bmt Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 So to all of you arguing against students, would you be happy and accept it if there was a a £150-200+ rise in YOUR season tickets? Or a 100% rise in some cases, that would be an extra £400+ for some.
Dylan Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Have the club even given a proper reason for this? Surely its not losing the club that much money in giving students cheaper ST's, compared to the club's expenditure anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if it LOST money due to the loss in sales of people who simply can't afford it.
flowwolf Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 The part which involves a lot of us losing the chance to go and watch the team we support because we simply can't afford it. As i said before a lot of people ( none student ) could not afford to go last year because their income would not allow it and won't be able to afford it this year. Again I say what makes students so special ? Take your anger and sense of injustice out on the general state of football pricing . We all know it is ludicrous but is even more ludicrous to suggest that you are more worthy of a ticket reduction because you are a student especially to those who work hard for a living and cannot get a reduction.
flowwolf Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 It is not a rise for students you are merely being asked to pay the same as anyone else. You have lost your concession which part of that don't you understand ? Sorry to make this point again but it seems some took no notice.
bmt Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Sorry to make this point again but it seems some took no notice. Which relative to what we paid is a massive increase. I understand why you think students shouldn't have been concessions but we still have a right to be pissed off we can't go see our mediocre underperforming team anyway!

We all know the rows of empty seats so a few less students is not going to make any difference. I suspect the club have looked in to the wide spread abuse of student tickets and decided to put a stop to it , and you can't blame them for that. Mind you they surly won't won't miss out on the revenue of pies and pints in the ground because students would not be able to afford to buy them would they.

We all know it is ludicrous but is even more ludicrous to suggest that you are more worthy of a ticket reduction because you are a student especially to those who work hard for a living and cannot get a reduction. But you don't seem to understand that most students have yet to live the time needed to gain the qualifications needed to gain a job which will pay the wages needed to be able to afford a ST. Yet the majority of others who can't afford it have missed out on the chance to gain a decent education which would've allowed them a well-paying job meaning they CAN afford to go. This is punishing students, out-pricing them out of supporting their club, out-pricing them out of tickets which aren't even in high fvcking demand. Students have already been hit financially since the coalition govt, with uni fees raising to 9k, when they were about 1k 7/8 years ago and the scrapping of EMA etc, giving the excuse the deficit needs to be cut and people have to make sacrifices, only to see tax for the richest cut?!

With that logic i assume you believe there should be no OAP prices then? What makes them so special?

Or they could make sure they go through proper checks to make sure people are actually students before allowing them to buy a ticket.

flowwolf Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Why should a student be allowed to have a cheap ticket to watch a match when non students who cannot afford to go suffer by being denied that same right ? you students think you are some sort of holy cow that we are all in awe of and sympathise with , Well sorry if Mr reality has tapped you on the shoulder and welcome to the real world.

Did you just choose to ignore my previous post? Because the majority of them have had a chance to gain a decent education and have blown it which is why they are in jobs which they can't afford one.

Is being a bellend mandatory in the real world?
flowwolf Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 I have made a phone call to someone who knows why the student concession has been scrapped. Apparently many students who do not even like football have been getting a season ticket for a family member who does. The logistics for checking people are who they say they are on the day is neigh on impossible, so to put a stop to this the concessions have been scrapped. Hoisted on your own petard springs to mind.
flowwolf Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Is being a bellend mandatory in the real world? Is resorting to abuse mandatory in your real world ?
Merchant Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Is resorting to abuse mandatory in your real world ? Ask stupid questions, get stupid answers.

I'm not saying that is wrong but i'd love to know how they came to that conclusion because everyone knows they never check the tickets.

Has it ever crossed you small mind that people actually differ in intelligence levels ? Just because they were not mentally gifted enough to go to University in you opinion they have " blown it " Your arrogance is only overshadowed by your ignorance. I hope to god your not a student because if you are the future is bleak for this country.
ousefox Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Nothing I agree. Wow. So you reckon all those people on low pensions will be able be able to deal with a similar price increase as us students too? You probably expect people to work til they drop. Forgot about all that spare capacity we have in our economy at the moment.
flowwolf Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Ask stupid questions, get stupid answers. Yes I suppose that is all we can expect from a cliche merchant like you.
flowwolf Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 I'm not saying that is wrong but i'd love to know how they came to that conclusion because everyone knows they never check the tickets. That's the whole point they cannot check to see if the ticket holder is indeed a student , the logistics of trying to do that on the match day is a no no.
bmt Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Yes I suppose that is all we can expect from a cliche merchant like you. See what you did there

As I have already said going to a football match is a matter of financial choice it is not a necessity. Now if the club had some sort of reward system for season ticket holders , lets say after twenty years of continuous renewal a loyalty discount would then kick in then that would be exceptable . Would you also stop making assumptions about what I probably think you don't have a clue.
flowwolf Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 See what you did there It's a gift.
