Spain v Italy (Group C) - Match Thread

Torres showing why he made the bench.

To be fair he's taking up some great positions and making some great runs.

Just a shame he can't hit a barn door.

Bloody hell watching Holland, Germany, Portugal, Spain and Italy makes me think England have even more of a chance.

Obviously we still have England to come and we'll probably embarrass ourselves more than ever, I know only 1 game has been played out of all the teams so far but none of the expected teams have stood out so far, the team that's stood out most so far is Russia.

I haven't read the thread but I had money on Spain but I'm fúcking delighted they didn't win. That was horrible to watch (like most of what they've produced since they won 4 years ago) and they deserved fúck all. You can go on and on about "it's not their fault teams are negative against them" but they've just played 75 minutes without a striker. And I'm also pretty pleased that it was clear to anyone with a brain that the lack of a striker was a pissing stupid idea and it turned out to be just that.

Fúck Spain. Pricks.

No way. There was so much quality out there between Spain and Italy, it was absurd. Those two sides were miles away from England on their best day.

No striker?

Torres over Llorente?

Unbelievable stuff to be honest.

I was just making the point that he said he'd watched Italy 'once'. I've seen plenty of entertaining games involving Italy, and plenty of boring ones too. I think the boring thing is overplayed with them. For example at Euro 2008 they were getting slated for it against Spain when in fact they weren't that negative, and Spain were just quite poor on the night.

That was just the game I was unlucky enough to see live. They scored on 9 minutes and spent the rest of the match diving and time wasting. I'd never pay to watch them again after that

This is the team that in the closing stages of a world cup final, put one man up for a free kick just outside the box. They give "negative" a whole new meaning

laughing so hard at the people who know nothing about international football. I think I saw someone predicted 4-0 Spain. :giggle: Also a post saying how England could win it. Why post on a euro thread if you know nothing about the teams playing??
