Anyone know what Huggeslcote United are like? Got them in the county cup final.

They are very good side these days, but probably not as good as yourselves.

I could give you a detailed break down of who to worry about etc but I'm not going to as to be honest I want them to win lol (Best of luck though)

Beat Loughborough Saints 1-0 yesterday, they hate us and we hate them.

We got our goal through a penalty mid way through the first half after their man was the last man and brought our striker down, was pretty harsh but when you had the Referee that we had then you can see why he sent him off. Nigel Campsell?

Well what followed was bloody ridiculous.. One of lads and their centre mid had a scuffle and admittedly our lad left his boot in, Ref calmed it down. The Lough Saints lad couldn't let it go, got booked for a tackle on another one of lads and then fouled the lad who he had a problem with originally and started kicking him after the free kick was given. This lead to a 22 man brawl, punches thrown, headbutts the lot. The Saints lad who caused it all had his nose broken and covered in blood, his nose looked worse than Phil Thompsons lol.

So the brawl has stopped after a lot of cowardly punches by both teams to players with their backs turned. The Ref doesn't abandon the game which it should have, gives the Saints lad his 2nd yellow card for his foul and sends two of our lads off for "heavy pushing" an absolute nightmare. We aren't annoyed with our lads being sent off, they should of been and we'll accept the ban/fine that comes our way I'm guessing but for him not to send any of their players off was an absolute joke.

So both teams had to play the 2nd half with 9 men and was really a nothing game after that.

Somes up the Charnwood League and the Refs that they give these kind of matches too.

Well that sounds interesting lol.

We gave Hugglescote United Reservers a 7-0 hideing, turns out they aren't so good without their first team playing for them.

It was very weird, any normal Ref would have abandoned it there and then. Everyone was shocked he continued the game.

At least we will be going to Holmes Park this season, all be it for the wrong reasons.

We've got the Everards Cup to play for now. Whitwick Compass wrapped the League up yesterday beating Stanny 2-0. They became the first different team in 16 seasons to win the Premier League as the other 16 seasons one of Wymeswold or Stanny have always been the winners. They have deserved to win it this season though by a country mile.

God knows whats going to happen next season with the CSFL - hearing teams are considering merging together and what not, it's sad to see how bad its got, we've only just found out who we've got in the Everards Cup, don't see a League table unless another Prem club updates theirs, don't know many fixtures coming up and when you ask the League about sorting it out they don't want to know.

Fingers crossed they can see sense next season and realise that they are going to have to merge the Premier League and Division 1 together and only have 3 Leagues. If that means Birstall Stamford Reserves and A have to go then so be it, the Leagues need badly sorting out and if teams are not prepared to play against the Premier League teams next season then I think they should be told not to bother having a team in any of the Leagues next season, not fair that the Premier League suffers and has 6/7 teams in it.

The whole Premier League thing is a mockery to be honest, in reagrds to teams not wanting to play in it. I can see where Swannington were coming from, they won Division 2 and this should not reasult in promotion to the Premier League, the gap between 2 and 1 is the biggest jump in the ladder if you ask me never mind missing it out and jumping another big gap in standard to the Premier League, and they had lost players to the Cross Keys, so they'd never of been able to compete. But then the only reason they did that to Swannington was because Long Whatton told the league if they were put up to the prem, they'd fold. The league can't be held to ransom like that otherwise everyone will say that to avoid promotion. If it were me in charge I'd of gone to Sileby Athletic after Long Whatton, much more able to at least compete in the Prem than Swannington.

It has got to a stage where they do need to drop a division now. I dunno how many teams have gone in total, but I know the Prem is down to 7, and with us leaving and going to Burton at the end of the season there will only be 8 in Div 3.

Oh, it'll be the first team lol.

The reserves are dog.

Exactly, teams should not be allowed to say whether they go up or not. Gaunt for example, said they wanted to go Division 1 because they felt they couldn't beat teams in the Prem? Yet they've been winning in Division 1 and are 4th with 20 points? Aths 23 points and Cross Keys and Stamford Reserves 27 points, the next team in 5th have 13 points in Long Whatton but if you look at the players they have signed on then they could win games in the Prem. Gaunt have Carl Adams signed on for them?! They beat us 5-1 last season, yeah Carl scored all 5 but they can beat teams.

