Guest Bilo Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 If women's football were to take off in this country, I could see the Thais wanting to invest in the ladies' team. Maybe.... You're right though, she's a good player. I'm pleasantly surprised by the standard actually.
Leicesterpool Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 Ladies team play hell of lot better than the mens team!
Guest Bilo Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 Full-time, 1-0 GB. Anyone going to the Ricoh for the quarter-final on Friday? Good luck getting tickets....
Leicesterpool Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 Well done girls! just a thought what if Pearson f u * k s up how would you feel with a female football manager?
Northants Fox 3 Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 All over GB 1 Brazil 0.......The Ladies have done what the Men failed to do in the warm up and beat the Brazilians.....
Guest Bilo Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 Well done girls! just a thought what if Pearson f u * k s up how would you feel with a female football manager? It will happen one day, probably not that far away either. She was on Grimsby's shortlist not all that long ago, and she does have a UEFA Pro Licence. Football can't exist in its own little bubble.
Northants Fox 3 Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 Full-time, 1-0 GB. Anyone going to the Ricoh for the quarter-final on Friday? Good luck getting tickets.... Just shown the quarter final draw GB v Canada on Friday
Leicester_Numan Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 I've enjoyed the womens game more than the mens at national level for years now. Shame there aren't more games on tv
ADK Posted 31 July 2012 Posted 31 July 2012 The womens game was much better than the mens because they are giving 110%. Will we be able to field a team for Rio and beyond, even if the men don't? Because i think the olympics is important for the womens game.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 Got a ticket for the Ladies QF on Friday, looking forward t it to be fair!
Jordan Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 Got a ticket for the Ladies QF on Friday, looking forward t it to be fair! Should be a good one. GB should be the favorites but Canada is a decent side with a couple of very good forwards.
21st Century Fox Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 Brazil losing, fantastic finish for the second goal by Japan.
davieG Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 A very physical strong Canadian team, have we put out a weaker team?
Out Foxed Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 Rachel Williams (Leicester born) is on the pitch.
davieG Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 Couple of shouts for penalties especially the 2nd where it looked like her legs were just whipped from under her.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 Canada deserved it. Just. GB had their chances but just couldn't take them in addition to a couple of penalty shouts turned down too. Considering a lot of the crowd was probably made up of people who dont usually go to the football, the atmosphere was quite good - infact, very loud at times, I doubt the Ricoh has ever seen something like that before. And even though they were vastly outnumbered, the canadians made themselves heared - especially for their goals. Think the crowd got bored in the second half as most people were ore-occupied with getting a Mexican wave going. Oh and if anybody was wondering, the home end of the Cov stadium looks exactly the same as the away end... Shit
Toffee_Fox Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 GB coach should take the blame, poor tactics and team selection in that game, don't fix something that isn't broken. Leaving Kelly Smith (115 International Caps), Fara Williams (110 International Caps & England Captain) & Rachel Yankey (124 International Caps & England VC) on the bench was laughable in such a crucial knockout game, not only are they the best players but their experience on the pitch would of been a huge plus.
ScouseFox Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 USA v Canada is boss. USA have been behind 3 times and equalised each time, 3 all with about 6 minutes left. A dodgy free kick led to a dodgy penalty for the last US equaliser, too. Ref gave an indirect free kick in the area for the keeper holding onto the ball for above 6 seconds. Happens in every single game in every league all over the world every day, don't ever remember seeing it given. The free kick was blocked by a girl at close range with her arms in by her body and handball was given. USA pretty lucky. Going into ET at the moment.
21st Century Fox Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 Gutted for Canada. I was at the Women's World Cup final in Frankfurt last summer, it was a pretty brilliant atmosphere with the two sets of fans, so can't really complain at a grudge match of that again.
davieG Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 They looked tougher than some of the namby pamby PL players.
21st Century Fox Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 How Desiree Scott carried on after her knee literally bent back on itself I don't know!
Brown Fox Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 What a game! Anyone else think 3 minutes was a bit much for injury time in extra time?
