There's always a million reasons not to do something.

Anyway, Nightguard you been out of work for a while? Maybe just lower your expectations and go for something just to help you out.

I've lowed my expectations as far as a cleaner but most require experience and quite a few need some sort of certificate to work in certain environments.

Some out of town companies say the want worker but then do shifts that can only suit those with transport and do not consider that there are people that do not drive or bus companies cannot afford to run better services to accomondate this.

No train station at Desford.

Night shift still looks possible. The 22.20 would get you there at 22.54, how far is the warehouse from the bus station?

Its about a 15 minute walk to the Caterpillar plant, could do it if you let them know at an interview

Have you tried the city? I worked as a cleaner for 6 months at the walkers as a 2nd job no experience needed.

Also try someone like next they run shuttle buses for employees.

No not yet. I did check vacancies out a few months back for stewards.

With cleaners they are usually contracted out. Will have a look. Don't see them advertise. A lot of places dont advrtise and they may be the best ones to go to if it can be found out who they are. A lot of jobs come about by word of mouth.

I was at the Sue Ryder shop yesterday and a bloke came in with some papers that needed signing. He said he was a cleaner. I said I'm looking for a part time cleaning job. He replied So am I. Turns out there is less work of this type available and more people are stating up so contracts are hard to come by. He said he had just lost a job at a pub because they had switched to a contracted company of cleaners.

A couple of months back I went on an office Skills course. It is a charity business and they also help with starting up cleaning businesses which makes the competition even harder with more fighting for contracts.

Anyway I'll look at the jobs at the City. May even be some steward jobs going. I will look forward to the abuse off those in L1.

I was lucky to be able to go back to my old telesales job after qualifying as a Personal Trainer.

Now I get up at 4:30/5am every day, go to the gym to train clients or myself.

Go to work 9 - 5:30 in the sales job.

Then back to the gym for either clients/fitness classes untill about 9 - 10pm

I also work about 8 hrs a day sat and sun.

It means my social life is non-exist at the minute but hopefully, as my business empire builds up I can slowly start to leave the sales job and stand on my own two feet. But it is hard finding a job - I was just lucky that I could go back - I feel for anybody in this tough position

If I was 30 years younger I'd be happy doing that (apart from the gym part) but I have the oppotunity to slow down a little. I only need to do 16 hours and I have no family to support. As long as I have enough coming in to pay the bills and the basics I am happy. For the first time in my life I am doing what I want to do not what others want me to do.

I am sure something will turn up. It's not a walk out walk in a job world now.

With you doing the gym work that keeps you healthy enough to last for the other job. I could only just manage the 9-5 job. Aged 60 plus you go downhill.

I just putthe link up for the younger job searchers not me.

Just emaile about that job stating that I would need flexibility with the hours because of no transport of mine own. I had an instant reply saying that they had updated my details and would let me know if anything became available. Will have to wait to see if they do run transport or offer an arrangement with hours.

Cleaning is contracted out now but a lot of the people o worked with still there. They are always having to use agency to fill places and they hardly ever show up. Might be worth a try.

There is a kitchen porter being advertised at the King Power but at the top of the page next to Type it says student. You have to be available for every home game. Also says Minimum age 18+. Also want people with previous experience or 'can do' attitude. How many students would have experience in the job if that iswhat they are looking for? I'll apply and see what happens.

http://www.thebigcho...s/24729358.html

The site is for students and graduates.

Found more vacancies on the LCFC site. They are lookingfor stewards and program sellers. so sent for my application form. May even get to see a game if the fans in the kop behave.

http://www.lcfc.com/page/JobVacancies

Just looked at a job alert for a packer. Its from Gumtree but even in the apply section it does not say the ompanys name.

Job roles include checking visitors ID's packing goods, loading lorries. Moving stuff to right areas, booking goods out and cleaning.

That is half a dozen jhobs for one persons wage. No wonder some people are unwilling to take them especially as they only pay the min wage. I wont apply because I don't know who or where they are.

Had a reply off my email to LCFC. She's out the office until 9th of July.

I sort of remember applying before and her being out and not getting another reoly.

Had an application form for a steward at the King Power. There are fourtypes, don't know which one to put down.

Turnstile

Gate

Response

Disabled helper

Don't know if I've been working long enough at the charity shop. The manager said they give references.

You should have no problem getting this, from my experiences they're not many people who fail to get the job, however quite a few leave after a couple of games.

Out of the 4 mentioned, depending on whether you're interested in seeing the game or not, I'd go for disabled helper. Turnstile does not guarantee you'll watch the game, and usually get paid less because they don't work as long as your usual steward. Gate is boring, as you will be simply standing next to a exit gate all game and not watching it, apart from on screens downstairs. Response is the level above steward, the ones mainly around L section and the ones that give other stewards a bad name.

I was thinking about the same although I don't know what the helper entails. I would think I'm qualified for all having done security and stewarding at a beer festival and a charity event (although that never involved much) Don't fancy the response much as you get a lot of stick off the fans and if I'm recognized by any off here I'll get even more. :)Like you said the turnstile will be only a short while unless you also have to help after the fans are inside. The gate will be mainly at the end of the game I would think and make sure nobody sneaks in. I'll try the disabled and they may suggest something else. I wouldthink its wheeling wheelchairs into place.

I would think though it would be no more than eight hours a week with midweek games. Need 16 to get off JSA and the job centre off my back. maybe they may have something else too.

See you down there.

Had an email off Lionbridge an online data entry reserch thing. They have reached the capacity for applicants for the UK but my name will be kept on file in case they start up again.

Forgot about that. think you have to check and analise internet sites. Somebody on here suggested it. If they are keeping my name on file it doesn't mean I failed I assume.
