foxfanazer Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 Federer vs Del Potro Is anybody watching this? 17-17 in the deciding set. Longest match in Olympic history
Libertine Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 Damn fine match. Hopefully Roger about to end it..
Northants Fox 3 Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 Murray 1 set up on Djokovic match is on BBC 3 now
Haydos Posted 3 August 2012 Posted 3 August 2012 Chuffed for Murray. Worked hard for that. Not sure what happened to Djok in that last game though....crumbled.
goose2010 Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 I was on centre court today was epic the first game was crazy never seen anything like it! Over 4 hours for a 3 set match crazy stuff! The Murray game was the best sporting atmosphere I think I've ever been at, I've been to Wimbledon a couple of times but I've never witnessed a crowd like that before, it was great! And Murray played out of his skin! Great day, great atmosphere and now feeling very roud to be british! One last thing serina Williams = beast

foxfanazer Posted 4 August 2012 Author Posted 4 August 2012 Can see Murray winning the gold. He was a beast against Djokovic. Obviously it is against Federer though so you never know
Northants Fox 3 Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 Can see Murray winning the gold. He was a beast against Djokovic. Obviously it is against Federer though so you never know Very true ...... I saw all but the last game, and Murray looked like he was on a mission, It looked to me like he wanted to make it up to the British fans after his final defeat at Wimbledon......
AoWW Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 Murray and Robson through to the semi-finals in the mixed doubles.
Guest MattP Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 Can see Murray winning the gold. He was a beast against Djokovic. Obviously it is against Federer though so you never know Stick your neck out and make a prediction I'll go with Federer, too much class and mentally has Murray in these situations, I'd have given Murray a dtrong chance over 3 sets mind.....
goose2010 Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 I think he will do it tomorrow! Could be on for a double gold!! Robson and Murray both playing out on their skins here!
AoWW Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 Murray and Robson through to the semi-finals in the mixed doubles. And through to the the final.
goose2010 Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 Fantastic, massive boost for British tennis this!

I can't really predict anything other than a Federer win. It's Federer though, come on give me a break
leicsmac Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 I think in terms of form Murray is superior right now - he did fantastically against an in-form Djokovic, and Federer struggled massively to beat Del Potro who doesn't have much of a grass court pedigree. However the mental edge in these 5-set finals clearly lies with Federer, given what has happened before. The crowd will be behind Murray - considerably more so even than at Wimbledon given the situation so that may well be advantageous to Murray. On the flip side, Federer loves Wimbledon too, and he knows how to win here. The actual situation here (Olympic final) is new to them both. What does that all add up to? God only knows - tbh I think this one is an utter even-money 50/50 chance, purely based on who has the better day at the office. But I'm going to go with Murray in 4, with the crowd pulling him through.
Jimothy Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Yes Andy. Feel like we've been here before with Murray though. Needs to keep this up over at least 3 sets. Those netcords are certainly helping though! That's 3!!!!

That's 3!!!! Haha that break was fantastic, net cord after net cord. I know what you mean but it just looks like he's going to do it today, just feels like it. Don't want to tempt fate but Fed looks a little lost, maybe the crowd are playing a part, after all he's spent almost ten years being crowd favourite in almost every game he's played.
ScouseFox Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 8 games in a row for Murray, been nearly an hour since Federer won a game. Unreal.
Tielemans63 Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 I've put a tenner on Federer (in play @ 4/1) That way I'm happy whatever the outcome!
ScouseFox Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 This is bloody sensational. He's making Federer look like an amateur.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Murray Mint! He's out for revenge
Mark_w Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Surely, even Murray, can't mess this up. Edit: Well done Andy, you're not Scottish anymore.
