purpleronnie Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 German and Dutch fans are sound. It's the hardcore English Millwall type brigade - I remember watching Holland V Latvia and wanting to die with embarrassment at the behaviour of English fools in attendance of that game. Not got too much experience of Ukraine Poland or Turkey on a fan level. Nah we've sold a lot less tickets than for previous tournaments, german and dutch fans hate each other and is much more likely to have trouble, the only way england fans will be involved in any trouble is if rival fans start something, we have the best behaved fans around its unforunate even our own fans want to be negative about them.
Guest MattP Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 Our fans won't do anything, any fan capable and having the balls to go and scrap in Eastern Europe will already have convictions stopping them going anyway. Most away fans look like hill-walking day trippers now. I chuckled when I saw the ones in Norway.
HEGGSY Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 Anyone watch Panorama? Disgusting levels of violence. What did those Asian fans do wrong? All that kicked off in their "family stand"
Manwell Pablo Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 Well, having watched that, wouldn't really fancy going.
anotherharboroughfox Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 just seen panorama on the ukraine football violence pfftttt that's nothing wait til the english hooligans get out there and give them a good hiding just seen that on a friends facebook...
Guest Bilo Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 Horrendous stuff. What on earth possessed UEFA to give Poland and Ukraine the tournament? That said, the bid was against Italy, Turkey, Greece and Croatia-Hungary; none of which are exactly havens of tolerance and safety on the terraces. I understand the desire to take the tournament beyond its traditional frontiers of Western Europe but this looks as though it's going to go badly tits up. Mind you, wait until Russia 2018 if you want to see a car crash......
Manwell Pablo Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 just seen that on a friends facebook... 15 years ago maybe.
HEGGSY Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 UEFA/FIFA just have a really bad tendency to give major football ing tournaments to the worst possible candidates. World Cup 2018 - England (One of, if not the biggest footballing nation on the planet) Where violence is rarely a problem bar the hooligan firms, that have died down in recent years or Russia, a country renowned for violence on the terraces, the threat of terrorism and racially aggravated attacks. Yup, Russia sounds good to me. World Cup 2022 - Australia, one of the most tranquil settings on the planet with hardly, if any, violence. Japan and South Korea - A bid from two countries that successfully hosted the 2002 world cup. As well bids from big footballing nations such as Belgium and Netherlands and Spain and Portugal. Not to mention the USA, where the only threat there is the threat of obesity and the slight problem of it being a global terrorist target Who do they choose - Fvcking Qatar And then there's Euro 2012....pffft.

Ashley Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 I feel sick after watching that. Why are Polish and Ukraines' living in the dark ages? Alot of my family went out for WC06 to Germany and they arent racist like that!

Well for us to have a chance of hosting a tournament we need to start racially abusing the players, doing Nazi salutes and bombard the players with flares, lighters, coins... Or more likely we will just end up getting thrown out of all European and international tournaments...

Not saying Itallian football is perfect but I can tell you having been to Turin and a game in Rome it is not anything close to that, they should of got it. Turkey has improved from the Leeds United days as well.
Guest MattP Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 Ukraine, Brazil, Russia and Qatar coming up. Not a great time to be a football fan.
Soar Fox Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 Excuse my ignorance, but are people expecting a lot of trouble in Qatar? Or do you mean more about the conditions?

Guest MattP Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 Excuse my ignorance, but are people expecting a lot of trouble in Qatar? Or do you mean more about the conditions? I was referring to the fact gay supporters could face execution. We really need to start thinking more about where these tournaments are going.
Guest Bilo Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 Conditions will be awful. Alcohol severely frowned upon. Homophobic laws and attitudes prevalent. Huge problems if Israel qualify due to visa restrictions and antisemitic attitudes in the country. Zero footballing heritage. Appalling human rights record. Yeah, Qatar 2022 should be a barrel of laughs.

brockmyster Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 Scare mongering like usual, it seems that every major tournement is the worst for safety nowadays. Anyway sol campbells a twat

Guest MattP Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 If I was Assad I'd get my bid in for 2026 while Blatter is still there.....
ScouseFox Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 Someone on Twitter, can't remember who, said something along the same lines of what I was thinking. The BBC could put together footage of the London riots, EDL nutters and reports of racism in our football stadiums and make it look like England is a dangerous place to even visit. I'd guess it's not as bad in Ukraine/Poland as they've tried to portray.
