ScouseFox Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 This is up there with the worst international defensive performances i've ever seen. Portugal could have had 4 or 5 at least and they've barely even got going yet. Holland are horrendously bad at the back.
Father Ted Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 Holland will get nowhere with that clown of a left back
ScouseFox Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 Holland made a mad change there. They've now got what's effectively 6 forwards on the pitch. No left back and Robben left mid could be interesting if Portugal attack down their right. Having said that, having nobody there will probably be more effective defensively than Willems.
HEGGSY Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 RONALDOOOOOO!!! Again. I think its safe to say.... Holland. Great performance from CR.
ScouseFox Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 A bit annoyed that Holland are in the "group of death" because a lot of people will overlook how absolutely shite they've been. They wouldn't have made it out of Group A playing like this.
Guest shearfox Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 Very poor defensively, the Dutch are all over the place...
HEGGSY Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 how absolutely shite they've been. They wouldn't have made it out of Group A playing like this. I concur. Germany 2-1 Denmark.
MC Prussian Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 So looking forward to Germany vs Greece now. Not just because of the EU implications, but because they play two completely different types of football...

I wouldn't be surprised to see the coach walk.
shen Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Can't say I'm surprised at the end result in either game. At HT I knew that the Danes could hold on, but it all hinged on the Dutch to win. Once news filtered through that Portugal went ahead, it pretty much killed off the realistic chance we had of going through. Still, I'm proud and happy with the performances even though I think we could've done even better, especially going forward. Eriksen was a huge disappointment and I'm beginning to fear that he won't be a big-time player ever. He was a monster against Portugal in the final qualifying game (we never reached that level at the final tournament), but was more like Andy King in these games. On the other hand, Agger has shown what a classy defender he is. On this form I'd argue he's world class. Bendtner has been fantastic, nothing less. I don't particularly like the guy, but I'm glad he's shown all those numpties (even on this forum) that he can be a big handful against any side. Tak for at vise flaget, Danmark! :scarf:
shen Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 By the way, what's the point of the 5th ref who watches penalty box incidents? If he couldn't spot the clear penalty against Bendtner yesterday, then what is he there for?

shen Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 Let it go. Oh I'm not bitter at all. They were the better side etc etc. and I also know that the Dutch should've had a peno against us. Was just wondering since I thought that's what the fifth official was there for
