Soar Fox Posted 14 April 2013 Posted 14 April 2013 Billy Walton Q/F Advance Couriers 2 V 3 Fairfield Dynamo. Know doubt that is our result of the season. We've now beat Advance and Wigston Car Breakers away in both games. Can see us getting a double promotion to the prem next season.
munf1987 Posted 14 April 2013 Posted 14 April 2013 Nice win against Ashby today in a friendly. Nice bunch of lads was a pleasure to be playing against you lot. I know some of the players are on here. Hope the lad who left in the ambulance makes a quick recovery
Manwell Pablo Posted 15 April 2013 Posted 15 April 2013 Nice win against Ashby today in a friendly. Nice bunch of lads was a pleasure to be playing against you lot. I know some of the players are on here. Hope the lad who left in the ambulance makes a quick recovery Yes mate thanks for the game, good to give some of the lads a run out we were missing a lot of first team players (I got the impression you had a bit of a switch round yourselves as well) so was good to give some minutes to a few lads and get a game played. League have been atrotious in getting us games recently especially on a Sunday. Played in the right spirit, decent set of lads, play nice football. The lad in question (Simo86 off here incidentally) has broken his leg unfortuantley. They were planning on pinning it but looks like they're gonna see how it goes for a bit. So yeah.....speedy recovery not likely I'd imagine he'll be out till October at least, not even out of hospital yet. More Charnwood Sunday League bumbling on Sunday, as mentioned we were playing AFC Sporting Charnwood in a friendly when a ref turned up out of nowhere to ref our cancelled league game against FC Charnwood they hadn't told him he'd been reassigned . Brilliant, had to hot pedal it off to Mountsorrel at 5 past 10. On top of this I have herd last weeks Griffin vs Hillmoren game ended in a 22 man brawl resulting in no fewer than 5 Hillmoren players being sent off . They've been removed now, so that's another game of football we're gonna have cancelled, and the league is going to finish with 8 teams in it. Only bright side the expunging of their results has given us a much better chance of getting 2nd place. I'd speculate Griffin are probably going to go at the end of the season (if not before) and we're moving leagues so I hope the CSFL have got some interest next season of they could be cutting a division or two out!
munf1987 Posted 15 April 2013 Posted 15 April 2013 Where were you playing? I was the number 11. Came on after 30 minutes into centre midfield before switching to the left wing. Scoring 1 and setting up 2 before switching onto the right wing for the final 10. We have a decent starting 11 but our squad isn't the best but we are a bunch of mates who started the club up from nothing 2 seasons ago. we had a few players missing mainly in the midifield and up front. The lad who reffed the game for us, normally starts. The league is a complete joke, they just dont have a clue. How hard can it actually be to arrange who is playing who and where and assign a referee to the game. Majority of the teams in our league are alright, theres a few players but generally their team mates dont even like them. Most of the Griffin lads seem alright, although we keep trying to have a friendly against them but they always withdraw

Most of the Griffin lads seem alright, although we keep trying to have a friendly against them but they always withdraw I was the idiot at right back who spent half the game in your half and other half bickering with the other idiot playing centre half. The one you managed to get an overlap on for your goal , I'm blaming the right winger at the time, who incidently was also the same bloke who then moved to left back and managed to put your cross into the back of his own net for that "setup" goal you were talking about. He's giving me a lift home later so I'll pass on your thanks.
munf1987 Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 I've tried to claim that goal but the lads were having none of it, tbf to the lad he had to get something on it as our stri,er was right behind him although I doubt he would have found the net. That number 6 striker is a good player and rapid but I think you helped us out by sticking him onto the wing. We had our rapid striker missing against yourselfs

That number 6 striker is a good player and rapid but I think you helped us out by sticking him onto the wing. We had our rapid striker missing against yourselfs There is getting something on it, and then there is powering it into your own bottom corner . the small fast lad up front doesn't even play for us he plays for Hugglescote although I think we're signing him next year, and yeah he is quick and chases everything down, probably should square the ball more often though. We were missing both the lads who have been playing up front in recent weeks including our top goal scorer, the other striker hadn't played for 6 weeks prior to Sunday as he's been out , so good for him to get a game and a goal. Your not exactly short on pace anywhere tbh most of you have got a decent 10 yards! EDIT: And on the subject or the ref AKA Dennis the Menace I know he's a decent player I've played against him a couple of times when he was at Peacock.
munf1987 Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 I've never heard him called that before, i'll be sure to pass it on. Normally he gets refferred to Frodo. TBF to the lad with the quality in the cross there wasn't much more he could do. We're hoping to go up this season and with our starting 11 we should do well its just a case of keeping the fringe players happy and the starting 11 fit. Good luck to your lads next season in the new league. Hopefully sort another friendly out again at some point?

