Guest shearfox Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 I thought it was Holland vs Portugal and Germany vs Denmark?
davieG Posted 17 June 2012 Author Posted 17 June 2012 I thought it was Holland vs Portugal and Germany vs Denmark? Yes I copied and pasted the wrong bit.
Jordan Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 I'm interested to see if Paulo Bento still has reason to start Silvestre Varela on the bench--and if Bert van Marwijk is bold enough to drop his son-in-law. Ibrahim Affelay (still unfit?) and Jetro Willems (not ready for this level) were massive liabilities against Germany, and BVM has a big task getting what could be a brand new back line ready on short notice, otherwise Ronaldo and Nani will dominate the wings and Portugal will roll through to the quarterfinals. I've been impressed by Denmark's fighting spirit, but I expect Germany to approach this game in their typically professional manner. Portugal 3-1 Netherlands Denmark 0-1 Germany edit to add I just saw that MVB, Affelay and Heitinga are all on the bench in favor of van der Vaart, Huntelaar and Vlaar. The Dutch are really going for it... I don't think this one is gonna finish 0-0!
ScouseFox Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 Willems looked barely capable of playing in the under 18s league I play in against Germany. Him up against Ronaldo could be absolutely horrible for Holland.

Is he hurt? Why can't BvM throw him in at right back?

I'm going Denmark 1-1 Germany & Portugal 0-2 Holland. So Germany & Denmark qualify.
Frost Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 Which game is everyone watching? I can't decide. Same. Think I'll go for the Portugal game though.
ScouseFox Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 Cracker from VDV. All to play for now. Perfect early goal for a neutral.
AjcW Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 Why Postiga?!?!? Surely stick Ronny up front and play Nani and Varella on the wings....
HEGGSY Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 Krohn-Dehli equalises for Denmark. They are through as it stands.
marko Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 Excellent pass and finish. The goal's been coming for a while.
Simmsy Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 Why do the pundits keep saying that Holland can go through? They lost to Denmark and Head to Head is prioritised over goal difference. They can only equal Denmark's points total so they can't go through surely? Am I missing something here?

Because if they win and Denmark lose, Holland, Portugal and Denmark are all on 3 pts, and they've all hen beaten each other so it goes to GD.
Guest ttfn Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 Postiga might just be the slowest player at this tournament.
