every week!

He seems to impress everywhere he goes but maybe not quite good enough for us? Who knows! Oakley has gone yes. I think certain players to go are Logan, Pantsil, Mills, Howard, Tunchev plus a few more. 3/4 signings max should do the the trick

Hopper KEEP - Will get more opps next season I agree with everything apart from selling beckford and Kennedy! JB needs a better playmaker behind him, someone like Robert Koren from Hull or perhaps Jamie O'hara from what will be a championship Wolves next season! The latter would be fantastic! As for TK, he should be kept because he's been class when he's played however; I think he'll want to go because he's easily good enough to be a first team player else where in our league shame if he does!
cc_star Posted 19 April 2012 Posted 19 April 2012 Think we need to work more with what we've got, to many comings & goings will mean we start next season getting to know each other again Players like Pantsil & Mills will be gone I'd have thought, although it depends how lucrative their contracts are. Howard could easily do a job in someone's first team further down the leagues too. Personally I'd sell Beckford & Bamba and get in players who we think would be able to do a consistent job in those positions, ie. a forward who scores goals & a defender who defends. Beyond that, I think we need a creative spark in midfield to partner Danns' industriousness
kingfox Posted 19 April 2012 Posted 19 April 2012 Another person wanting us to keep Mills, and another moan by me It's like all these people who say that, haven't seen him play at all this season, he is the one player I would happily drive to his next club. And where it says stripping down, I would strip him down and wack him with sticks, until he shows some appreciation to our club and begs to cut out his hoof ball crap.

Personally I can see why some people would think he's one of our two best center backs, but god knows what he's done to endear some of the people on this forum. A lot of the people who rate Mills so highly are the ones who want Nigel out, I think he's an anti-Pearson symbol for them, because the people who think he's our best player certainly can't be judging him on his football.

It honestly baffles me, that some people still rate this lad. Im like really really really whenever I see someone say that, he should stay, I want to see him in the starting 11 next season. I just think jesus guys haven't you seen him play for us? Whoever wants him to stay are proper deluded people, it's like they think giving away passes left right and centre, and playing hoof ball is the way forward and it's attractive to watch. It's not it's boring, annoying and shit, Mills is crap and deserves to leave hopefully to Leeds United, where he can partner Kisnorbo or Alex Bruce.
foxesfan1989 Posted 19 April 2012 Posted 19 April 2012 Get rid of these: Weale Tunchev Pantsil Mills Howard Logan Moussa Beckford Wellens Vassell Harsh on Wellens and Howard maybe, i have nothing against them, i even quite like them! But i want us to be in the Premiership more, and you need to be cut throat to get there.

Personally think Wellens would be good to have on the bench so he can come in and do a job when we're beating sides, I think Nigel rates him as well, a lot I'd guess will come down to how happy he'd be with Gally going.
MrSpaM Posted 19 April 2012 Posted 19 April 2012 I think it'd be a good idea to keep Vassell at the club, must be good for players like Schlupp and Hopper having someone with his experience training with you

causer7 Posted 19 April 2012 Posted 19 April 2012 1. Schmeichel - Keep (best keeper in the championship this season, might struggle to keep him though) 2. Peltier - Sell (looked good first half of the season but has struggled to cope second half if season and slows play down too often) 3. Konchesky - Keep (most consistent player for us this season) 4. Pantsil - Keep (he should be in leicesters team every week, captain of ghana, was in the AFCON team of the year this year, how can he not get into our team?) 5. Mills - Keep (I can't see this happening but would love him to stay and be given another chance. On his day he is one of the best cb outside the premier league, been treated bad) 6. Bamba - Keep (but I would play him just in front of the back four, showed he could play there in recent weeks) 7. Gallagher - Sell (no passion when he plays, he can't even take free kicks or corners anymore and is a waste of a squad member) 8. Oakley - Sell (heard that he was already in process of having his contract terminated) 9. Howard - Sell (afraid to say he's had his day, new target man like henderson required) 10. King - Sell (personally I would get rid of him, too lightweight, no pace and doesn't look like he will get the form he had 2 seasons ago back) 11. Dyer - Keep (although I think a new winger is required as lloyd has too many off days, I still think that he is a good player to have to bring off the bench and have an impact on the game) 12. St. Ledger - Keep (came in the squad during the season and showed what he can do with done very good performances) 13. Vassell - Keep (on his day he is the best player in our team, scares defenders like he did against brighton at home, something we've been missing) 14. Waghorn - Keep (always gives 100% for the team and is a decent squad member, rather have him on the bench than schlupp to be honest) 16. Drinkwater - Keep (brings something different to the team, can go by players, can make a pass and isn't scares to have a shot from outside the box, starting 11 for me next season) 18. Moussa - Sell (obviously not in nigels plans, always looks good when he goes out on loan, never been given a chance, can't see him staying this summer) 19. Wellens - Sell (one of the most consistent players we've had in a while but unfortunately doesn't seem like he's going to last much longer at this level, slows play down too much aswell) 21. Weale - Sell (prefer to have logan as back up keeper) 20. Beckford - Keep (I know I'm probably going to get stick for this but I think that he should be given another chance, he's shown glimpses of the quality he's got and with a bit of consistency to his game can be a quality player like he was at leeds) 22. Marshall - Keep (could be an absolute bargain, still has a lot to learn but has shown just what he's capable of) 23. Danns - Keep (best central midfielder we have, runs his socks off, scores goals and can put a good tackle, exactly what we have been missing in the last 5 matches) 25. Logan - Keep (solid backup to kasper) 26. Morgan - Sell (I know this won't happen because nigel has only just signed him but I just don't think he's got it, don't get me wrong, he's solid and puts his body on the line but he's just too slow, it scares me when a quick decent striker is running at him) 27. Schlupp - Keep (should be given next season to see what he can do but if he doesn't do it next season I don't think he ever will) 30. Kennedy - Keep (good backup to konchesky and knows how to put a ball into the box) 31. Smith - Sell (can't see him being good enough at this level) 32. Parkes - Sell (if we're being realistic and want to go up next season I can't see him worrying the starting 11 or the bench so might aswell get rid in my eyes) 33. Tunchev - Sell (looked class when he first came but unfortunately injury has ruined a decent career he could have had) 34. Moore - Keep (looked good when he played against palace, he's big, strong and quick, give him a chance and see what happens) 35. Nugent - Keep (on his day he is the deadliest striker we have, works his socks off and with better service from midfield should be looked at 20+ goals from him next season) 36. Taft - Keep (prefer him over parkes, if we want a young, upcoming defender from the academy then I think this lad should be looked at) 37. Hopper - Keep (give him a chance in pre season to show what he can do and give him a few games next season here and there and you never know, we could have the next rooney )
RyanB89 Posted 19 April 2012 Posted 19 April 2012 It says on wikipedia that Vassell is out of contract at the end of the season. So even though hes a useful player, would you REALLY offer him a new contract?? Why not? much more effective than both dyer and gallagher on the wing