Next season the Premier League should look like this.

1. Compass

2.Wymeswold

3. Birstall Stamford

4. Ashby Rovers

5. Quorn Royals

6. FC Hob

7. Sileby Aths/Lough Saints - heard they may merge

8. Cross Keys

9. Gaunt

10. Long Whatnot

There is 10 teams in a Premier League, would make it a lot more competitive and winning the League would again actually mean something, 18 League games. Even if teams like Whatton couldn't take points off Compass, Wymeswold and Stamford they would be able to compete against all the other teams. We've lost to Ashby Rovers this season, got to play Hob who Aths have played against many times over the last few seasons.

I just don't see why teams wouldnt want to test themselves in the highest possible League.

You still in the Everards Cup Manwell?

What do you reckon lol. The League hate us and make sure we're out early doors every year.

2008/09 Lost Thirngston MW

2009/10 Won Accademicals (only tie we've ever won in our 5 year history) Lost Wymeswold

2010/2011 Lost- Compass

2011/12 Lost- Compass

2012/13 Lost- Hob

Oh didn't realise, that is some pretty shocking draws. It's the only cup we seem to win. Only lost 1 game in 6 seasons v Poplar and in 09/10 we got chucked out because we couldn't play the game v Falcs!

We finally play FC Hob for the first time on Sunday.

Yeah I'm aware you win it a lot, the year you knocked us out I think it was the last 16, as we'd got a by in round 1 and a win in round 2 you it's sort of understandable getting a Prem team at that stage but other years just shocking draws, although we've normally always given a half reasonable account of ourselves I suppose.

Yeah it was after that win we got chucked out.

We lost to Birstall Reserves 4-3 AET and conceded in the 120th minute. Slightly gutted to be fair, I honestly think we had a ridiculous draw, Gaunt in the first round, Stamford in the next and either Markfield or Long Whatton (who knocked Markfield out on Peno's but lost to them 5-0 in league on Sunday) I honestly think it was pre drawn, we also face Compass in the Everards Round 2, couldn't make it up. I hear you saying we of gone up last season but the league should of shook it up when Swannington folded and nothing was done. Don't forget Markfield lost in the Everards Semi's to Loughborough Saints, won the 1/2 cup and finished runners up in Div 2 and we finished joint fourth with Hathern on goal difference. I think next season if they are going to get it competitive again is make it 14 teams like North Leics Premier when I won it with Saints and drop the Premier Cup. It was such a drab Premier cup final last season, if we are going to have a quality cup final venue then don't have it at Shepshed Dynamo.

If I was draw the Premier Div up next season it would be 1. Ashby 2. Birstall 1sts 3. Birstall 2nds 4. Hob 5. Lough Saints 6. Markfield 7. Cross Keys 8. Gaunt 9. Aths 10. Quorn Royals 11. Wymeswold 12. Long Whatton 13. Whitwick Compass and 14. Either Hugglescote United or Birstall A.

Think it's about time it was made competitive, when we played Stamford on Sunday they roped in a defender who plays consistently for Loughborough Dynamo our highest rank player is East Midlands Counties and he doesn't get in that team at the mo. Still, it's 2 massive divisions difference. I think if they don't like it then send them over to the Alliance, I honestly don't see the point in them staying in Prem, 1 and 2 for the future. My opinion.

And no, no merge to any other team from us. We will always stay Sileby Athletic. Ps. gonna miss you manny.

Glad you aren't merging mate! All them hours in the common room would be wasted then, you worked to get Aths where they are for a reason.

I can't see the Prem ever having 14 teams though, 10 max. Like you said if they don't like it then they should be off to the Alliance, that should be the same for all Clubs. I have a feeling Long Whatton won't want to come up but they have some good Prem players. Have you been asked about coming up next season already?

I wouldn't want Stanny to go to the Alliance either, you lose them and you lose a lot of quality from the CSL.

Haha I bet no one has said that to him before lol

I'm looking forward to next season now I've thought about it. I've played in every division in the CSFL in the 8 years I've been playing senior football, so it will make a nice change playing in a completely different league.

It will also be nice to be playing in a league who actually seem to know what they are doing next season as well lol

Hopefully we'll get a bit of silverware too!
