Father Ted Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 Beat Plough Thorpe Acre 5-4 today. (Alliance 1-0 Charnwood ) I'm still out obviously but went to support the lads and it was a well contested game.. two teams who tried to get the ball down and play. Roll on the last 16.
Bert Posted 4 November 2012 Author Posted 4 November 2012 Had a league game but wasn't there and best Humberstone 2000 5-3. One of our lads was threatened with a hammer, one lad pushed in his face and another was told by the opposition that he was going to slice his cheek off with a samurai sword. Pleased we got the win, slowly finding our feet.

Didn't see anyone get pushed in the face though the hammer, well the lad does it every week

Heard young Ash for us scored 2 screamers, he's only 18. No need for that hammer bollocks, whether it was because you were losing there's no place for it.

The team I used to play for on Sunday's had a reputation of being a good friendly club with decent lads. We had a lad turn up one week too sign on and he could play very well in fact but he had a bad attitude and threatened a couple of opposition in two different games. Our manager made the decision to ask him to leave as he didn't want the club to be associated with someone like him.

All we want to do is enjoy our football with our mates.

We won fair play award last year and we aren't a dirty side to be honest but the lad with the hammer comment wouldn't surprise me he's new uses it quite a lot n
SystonFox Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 CSKA seconds 2 harrow 2 Got my second of the season today. A looping header towards the back stick from a long throw to put us 2-0 up. Shouldn't have threw it away but 2-2 a fair result in the end

Ozwin Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 2-2 at 70 mins, manager brings me on and I get 2 assists, we win the game 4-2. Love it haha.
Manwell Pablo Posted 5 November 2012 Posted 5 November 2012 Beat Albion All Stars 3-1 in a friendly, despite them borrowing half their team off Premier League Moira United

Soar Fox Posted 9 November 2012 Posted 9 November 2012 Just saw the draw for the billy Walton and we've been given a tough test against Wigston Car Breakers.
Father Ted Posted 9 November 2012 Posted 9 November 2012 Just saw the draw for the billy Walton and we've been given a tough test against Wigston Car Breakers. We drew Bert's team who have now folded which means that in rather unfortunate circumstances we're through to the last 16 with a bye. Looking forward to most likely playing one of the big boys that round, should be a good test, especially seeing as LKS (in our division) only lost 4-1 to Star and Garter (1-1 at half time) and Inter Mivan (also div 6) only lost 6-0 to Prem Sports with 8 players at a wedding So the gulf in standard really isn't that big I don't think.

I've just saw that Huncote ressies have folded. Shame that is, we played their 1st team on the first day of the season and they were a really good bunch of lads. They've also got good facilities and a decent pitch. Never nice to see a club fold. Yeah I imagine you'll meet one of the 'bigger' teams. Always good to test yourself against higher opposition and you never know what can happen in a 1 of cup game.

Yeah, I'm always up for a good test. Even if we get spanked, I've seen in the past that if everybody puts a good performance in, it can often boost the teams confidence for the rest of the season.

Manwell Pablo Posted 9 November 2012 Posted 9 November 2012 Div 6 vs Prem champions... Thats still convincing enough, plus you don't even know if they played their strongest team! We played a prem team that got to the quarters of the FA cup and the County Cup semi last year twice in consecutive seasons and lost 3-1 both games I would not say that makes us a good team just defended reasonably well on the day.

The ressies are effectively the first team so I guess I'll be seeing you sometime soon! I'm still pretty pissed off that we've had to fold as it's not our fault, but that's life.

I'm quite surprised Huncote aren't up their this season. When we played you first game of the season you were a defensively sound team and on another day with a better striker you probably would have got a point out of the gane.

Don't think Adam or Luke have been there much this season. The first team from last year lost the main striker but now it's just one team, he'll be there next time. Along with me Should be interesting how we go!

Fair enough but when you see league games that are won by 7+ goals, it's still pretty decent. My point with LKS is strong enough tbf.