Hope the lad who left in the ambulance makes a quick recovery Cheers for the well wishes mate. As Manny has said I've broke my leg and they did nail it in the end so I'll recover quicker than if I just had it in a cast. Hopefully I'll back playing by the start of next season. All the best to your lads for the rest of the season and if another friendly is arranged I hope to be playing, if I'm not I'll definitely come down to watch
Maybes Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Monsell for us tonight. Lose and we play for 2nd/3rd. Win...well Monsell would still need to muck up but we would be 8 points clear with them having 4 games in hand.
Ashley Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Monsell for us tonight. Lose and we play for 2nd/3rd. Win...well Monsell would still need to muck up but we would be 8 points clear with them having 4 games in hand. Where you playing Maybes? Good luck we have them Sunday I know they have to quick wingers. Any other feedback much appreciated.
Father Ted Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Where you playing Maybes? Good luck we have them Sunday I know they have to quick wingers. Any other feedback much appreciated. I watched them vs Oak in the Stokes Cup final, seemed fairly solid as a unit at the back. They look to release Kev Jones up top as quick as possible, very fast and lively striker.
Soar Fox Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 3 games in 3 days starting tonight at home to Magna Town 2012.
Soar Fox Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Lost 1 nil against Prem Sports in the Billy Walton semi final. A mistake by our centre half and we got punished. We were poor in the final third and some of our players let themselves get bullied by the physical presence of prem sports. All about concentrating on winning the league now for us.
Maybes Posted 21 April 2013 Posted 21 April 2013 Completed the league double over Monsell on Friday after beating them 4-2. Relatively comfortable apart from we went 1-0 down . HT 1-1. Seen that they won 5-3 today so the gap is now 5 points with 3 games in hand for them. hmmmm :I
Bert Posted 24 April 2013 Author Posted 24 April 2013 We had our final game of the season against Fairfield tonight, lost 4-0.
Soar Fox Posted 24 April 2013 Posted 24 April 2013 We had our final game of the season against Fairfield tonight, lost 4-0. Did you play mate? I was stuck at work till 10pm.
Bert Posted 24 April 2013 Author Posted 24 April 2013 Did you play mate? I was stuck at work till 10pm. No mate, watched. Too easy for your lads at times. We missed some glorious chances but I don't think that your lot got out of 2nd gear for most of the night.
Manwell Pablo Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 Drew 2-2 with the Griffin, which all but ends our chances of second unless we can pull something special off against FC Charnwood. Only lost three league games all season but far too many draws.... Great game, chances for both teams, but we'll be left rueing missing the better ones of the game I feel, A Penalty an Open goal and our centre back firing over the bar wildly in the last second when seven yards out.
Finnegan Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 A Penalty an Open goal and our centre back firing over the bar wildly in the last second when seven yards out. Jesus! That's got to hurt, watching that happen.
Manwell Pablo Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 Jesus! That's got to hurt, watching that happen. The one in the last second was the worst as knew that was it. trudged back to the half way line hands behind head couldn't believe it. Can't really blame him he's a centre back, we'd already had chances to score, and to be fair he took the ball down really well and turned his defender really well, just a shame he nearly put his shot on the Leisure Centre roof.
Tevez Posted 6 July 2013 Posted 6 July 2013 Come on then people it's that time of year Where we playing, We do you think you'll finish etc. We got promoted to the Prem and to be honest, I'm proper excited for it!! Got to do a bit of work trying to stay up from the drop, anywhere but bottom will do for me. And would like a nice county cup run against one of the alliance teams.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 6 July 2013 Posted 6 July 2013 Currently unsigned and don't know if I'll bother. I really enjoy Sunday mornings off now
